The NBA Has A Jalen Duren PROBLEM..
Sometimes I forget Jaylen Duran is only 21 years old. It’s crazy because to start the season he’s playing at a near superstar level. 19.2 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. The impact is off the charts. Per pivotfade.com, he has played 242 minutes. The Pistons have won his minutes by 74 points, easily the highest plus minus on the team. Second place belongs to Kate Cunningham at plus 56. Also with him on the court, 123.2 offensive rating. That’s a best offense in the league pace. Detroit’s offense drops to 110.3 without him when he’s resting, aka one of the worst in the NBA. They also have been a top two defense with him anchoring at the rim. It’s early, but he’s playing like an all-star in the perfect co-star next to Kate Cuttingham. this jump if he can maintain this consistency. The Pistons are a legitimate contender to win the wideopen Eastern Conference. He’s shooting 64.3% from the field. Cade has assisted him 25 times already. Duran is really feeding off his gravity in the short roll in the rolling situation, getting loss for days. Look at this play to stay on Cade. The secondary rim protector is just too small. He elevates to the sky while cocking it back with his weak hand. Are you kidding me? Again, Cade getting doubled. This time he takes two dribbles into the lefty hook shot. Most bigs don’t have that good of touch with their strong hand. Yet, he does it with his weak hand. What makes him such an elite partner next to Cade is his hands. High velocity pass while being above his head. Duran snags it like he’s Calvin Johnson. So many centers need passes to be perfect because they have stone hands. It’s the opposite for him. It’s like he has glue on his hands, which gives passers a lot of room for error. But I think the most underrated part of his game is at his massive size. He can dribble and get to the basket when needed. For example, the Pistons have a terrible possession. He’s catching at the logo with eight seconds on the shot clock. No worries. He bails them out. Three setup dribbles to his right into a wicked crossover back the other way. The smoothness is outrageous on that dribble move. I can’t get over it for a guy his size. That that just shouldn’t be possible. And now he rarely ever does this. However, it was so aesthetically pleasing. I have to showcase it. crossover, great contact, spin move into the turnaround jumper. The point I’m trying to get across, he’s not just a play finisher. He’s much more dynamic than giving credit for. And I’m looking at his pullup jumpers and his jump shot. I see something there. If I was a head coach, I would be like, let it fly a little more often. Obviously, you don’t want him relying on it, but if the shot clock’s running down and there’s nothing else, just, you know, give it a try. Some other crazy stats I want to go over. 4.3 offensive rebounds per game, which currently ranks him seventh in the NBA, resulting in 4.8 second chance points per game, which currently ranks him third in the league in those categories. Also, he’s drawing the most fouls of his career by far. That’s a big reason for the leap we are seeing. He’s taking 6.1 free throws per game. His previous careerhigh is 3.1. It will be interesting to see if he can keep that up because that’s a significant jump. Is it real or is it just a hot start? He’s comboing that with extreme efficiency at the strike, 85% from the free throw line. His previous career high was 79%. Also, early on, the most underrated duo on the Pistons involves Jaylen Duran and Isaiah Stewart. That double big lineup has been cooking and it’s something they did not have last season. Isaiah Stewart is back up to 39% from three. Last season he had a down year in that category, 32%. So now they can get away with it offensively and defensively it’s working. It’s crazy. They only played 8 minutes together last regular season. already this season 80 minutes plus 25 as a duo in the plus minus category 122.4 four offensive rating, 108.9 defensive rating. That’s the thing. Jaylen Duran provides so much versatility on both ends of the floor, especially on defense because he can move and slide his feet quickly better than most at his size. And of course, he’s going to protect the rim. Overall, I’m just floored by his production this season. And outside of Cade, it’s the biggest reason why the Pistons are off to such a fast start. Do you think he can keep this up? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.

If he gets that steady Jumper to Fall in more consistently, he's gonna be a problem. Cade to JD reminds me of prime "Stockton to Malone" or "Payton to Kemp"
If he can add playmaking in post a lot he be dangerous long he don’t add 3pt shooting keep it simple let the guards do that but he have such old big game
And we dont need another 7 footer
Remember when the Lakers tried to fleese the Pistons for a trade for Duran.
The fact that they are playing this well WITHOUT Ivy and/or Beasley is scary. Once they get one or both of them back. They will legit be blowing teams out every night.
I respect Tobias Harris, but the Stew’s rim defense only lets JD be more dangerous. I think those two need to start together
The Cade – Ausar – Jalen Trio is the future of the pistons plus stewart and holland off the bench , add veteran presence of tobias – robinson – levert
The pistons gonna contend this year
J D, is the next Mose Malone, but on a whole new level of nba center, of this generation of players. Wow😮😅😂wow J D
New here liked and subscribed
If you compare Cade and Michael Jordan driving the basket, this is what I see….
Jordan drives and flings and wags his tongue and his look is chaotic….
When Cade drives, he is pure artistry with his silky smooth flow and then makes very difficult shots with a liquid like fluidity….
He could average 40 if he wanted …..
Cade & JD finna be Kobe & Shaq of this era look out!
Wait til Ivey is healthy!
I've been waiting for him to attack the rim like this since he got in the league because I saw how ferocious his dunks are.
“Gonna be a problem” lol win something first
Big Fella's game is righteous!!
Eh he will probably end up on the Clippers 😂
Well of course he can keep it up. Have you seen the other big men in this league? lol they all in the perimeter. That’s why so many guys are just getting triple dubs like it’s nothing. In the 90s, early 00s these guys wouldn’t be getting triple doubles every night. The league need big men like Duren. The closer you get the easier the basket. So he will keep it up and Cade will keep getting him the ball. What I like most about my pistons is they play the game how it should be played. They play defense, not crying about fouls every play, Cade isn’t hanging around the rim to stat pad, Duren isn’t popping 3’s all day, Stewart will shoot 3 but still is banging in the paint. Love my squad right now. Reminds me of the early 00s pistons. Just simple basketball with effort on defense.
Antonio Mcdyse or Amari Stoudemire
He’s Karl Malone 2.0 if he gets that middy automatic.
Looks like a Moses/Hakeem combo. Not as polished as they were but big hands and hoop
You are gushing over a bunch of traveling bro.
I always knew this guy was gonna be a beast
Modern day ben wallace
They're starting to look a lot like Jokic & AG
Whats the instrumental song in the background?
Once again, Jaden Ivey?…Jaden Ivey?…
You can see he’s working with Sheed on that turnaround arms extended above his head jumper
Jalen is built like an Edge Rusher in NFL
Duran could be a mvp player at 25
Win the east? Are you kidding me ……
love his power dunks
The new Sean Kemp Rainman 2.0 🚀
I won’t lie, he’s built like a tank 😭
Detroit aint making it past the first round of the playoffs plenty of teams have had great starts to the season only to 💩 the bed towards the end of the season
They put him on my team in my career I thought they was gassing him he literally doing everything he do on the game this season
Old school, 90s type center is back.
