Sounds of the Game: Jaguars Win a Nail-Biter in Overtime vs. Raiders | Jacksonville Jaguars

And as expected, the Raiders will go for two and try and win the game. Raiders make the two-point conversion. They win the game. The Jags stop them. They win the game. It’s going to come down to one play from the two-yd line. What drama here in Las Vegas? Here we go. From the two-yd line, the two-point conversion attempt. Las Vegas. at the play. It looked like the old team for no points in the first 29 minutes of the half. It’s a big number to stands out. Time of possession 1158 for the Jags. Just 302 for the Raiders, but the Jags nothing to show for it, Jeff, after a very critical interception by Trevor Lawrence. Yeah, that hurts. and and what that interception does, it also gives a little bit of juice to a team that really hasn’t been playing well and gives them some positivity. So, here we go. First and goal Raiders from the seven of Jacksonville. 39 seconds in the half. Shotgun for Gino Smith. He drops. It’s another blitz. Fires right side. That ball’s going to be a one-handed catch, but he is not inbound. A one-handed catch by Bowowers. He was covered by Greg Nuome, but he was out of bounds. I want to see this one again. That’s an amazing catch. And ah this is pretty close, Frank. This might warrant a review here. One foot is in and then you know the butt hits and the butt looks like it’s down before any other piece in the field of play in the end zone. But I don’t know. After review, receiver controlled the pass and his backside landed in the end zone for a touchdown. Touchdown for the Raiders. First points of the game. Daniel Carlson now on for the extra point. Kicks it up and the extra point is no good. You talked about it, Jeff. He has struggled. He blocked it out to the right. So with 35 seconds to play in the half, the Raiders lead Jacksonville six to nothing. The Jags do have one timeout with which to work in those 35 seconds. Everything we want is out there. Got to clean up well. Running good. Sounds good. You got time. You got time. You work the boundary, keep that one time out in your pocket. But look, if you get a completion in the middle field, okay, great. Use the timeout for that and then use the boundary to get the play clock stopped in the future. 20 seconds left in the half. You got the ball on your own 32 yd line after a one-yd gain. Shotgun for Trevor dropping the throw. Fourman rush looking. Fires that one deep downfield to the far sideline. It is caught. Tackled around the 49 yd line, but the clock is going to turn here. The Jags are going to have to get up and try and spike it. 8 seconds to play. He was tackling in the field of play. 5 seconds and Trevor will spike it with 4 seconds left in the half. Good job right there by the offense getting down the field lined up to spike it. Now you send your kicker out for last second try. It’ll be a 68 y. You know he made the 70 y in the preseason. Now we saw him make the one at 70. Look, in the last two games he’s missed two field goals and an extra point. You talk about getting some confidence back. You drove this one right here and you got it back. So here we go. A 68 y from the left hash out of the hold of Logan Cook. Logan puts it down. Kim Little kicks it up. The 68 yd field goal is good. Go. No. What the talking about? He drilled in from 68 yardds on the last play of the half. How good is that? Outstanding. And here’s the thing. You just got a form of energy as a football team on that 68 yd field goal. Cam Little from 68 yds. And we’ve reached the half. [Applause] Jeff, a a really unusual half. The story of the half in addition to the way it ended was the Jags continue to hurt themselves with penalties. I mean, there’s no doubt. I mean, there was one drive where they had three penalties alone on offense that just kept setting them back. But congratulations because Cam Little, I don’t even think he got all of that one, Frank, to be honest with you. I’ve seen him kick it farther, better, but an NFL records. And here’s the best thing about that kick. This football team needed a little bit of energy. And I think that that field goal made from 68, I think it gave this team a little bit of juice and hopefully it carries here into the second half. Get to our rush. Hands up. Not getting there. Hands up. Add them all. Hey, y’all already know what to do. Y’all already know what to do. Let’s go. Y’all know what to do. Dominate. Dominate. They can’t y’all. They can’t with y’all. Gino Smith was 14 of 20 in that first half for 113 yards and that one touchdown on the great catch by Brock Bowers. Ashton Genty, the rookie running back, sixth overall pick in the draft. Seven carries for 38 yds in the first half. Two left, one right shotgun for Gino Smith. Genty, the running back. Smith dropped. They blitz, fires right side. That ball is going to be Did Montrick Brown pick it off? Yes, he did. He broke on the ball. Montterk picked it off. He jumped in front of Michael Mayer. He picked it off at the 32 yd line on the Raiders. He might have been He might have dead be aggressive and shoot that. This will be a 33 y from the middle of the field to tie the ball game. Logan puts it down. Little kicks it up and the field goal is good and we have a tie ball game. Six- to6. Carlson on now for a 24 yd field goal from the right half. AJ Cole puts it down. Carlson kicks it up and the chip shot field goal is good. And the Raiders have retaken the lead. Let’s go to the zone. Let’s go. Let’s go. We got to win this elevation. Let’s go. Hunt motions left and then back right again. Play fake. Trevor fires at Logan. He caught at Parker Washington 45 yd line 50 into Raider territory. A crossing route to Parker Washington. Boy, he’s had a good game today. more than a yard and a half. What does Liam Cohen come up with? They run an option. They pitch it to the left to Travis CTN and he’s going to have the first down. That is a terrific play goal. Let’s go. First go. Second and goal from the seven yd line. Shotgun for Trevor. Dropping the quarterback roll. Trevor to the five into the end zone. Touchdown. Another terrific play call. A quarterback draw and Trevor ran it into the end zone to give the Jaguars the lead. That’s what you ask for, right? Great job. Go. Second and five from the 15 of the Jags. Jags lead 13-9. We’re inside of 10 minutes to play in the ball game. Miss Blitz, but all blitz this time. They throw a screen to the left side. That’s Genty to the 15 yd line. Broke a tackle. Five into the end zone. 15 yd touchdown and the Raiders have retaken the lead just like that with 938 to play in the game. I know you want to talk. That’s all I know. Dropping the throw. Looking looking fires deep downfield. Almost caught at the first down. Brian Thomas Jun made a man miss 45 yd line inside the 45. That’s a terrific play by Brian Thomas Jr. the running back. They toss it to the left of Travis. He’s got the running room inside the 20 inside the 50. still on his feet. Broke a tackle to the 5 yd line. That’s good run by Travis ETN. Touchdown into the end zone. Touchdown. A oneyd touchdown run by Beel Tuton. And the Jags have retaken the lead here in Las Vegas. Oh, baby. One. Oh, never mind. Dropping