Things Just Got VERY INTERESTING For The Cincinnati Bengals…

[Music] Not done yet. That was the message from Joe Burrow yesterday during his press conference after the breaking news report that his 21-day practice window has opened and there’s a possibility that we could see him return as soon as Thanksgiving. Welcome into Bengals breakdown by Chat Sports. I’m your host, Chris Dory, and today we are going to look at what it would take for the Cincinnati Bengals to make an improbable push in making this year’s NFL playoffs. Before we get into that though, guys, we are going to be live for the good, the bad, the ugly for every single Cincinnati Bengals game. So, do not miss out. Make sure you guys hit that sub button and join us right here on Bengals Breakdown. All right, so this was the initial report yesterday from Jay Glazer, which by the way, yesterday when this all broke, we added it to the video. And uh really the the timeline about Thanksgiving was the really thing or really the big thing that I wanted to uh hit on there. But uh I totally overlooked the fact that how just absolutely hilarious this tweet is. the the three or four W’s on way the huge jump for him calling him a G calling uh doctor’s medical people that is absolutely absolutely hilarious but uh the thing there returning by Thanksgiving we’re going to see exactly how the next couple of weeks go and you know we’re going to see how it feels that was pretty much what Joe Burrow continued to say yesterday during his press conference when he was specifically asked about that return timeline he said you know we still have 21 days to figure that out. It could be earlier or it could be later in that window, but we still have a couple of weeks of practice to see how that goes. Now, that was the original report there by Jay Glazer, but then uh this morning, actually, Adam Schffer had another report as well. Basically, what he said was, I think they’re going to target that Thanksgiving game against the Baltimore Ravens. Personally, Adam Sheper thinks the more realistic target for Joe Burrow to be able to return is going to be that very following week against the Buffalo Bills. Now, I tried to do the math there. The Bengals would then have to that 21-day window would actually be the Monday before that Buffalo game. So, that’s when they would actually have to put him there on the 53man roster. And if they don’t by that Monday, well, then he would revert back to IR and uh you know, he would not be eligible for the rest of the season. and we’ll see how the next couple of weeks shake out because if the Bengals continue to lose, well, the Bengals just might elect to not bring Joe Burrow back at the end of the day because right now uh like Joe Burrow said and like we’ll get to here in just a little bit, the division is still wide open that you know there might be a lot of disappointment. There might have been a lot of games so far this year that the Bengals should have won. You think about the Bears game. You think about the Jets game really in particular, those two games. And uh you know, we could be sitting in first place right now if the Bengals just take care of business, make a couple of tackles in those games. But this is where we’re at. And like I said, the division is not over yet. The Bengals can still go on a crazy run here, win the division, and still make this year’s NFL playoffs. So, I want to hear from you guys down inside the comments section. You could be as brutally honest as you want at this. And no, the percentage is very, very low. But let me know what you guys think. What is the percent chance that the Bengals make the playoffs this year? Let me know what you guys think down at the pin comment of today’s video. So, this is what Joe Burrow said during his press conference yesterday about the Bengals playoff chances. He said, “Our division is wide open right now. Pittsburgh is at 5 and four at this point. We will play them this week. Everything is still there in front of us. very rare that our division looks like this, but it does this year. And so, I think we’ll be at or we’ll be at least in it until the very end. He went on said a couple more things there uh and then picked up saying, “I think it would be very difficult for us to be a wildcard team at this point. Obviously, a lot of football has to be played, but no, I think that’s difficult.” Talking about making the wild card versus the division, winning the division there. ends it there saying, “I think our best path would be to win the division.” And right now, the Bengals remaining schedule, it’s still a lot of these games are kind of coin flips right now. You just really don’t know how that defense, I think, is the biggest thing for the Bengals. How they are going to react after this by week. Steelers very winnable game this this week. Uh Patriots, that might be a loss for you. But then the Ravens, they’re kind of up and down. The Bills just lost to the Dolphins, so you never know what could happen there either. Um, you know, the Ravens again, it’s tough, you know, just like the Steelers, it’s tough to beat the Ravens and the Steelers, both those teams twice in the same season. Uh, then the Dolphins are kind of a dumpsters fire, but then they also beat the Bills a couple last week. So, yeah, you just really don’t know. A lot of these games could be toss-ups. And if the Bengals defense, you know, I hate that people or I hate and I know that people hate it as well when Zack Taylor goes out there