With Nico finally gone and Luka's player option in 2028, how likely is it that he even considers coming back to us? What are the necessary conditions for this to become a reality?

Unfortunately, he’s never coming back.

This is me reaching, but when Caleb Pressley interviewed Luka on “Sundae Conversation”, Luka acknowledged California’s high state taxes, and that he would consider playing somewhere with no state tax.
Will this factor at all in 2028 when it comes to considering the Mavericks offer versus what we can anticipate the Lakers offering him in 2028? Please give me hope
Luka was humiliated by the Mavericks. Nico might have been driving the truck, but the damage is still done.
Maybe 9 or 10 years from now we’ll see him again, but it would be after his prime with a lot of distance between from the current issues. My guess is he never plays for Dallas again unfortunately.
Trade AD, Flagg, Klay, and a first rounder for Luka
He’s the key component of the most known NBA team in the world and the biggest market in the league now. He’s not coming back.
We need to stock the front office full of people he likes, get a coach he likes, and basically build around him wihtout him being there, hoping it will entice him back
the odds go from 0 to 1 in a million if Dumont is gone and we hire everyone he likes.
Bring him home would be an INCREDIBLE Chant when he comes to town.
Delusional.
We should hire Dirk to be GM…
At best and if we are lucky.. he signs a 1 day contract at the end of his career to retire a Maverick (like Aaron Rodgers is supposedly going to do with the Packers).
He’ll make a ton more money in advertising in LA. He has bought a 25 million house on the beach. The team has great vibes. They all love coach JJ. Luka would have to leave money on the table again, to not resign with the Lakers in 28. The Mavs completely fucked him mentally. He was shocked and really sad when he was traded.
There is absolutely no chance at all he ever comes back.
Zero.
This made me chuckle
This has been my dream since the trade but I don’t think he’s coming with the scumbags running the team.
The team would need to be sold. Good ownership with Dirk somehow heavily involved and maybe other people Luka likes.
Flagg ready to contend. Hopefully another young star from the 2026 draft and maybe other really good young players that we could have picked up from trading veterans.
Lakers need to falter and not be able to win and maybe the asshole privileged fan base turns on Luka.
Dirk and others put the full court press to bring him home.
AI slop
lol wtf
Dallas isn’t his home anymore.
This is pointless
Like LeBron going back to Cleveland 🥲 one can dream
He won’t come home in 28. Maybe when he’s washed like KG in Minny and Wade in Miami.
Why would he come back to an ownership that traded him for nothing?
I think there is a chance if.
New ownership, a plus if it led by Nowitzki’s group
Everyone he thinks that is a part of the trade are gone
Everyone he likes from the front office are back
If he won mvp and a championship as a laker
Thats a lot of things that should happened in only 3 yrs.
Honestly superstars don’t leave the Lakers, they either retire as one, or are dumped.
