Teammates to finish 1st AND 2nd in Rookie of the Year voting 🏆 (From 1975 to 2025!)

Swinging a drive deep to left. He’s done it four times. What a magical night for the big Amish. Smooth as butter, baby. Shut it up. Incredible. Simply incredible. Oh my god. Looking for a ball in play. Sure, Jacob Wilson’s your guy. The problem is his baseball more than likely is willing to find a hole with the way that he approaches the game. 02 pitch back up the middle. A base hit. Wilson does it again. The savior in Sacramento. Chaos in the capital city and the A’s win 7 to6. Will he walk off? Strikes again. Swing. Fly ball. Well, hit center. Carlson on his horse. Still going. Ball is gone. Michael Harris with a lightning bolt. Ties this game. That’s money. That is some money. I love it. The young kid comes through once again in the clutch. Ties this ball game. There it is. Number 200. Right on by. Nothing but pure heat staying behind the baseball. Blue by you and that’s your ball game. Craig Kimell nails it down for Atlanta and then he struck him out with another breaking ball. Two strikeouts for Kimell in the ninth inning. Slow deliberate wind up in the 3-1 pitch to Freddy. Hit to center field and deep going back is Aniel. Going back is Aniel. This one is gone into the seats in left center field. That ball had some carry on it. At the beginning, it didn’t look like it was going to get out of here, but Freeman finds enough to get it out of here. Picks up home run number 21, RBI number 76. Down in the dodge bullpen, Blake Hawksworth begins to warm up. And a highfly ball in the gap in left center field. And this one is going to clear the wall. So Freddy Freeman just goes the other way and hits it out. And the Braves take a two to nothing lead for Freeman his second home run of the year. Walton has hit safely in. Holy cow. I love looking. He’s going to beat it out. He does. the bases. The 30th game in a row. Two balls, two strikes. Cubs win. Cubs win. Cubs win. Holy cow. Cubs win. Cubs win after being behind nine to nothing. Cubs win. And look at them. They’re mobbing Dwight Smith who drove in the tying run and now the winning run. And listen to this crowd. Not a soul has left the ballpark. Holy cow. What a victory from nine behind down to 10 to nine win. How about that? 53 Twins. Well, hit to right field. Back she goes. Grand Salami time. Goodbye baseball. Alvin Davis with a grand slam home run to right field down the line for AD. His seventh home run of the season. Alvin Davis with one swing of the bat has put the Mariners on top by a score of seven to five. Here he is into the wind in the two two pitch on the way in the breaking goal. Swing and the miss and he’s got it. He has the American League strikeout championship. Mark Langston and Dwight Gooden become the first rookies in Major League history to lead their respective leagues in strikeouts. Would you believe it? My oh my. Two men out, Johnny Bench. It’s a sinking line drive toward center fielder Fred Lynn. You can see it wasn’t just his batting that made Lynn the first rookie in baseball history to be named his league’s most valuable player. Watch this play again. Long drive deep left center field hanging up. up and into the screen. Home run. Uh-oh. Long shot center field way back and goodbye baseball.
