Not particularly we need to actually start making some sort of tangible plan other than sticking band aids over cracks. He’s a DH he will want 4+ years and probably a shed load of money. We need to stop this we can fix him pitcher stuff too
I’ve always liked him. I still think of him as a Cub. If the Mets sign both him and Alonso, it’ll probably be 100HR/400K between the two of them.
No!
He’s a great DH and will get paid but not the fit here unless you tell me they’re moving Vientos + not signing Alonso
If those guys are out via trade (Mark) and walking (Pete) you will need a banger in the lineup behind Soto/Lindor
No!
Not really but if he’s in blue & orange, fk it.. there are worse things
They signed him. They won’t sign Pete.
Knowing the Mets luck he’ll bat .175 and strikeout 230 times.
No. And also, fuck no.
Nah
Only for 2 yr deal or less. So basically no
No. His numbers will drop playing in Citifield compared to Citizens bank for 82 games. Id rather Pete.
No
Absolutely not.
Not opposed to it, but it would have to be on a short term deal, and it would mean moving Vientos. I don’t think it necessarily means we don’t resign Pete, I know this front office wants to improve defensively but if you only sign Schwarber for 2 guaranteed years for example, there’s a world where they leave Pete at first for those two years and move him to predominately DH afterwards
He’s a great hitter, but this team has too many roster spots taken up by guys who can’t field.
Yes!!!!!
I don’t see Philly letting him get away honestly.
Only if they also signed Pete.
Makes no sense to bring in another guy that has to DH when they have multiple players that would be better off as a DH.
No. The Mets need a couple of good pitchers.
We do not
We don’t have room for him and Pete. But I have always liked Schwarbz