in the press conference and says, you know, if we just have a couple of plays fall our way, if somebody just ends up making one extra play, those are winnable games. And I know everybody hates to hear that, but you know, and I hate it, too. But Zack Taylor is right when it comes to that. If they could just make a couple more plays on the defensive side of the ball, maybe get a couple of more turnovers. This this season is still not over for this Cincinnati Bengals team, but like we’ll get to here in just a little bit. It is going to be very hard and it is definitely unprobable, but it is not impossible. All right, before we continue, it is Veterans Day today, so we want to shout this out. The salute to service hoodie. You guys can go get that. It’s the uh Bengals salute to service hoodie there. Got the American flag patch on the other side. Nike, solid quality there. Really, really solid hoodie. So, uh, if you guys want that, the link’s going to be down in the comments section and the description of today’s video is chatsports.com/benglesvets to get that salute to service hoodie today. All right, so this is where we were at. We had pretty much the same exact record. The by-week came one more week later. I think the Bengals were 4-3 going into the by or excuse me, four- six going into the bye-week last year. Right now, they’re at three and six. So, you’re pretty much in the same exact spot here. You know, you started off in September really, really bad. Uh you get that one win against the uh Panthers there and then you lose again against the Ravens. Then you win three out of four there and then, you know, it’s still kind of it’s like, man, when can we go on a run? You go to the Chargers game right before the by-week, you lose that game. You have the bye-week, you play the Steelers right after the by-week, and that was another one where it’s just like, man, can we just get one stop to try to win this football game? Then after that, the Bengals end up winning their last five games of the season. That’s kind of where we’re at right now. If you know the Bengals can go on this uh, you know, crazy run to, you know, win, you you probably only have like one maybe two games to spare at this point in the season right now. But when you’re looking at the remaining strength of schedule here for the Bengals, it’s actually not as good as it was a couple of weeks ago. When you look at the AFC North, the Bengals have the 24th lowest strength of schedule. The rest of the AFC North is right there together. So, um, you know, couple of weeks ago, the Bengals had the lowest strength of schedule. They had the easiest schedule remaining. You know, obviously things have played out and, uh, you know, things have changed at this point. So, now in the AFC North, they have the toughest strength to schedule, but still it’s not really that hard. And you know, I if you can just string some of these wins together, man, this could end up being, you know, an improbable comeback for the Cincinnati Bengals to end up making it here into this year’s NFL playoffs. It all starts this week though after the by-week playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. Get down in the comments section and show your hate to Pittsburgh. Type F pit down in the comments section of today’s video. All right, so kind of crazy, too. Last year at this point, the Bengals had a 28% chance of making the NFL playoffs. As it sits right now, you have an 8% chance of making the playoffs and you have a 7% chance of winning the division, which I think, you know, honestly is kind of backwards. Um, you know, this is from ESPN, but um, you know, I I think you probably have a better shot of winning the division right now instead of necessarily, you know, going and getting one of those wild card spots. And granted, you know, I, you know, I’m saying all of this talking about the Bengals winning streak to end the season last year, they still missed the playoffs. But, you know, if a couple of things just go right for the Bengals here in this final stretch, if they could have gone right for the Bengals in that final stretch, just starting a little bit sooner, they could have made the playoffs. And I know almost making the playoffs is nobody’s goal. Everybody wants to make the playoffs. Everybody wants to go and win a Super Bowl. And it might be a little bit delusional of me, maybe even very delusional of me that I think that the Bengals can go on another run this season and make the playoffs, but we have seen it in the past and this is what, you know, this is where we are right now. So, we have to accept that. And, you know, if you’re this far into the video, you know, just like me, I’m going to continue watching every single Bengals game for the rest of the season. So, I’m going to continue to try to hold the line, hold on to the remaining faith that I have right now in this Bengals team to be able to turn things around after this by week here and go on a run, try to beat the Steelers, try to beat the Ravens a couple of times and uh, you know, finish it out. Hopefully, you get Joe Burrow back sooner rather than later. And hopefully that defense can help you out as well. So, like I said just a second ago, it all starts this week. Who you guys got in this one? Let me know. Type B for the Bengals or type S for the Steelers. [Music]

  1. If joe was smart. He would not take a single snap this year. Chance of injury behind that offensive line is too great. The defense is still terrible
