What I kind of hate what AJ Brown has turned into over there, it’s either slant or go when like this guy can do other things on the field. He can run an incut. He can run a skinny post like he can do different things that they’re just not they’re not getting to. And I will say the weird thing about that is usually in a game you go to the receiver that has been the hot hand that’s got it going. And at that time, Devonte Smith was that guy where it was just like, man, it was a comeback or it was the the long ball for the touchdown that you kind of go to in that moment. AJ Brown, even on that deep ball, it was kind of like, man, he’s not really in rhythm. Like the I think the last target he had, I think might have been in the first half for, you know, and now you throw him a gold ball at the end. It it it to me 100% what you said. It felt like here’s our chance to make him the hero. We quiet the noise. He kind of leaves a little bit happy, too. And now this kind of feels like a more of a total complete win if we just get our guy one more catch uh in the biggest moment of the game. And what a difference between AJ Brown and Dvonte Smith. And I’m not making judgment here. You’ve got two different personalities. You got guys who are wired differently. Devonte Smith has every right to be upset at how he’s used. He had four catches, 69 yards, and a touchdown. He can be unstoppable. If he was a team’s number one receiver, he could carry that load. He could be that guy. Yeah, he’s skinny, but it doesn’t matter. And on the touchdown to him, you know, you watch that play to AJ Brown, a little underthrown. The touchdown to Devonte Smith was a little underthrown, too. That was more of a 50/50 than it needed to be. He hits him in stride and that’s not even close. So, you never hear anything from Devonte Smith. There’s never anything directly or indirectly. There’s never any drama, never any noise. And maybe we’re just not looking because AJ Brown is so much easier to notice because it’s a common thing with him. But it’s almost like, and I guess I can relate to this, the Eagles have two really expensive cars that they don’t drive nearly as much as they should. I’ve got one expensive car and one kind of expensive car and I don’t drive either one nearly as much as I should. And if my cars could talk, they would say, “What? Will you please sell me to somebody who will drive me?” You know, and I feel like that both guys have to be thinking that. And maybe Smith just doesn’t say it. Maybe that’s not his way. He’s always seemed kind of quiet and reserved, but maybe he’s thinking the same things AJ Brown is thinking. And you’ve got two high-end receivers who are getting paid. not not absolute top of the market, but one’s close and the other one’s not that far behind and they just don’t get used the way they should. And every time I see it happen, and I maybe that’s why last night’s game was so confusing. I kind of expected the Thursday night 107 because I didn’t have a whole lot of expectations for either offense. Why should we at this point? But I got a lot more expectation with Jaylen Herz and the Eagles, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, Dallas Goddard, Devonte Smith. And then you flip it over to the Packers with Josh Jacobs and Jordan Love. And I know they have issues with injuries at receiver, but hell, when don’t they? And they still get the ball moving. Eagles winning and still miserable
Mike you don't like the Eagles, we get it. You don't like AJ Brown because he is vocal, so what. Instead of whining about AJ not being the type of person you think he should be, why not focus on the fact that he wants to earn his pay, he wants to be involved, he wants the ball. That is 100% positive in my book. The Eagles are still learning and adjusting to a new OC, it takes time, the Eagles had to adjust last year as well. They will be fin.