the throw against that fourman rush. fires middle of the field almost caught 15 10 five and into the end zone. Who else? Brock Powers with a 27 yd touchdown. What are you doing, man? Just noisy here. Another blitz. Trevor checks it down again to Travis CTN. Travis got hit. Broken tackle still on his feet. That is good running. That’s going to be a first down to the 46 yd line. Dropping his server at the blitz. with another blitz. Trevor fires crossing around caught still on his feet on the left sideline and runs out of bounds. That is a terrific catch. That is Tim Jones in the game. 48 y from the left half to tie the game. Logan Cook puts it down. Ken Little kicks it up and the field goal is good. And we are tied. He drilled it. Dino Smith in a shotgun. The Jackson has dropped many people. He looks up. He’s going to get hit. He’s going to get sacked. And that will take us to zero. And we are headed to overtime in the desert. [Music] Gentlemen, congratulations. Outstanding play during the first four quarters. Time to discuss the overtime proceeds. If a safety score on the first possession, the game is over. Scoring team wins. However, if a field goal or touchdown score, the opponent will have possession. Both teams have two full times. Neither team has any replay challenges. Replay timing will be just like fourth grade except it will be a 10-minute quarter score still tied 10 minutes to the top. Jacksonville’s rising team with all the toss heads tails. What’s your choice? Tails bank. [Music] Tails Jacksonville’s won the toss. [Music] Jacksonville won the toss. Full rece overtime kickoff. [Music] The Jags win the toss. They get the ball first. They have scored on their last five possessions, including all four in the second half. To the sidelines with Bucky Brooks. Buck. Yeah, guys, with the offense going on the field, we got some injuries that we have to deal with. Ezra is currently looked at under the tent. You’re talking about a mass unit, Frank. Boy, you really are no Demi Brown. You know, Travis Hunter is gone for four weeks. Brian Thomas Jr. nicked a little bit. That’s your three starting receivers. So, it is a mass unit. No question about it. All right, let’s control. Let’s go right now. He’s coming to help us. We got to go. And and a great way to start this off would be a big kick return from Basel Toot and he’s the guy because Austin Traml is now back there because Deami Brown is hurt. Okay. So you you would expect that the Raiders are going to try to kick it to Austin Traml. If he does get it, he’s got to hold on to the ball. Carlton kicked it. It will be Austin Tremble. He’ll field it at the two yd line to the 10, 15, 20 yardd line to the middle of the field. Got a little bit of run around 30. Austin Treble into the open field. 40 45 yd line into Raiders territory. How about that? Austin Travel just called up on the practice squad. He just ran it back to the 44 yd line of the Las Vegas Raiders. That’s how you show up, Trev. Still no Brian Thomas Jr., no Demi Brown. You’re down your top three receivers dropping fourman rush. Trevor looks fires downfield. That’s caught Parker Washington and he’s in the ball game. He’s got a catch and a first down to the 32 yd line on the Las Vegas Raiders. ETN running to the right. Cuts it back to the middle of the field. That’s a good run. Stays on his feet. That’s going to be another first down. Travis ETN got it to the 22 yd line. Bial tootin the running back now. Right up the middle. All kind of yards. 11 more yards and a first down. Let’s go. Hey, right now. Hey, right now. Hey, come on, baby. Come on. Here we go. Balls on the 1 inch line. Maybe under center is Trevor. Quarterback think he was in. Touchdown. He dove over the top. He extended the football. Trevor has scored with 324 to go in overtime. over. Eight straight running plays on that drive. Eight straight running plays. Can the Jags defense get a stop here? Dropping a Smith. Looking looking, scrambling to his right. Little scrambling. He’s going to hit. They’re going to sack him. They’re going to sack him at the 45 yd line. Josh Hy Allen got him. Second down goal. 20 seconds to play. 30-23. The Jags lead it. And if the Raiders score, end the game in a tie with an extra point or they can go for two for the win. Smith looks looks fires back in the end zone. Caught Bowers touchdown. And as expected, the Raiders will go for two and try and win the game. Raiders make the two-point conversion. They win the game. The Jags stop them, they win the game. It’s going to come down to one play from the 2-yd line. What drama here in Las Vegas? Here we go from the 2-yd line. The two-point conversion attempt. [Applause] Knock down. Knock down. Knock down. Knock down. Come on, Hamilton. Knock it down. It’s no good. The JS win it. to win it. How good is that? [Applause] Like I said, what a play by Devon Hamilton. He knocked it down at the line of scrimmage and Jacksonville holds on. Devon Hamilton finds a way to get a hand up and that picnic clinches the game for the Jaguars. And this is one of those games that there’s going to be a lot of guys that are sore and gassed because they gave everything they had not just in regulation, but an extra 10-minute period in overtime. Tiffany captain Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence was really sick before the game. 23 of 34 for 220 yards and led some big drives. Very proud. very woo. After Ken Little made the 68 yd field goal, an NFL record, Jeff, at the end of the half, the Jags literally scored on five straight possessions. Every possession they had the ball after they scored on that field goal. This was a gutsy win, man. If I was one of the reasons Liam Cohen talked about many times to his football team is that, you know, at some point you’re going to face adversity. Well, this was real. I mean, I’m talking real adversity where you’re playing guys that are like at the the very last end of the line, guys. And they all of them made plays. I mean, that’s exactly what it takes to win games is to have guys step up and make plays when they did. He said he said we it’s a character win and it was there was toughness. The team that wins a game like this makes one more play and Devon Hamilton boy I’m so happy for Devon. Devon Hamilton made one more play at the end of the game. We got the D today and let’s go man. Great job, bro. Great job, buddy. Unbelievable, man. Great job, man. How’s that? Unbelievable job, guys. Real quick, guys. So many dudes stepped up today. So many guys stepped up today. Unbelievable job. Devon Hamilton and the game. Unbelievable job. Hey Josh Hines Allen tying the franchise. Hey. Hey. How about our quarterback, man? Hey guys. O line running. Unbelievable job guys. Hey man, that’s an NFL football win. That’s called responding. Responding and staying the course. And how about our kicker camera? Let’s go. Unbelievable win, man. Hey guys, keep staying the course. I promise you. Keep staying the course. I love you. I’m so proud to be your coach. So proud to be your coach. Fun win. Fun game. So many people contributed to it. Great job. Listen, that’s an NFL freaking record, baby. You hear me? 68 yard, [Applause] man. Hey, J on me. J on three. 1 2 3 ass baby.

