Eli Manning reacts to Giants firing Brian Daboll | Monday Night Countdown

We are joined now ahead of the Manning cast. Payton and Eli with us. Great lineup coming. I’m going to talk about that in just a minute. And Payton, you got a great story about being here in Lambo. It’s cold tonight, fellas. I hope you’re warm inside the quarter zips. But first, Eli, obviously given the news with New York. I’m just interested in the perspective you share as Brian Dable is uh is relieved of his duties. Well, it’s a sad day and just another reminder that football is a great game, but it’s a brutal business and we saw that today. Everybody know Coach Dable is a great coach. uh just a few years ago he was coach of the year lead the Giants to a playoff win. Uh you you know you felt the excitement this year him having the quarterback that he wanted with Jackson Dart. Some excitement going around but just haven’t been able to win uh too many games uh this year and the last few years. So it’s a sad day. I’ve reached out to coach Daveel. I know he’ll be back at the NFL coaching because he’s a great coach, a great person and just uh unfortunate news today. But um we’ll just have to keep going on and and those guys will keep fighting and it’s a great franchise and you’ve been a part of their storyried history when uh they begin a search now for their next coach. And Ben, you speak about storied history Lambo. There’s really nothing like it. I know you played here. I understand the temperature was in the 20s perhaps. What do you remember about a a frosty day at Lambo? Well, Scott, everybody talks about Eli’s memorable games in Green Bay. He beat F. He beat Rogers in the playoffs. Tom Coughlin’s face froze off. But some of us also have memorable moments in Green Bay, like my first game at Lambo. I was excited to play in this historic stadium for the first time. I get out there, it’s freezing cold. I look out on the field, all the Packers are out there, no sleeves on. I look at our sideline, all our guys are wearing long sleeves, standing by the heater. I’m like, Scott, we’re in trouble. The game starts. My first pass goes like this. Okay, I drop back. Got a receiver open. The ball comes out of my hand because the ball’s frozen. No gloves. I do recover it. Safety for Green Bay. So, not the way you want to start playing a game in this historic stadium for the first time. So, Eli, you’re not the only one with a memorable moment in Green Bay. Although, it’s one that I love to forget. That’s a bummer. That’s a bummer. That’s right. Peyton, we just had our uh little Payton’s Places tush push action release and uh we got to exchange places. It was a little awkward seeing myself in the blue. I don’t know how you felt in the kelly green. I thought you looked fantastic. What uh what’ you think of the tush push? What do you what do you think about it so far this season? Well, look, it’s going to be a huge part of the game tonight and I appreciate you Jason kind of taking me behind the ropes and what it takes to execute this tush push. Let’s take a look at this clip here. So, I go four-point stance. You snap and the first thing you do, you’re going to put your face down. You’re going to keep your ass up so that your feet don’t slide out from under you. Okay. So, the strategy is to get here. Boom. And then you’re crawling and grinding your feet. That’s easy. Yeah. I got it. Got it. I got it. I got it. See it? Oh, hold on. That’s too high. Remember, face down. Pass up. It’s the way I like to block. All right. Wrong one. 180. 180. Oh, nice. There you go. Way to drive, baby. Now we’re ready. Great job, Peyton. Great job. Great coaching there. So much fun. I am not sure I’m cut out to be a center. I’m going to keep my day job. Although I don’t have a day job, but Jason, I appreciate you taking us behind the ropes with that play. That was awesome. Thank you for having me out there, man. It’s It was awesome being out there with you, Peyton. Thank you. All right. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  1. The GM and DC sabotaged Daboll and both keep there jobs. The GM has been aweful in FA, Draft, and roster management. Daboll finally gets the offense which he was asked to do clicking. Daboll goes against the GM and owners for Dart. Yet hes the guy fired. I cant stand Chris Mara. Hes ruining this team. Yes Daboll should be let go but hes not the reason this team is loosing.

  2. GM has missed on every draft pick but 3 or 4. Cant even give him credit for Dart either. Costs us games with kickers while releasing a guy who hit a 64 yarder in GB. The DC cant call a game to save his life. Yet Daboll goes when he finally got the offense rolling. Make it make sense please!!!!!! Cant wait for the next HC JUDGE to ruin Dart.

  3. What a crappy answer the truth is he's a good coach there was no reason for him to be fired I'm not saying the team doesn't suck I'm just saying it's not all his fault

  4. I’m a Giants fan. THROW THE WHOLE FRONT OFFICE AWAY! Start fresh. Get some guys in there who are old school and who are going to bring back the old school Giants way. Great defense, great offensive line, strong running game, reliable tight end, and a quarterback with guts. That’s the Giant way

  5. I felt that Daboll punched out after the Bronco's loss.. He just hasn't been the same.. in a way I feel he is probably relieved … And will still make his 900 bucks an hour being unemployed without everything.. I don't feel like he was the right person to fire, I feel the should have fired their DC before the season even started..
