Still not a fan of how much we had to give up for a 3C and a 4th line winger. Brinds was bad enough, but we also sent them a 3rd and 2nd rounder that could be relatively high if this trend continues.
I think the team is going to regret trading Brindley in the long term. But awesome to see him having some NHL success already.
I like Wood and Coyle but I don’t like the trade. Didn’t like it at the time and it has aged even worse.
An awful trade at the time that keeps getting worse.
You can like Coyle and Wood but we paid a dollar for 50 cents. Especially since Coyle only has this year left on his deal.
Didn’t like the trade at the time, but not terribly mad about it now.
Brindley honestly looked good for how little he played, but it’s clear that Waddell wanted to bring in some experience and size to the locker room to address that immediate *need*.
Both Coyle and Wood have been solid and drive play and buy us a bit more time to develop prospects we have so I’m not terribly mad about the situation. Could inevitably look much worse if Brindley pans out into an absolute stud though.
Wood and Coyle are 4-5 inches taller and have 40 pounds on Brindley. Brindley has no spot on this team. We wouldn’t trade chinakhov for him today, and he is a 4th liner.
Good for him. People have been dwelling on it too much though. Wood and Coyle have fit in nicely, and Brindley wasn’t gonna get much ice time here.
Good for him, honestly. There really wasn’t a spot for him on the Jackets, and he was near invisible in Cleveland last season. I don’t know what he could have done here to make an impact given how crowded the spots were. Not every prospect is going to work out for the team that drafts them, and that’s okay.

Good for him! Glad he’s getting a shot
