Don’t Panic

  1. Personally I wanted to trade him 2 years ago. Everyone said I was rebarded. I stand by my theory that these big goalies with a LBI history don’t come back anymore.

  2. People don’t like negativity but personally I think deluded optimism is just as bad. Everyone needs to recognize that this is a team barely hanging on, if at all.

  3. With his injury history and especially missing pretty much all of last year, the 3 X $8.5 million seemed like far too much, even at the time.

  4. Why would I panic? I know we aren’t making the playoffs. I know we aren’t keeping Hughes. I know we still won’t rebuild. No panic here, just sadness.

  5. I really wish they’d have just rolled 3 goalies. The most predictable thing ever occurred. Good thing we extended him…

  6. Welp. It took longer than I thought. He lasted nearly 20 games. Good thing we didn’t make a huge package with Demko + EP40 + 7 million on Kane to get a real first line. We could have had anybody for that money.

Silovs btw is the best goalie of the three at .916 on the season. Great job, Front office!

  7. This roster is constructed just terribly. They lost about 230 points from players (mostly centres) and never really replaced them

Unless Miller is actively committing a crime and holding players at knife point, you can’t panic trade a 100 point guy without a plan to replace him. They thought they could make another quick fix trade and fundamentally misread the market, not realizing 100 point Centres value WAY HIGHER than above average d-men
