BREAKING: Cleveland Guardians Manager Stephen Vogt Wins 2nd Consecutive AL Manager of the Year Award

Guardians manager Steven Vote was named 2025 AL manager of the year by the Baseball Writers America Association. Um, not really a surprise, but kind of because Guardians won the division last year and we’re expected to be contenders again this year. Normally, this award goes to managers who are managing a team that have no expectations going in or low expectations. Um, like the Brewers, Pat Murphy won for back-to-back years. Nobody expected the Brewers to be as good as they were this year as they were a year ago. So, actually both manager of the year awards end up going backto back years for both guys. Um, they joined Bobby Cox and Kevin Cash from the Rays is the only backto-back winners. Terry Franka won three in 10 years here 2013, 2016, 2022. And now Steven votes two for two in two years as the Guardians manager. Says a lot about the things he’s done, especially the way he guided the Guardians through some very dark periods this year. 10ame losing streak. And of course, you all know about the class A and RTS thing. Uh, nobody else has on their resume had to deal with a gambling scandal like this and win the manager of the year award, too. So, even though these are symbolic awards that end up being really meaning nothing, I think it’s interesting that at least they’ve gave it to somebody who um won it a year ago and had normal expectations for the year, but took into account what happened throughout the season with the team.
