Angels ADD John Gibbons and Adam Eaton to Coaching Staff! #RepTheHalo #GoHalos #Angels #LTBU

The Angels have added two more to their coaching staff for 2026. What’s going on everybody? John Fresh, one half of Lockdown Angels. John Gibbons, former manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, will be the bench coach to Kurt Suzuki in 2026. And then Adam Eaton, former Halo, who ended his career in Anaheim, but he’s best known for his time with the Diamondbacks, the White Socks, and then winning a World Series with Kurt Suzuki in 2019 as a member of the Washington Nationals. He’s going to be the first base coach and most importantly the outfield instructor for the Halos. I’ll talk about Eaton here. Uh there was one particular year in right field in 2016 for the White Socks. 28 defensive runs saved and 18 outs above average for Adam Eaton. Certainly a great defender over the course of his career. had some, you know, good years, some not so good years, but I think he’s a great choice to be the outfield instructor for the Halos. Let me talk about Gibby for a second. John Gibbons was the Blue Jays manager from 2004 to 2008 and then again from 2013 to 2018. And if you recall those 2015 and 2016 teams with the likes of Joseé Bautista, Josh Donaldson, uh Edwin and Kashian, I hated those teams because they would kick our butts every time. And it’s no surprise they made it to the ALCS in both of those years. They didn’t make it to the World Series, but they did get to the ALCS. What I like about those teams is I I went and looked at the numbers in particular 2015, the lowest K rate, the highest walk rate, and the most home runs in the league. So, their approach at the plate was going right. Now, Gibbons has been the bench coach for the Mets the last two years, uh, as a another firsttime manager, Carlos Mendoza, took over the Mets there. So, this will be good for Kurt Suzuki, I think, as well. We’ll talk about it all on Locked on Angels.
