My buddy who is a Red Sox fan sent me this Justin Willard interview from January. He talks about his strategies and long term belief on what makes pitchers good, and it’s a fun listen imo. It’s pretty nerdy but I assume anyone checking this sub in November is a nerd. It starts around 24:45

The back third of the interview is a lot more Red Sox focused but the first 25 minutes or so are not.

One thing he is a believer at the minor league level in is 6 man rotations and then every turn through, 1 guy gets skipped so basically once every 6 weeks, a guy gets 12 days off, and he talks about how this lets them focus on strength/velocity during the season in a way they wouldn’t be able to otherwise

  2. Rumors are rumors, but Tatis being put on the trade block sounds insane. No way anybody takes that type of trade right?