After a slow first half, the Jaguars trade punches with the Raiders. Cam Little sets an NFL record. Davon Hamilton seals the win in a goal-line stand. Watch the cinematic recap on Sounds of the Game, presented by Your Southern Ford Dealers.

  1. Hey Jags media team! You guys did an incredible job capturing the feel of being at the game. It was one of the most intense games I've been to (and I've been to several Jags playoff games through the years).

The lack of acknowledgement from the Raiders on Cam Little's history making kick was kind of crazy and you guys did a great job of showing the stadium being almost dead silent. The announcer in the stadium didn't say anything about it being a record either.

Also, kudos for showing the stress of the coin toss for OT. I swear that none of the Jags fans in my section (myself included) were breathing that whole time just waiting to see if we would get the ball first or not. It seemed like the coin toss took an eternity.

This was a fun video and you guys nailed it as always!

  2. They beat the Raiders…barely…how can they be this damn happy? I would be severely disappointed and yet they acted like they won a Super Bowl when they barely beat another horrible team…the Jags suck period…and as a Jags fan that sucks

  3. Love how fired up Coen was after! You can tell him and the other coaches are really working together to build this thing up. Chad Morton cooked up that running gameplan nice.

  4. Love my Jags Duuuvalll DTWD ❤ BTW the 68 yarder was tipped so it would have been good by 70 or 72…he will beat his own record!

  5. I love this! We get pumped at every win regardless who it is!! Love this team. Coach c we are so glad you choose to come to Jacksonville!!! Love you guys! Last but not least… CAM LITTLE BABY!!!!

  6. It wasn't pretty, but the guys refused to quit. Trevor was playing insane in the second half and OT. Great kick by Cam, tough running backs and everybody was stepping up. Great team effort.

  7. Watching this makes me realize that JHA got screwed haha, both of those sacks were solo, but they gave him a .5 and kept him from breaking the record.

  8. The fact that the Raiders were able to get down there and get the TD with under 4 minutes left says a lot about our defense, we're going to have to be able to stop the better teams from ever even getting the score in the first place,, and being the most penalized team in the league isn't something that you want to be the leader in,, and of course Trevor throwing into double coverage at the freaking goal line when it's not even 3rd down,, wtf bro,, we aren't going to be able to continue with the penalties and some of those throws if we want to get past the Colts or much less the really good teams,, we can hopefully get a Wildcard game, but a Division title isn't in the cards playing like we are,,
