LIVE: Postgame vs. Canucks | November 11, 2025

[Music] Hey, you know, [Music] You are [Music] doing it. [Music] with hey my baby. Hey Do it. [Music] Do it. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Sorry about that. What do you make of that overall that game? Um, yeah. I thought it was a lot better. uh just faster, quicker, better execution. I liked our start and then they get two quick ones and we kind of answer right back. So, um you know, I like our battle. I like our compete. I liked us getting pucks below the goal line, you know, sustaining some shifts and um obviously we we let them get back in it near the end, but uh you I thought we did a really good job of protecting the middle and you know, when we needed him, Hely made some huge stops for us. a bounce back after they score a couple goals just given the way this trip had started. What does that say about your Yeah, you know what I every team’s going to go through patches of play where they don’t like or they’re not getting the results and you know it we didn’t like how we played in California. It was no secret uh we need to be a lot sharper. We need to be a little quicker, you know, more competitive in our battles and and things like that. And you know, I thought right from the start of the game, you know, Sha’s line goes out and they have a great shift, you know, sustain some some pressure and, you know, we’re able to build some momentum off that and Taser’s line gets a big goal for us just to get us, you know, feeling good. We hadn’t really played with a lead this trip. Um, you know, we hadn’t put ourselves in a good position. So, um, you know, there’s been some meetings, some video, and, you know, a lot of the stuff we were doing in the previous three games was self-inflicted. I think, you know, that that’s the thing where, you know, we know when we play to our system, to our structure, and we execute the game plan. You know, we’re a real good hockey team. I think we showed it tonight. Power play two gets off the night. Yeah. you know, um, from the bench, it’s it’s great to see, you know, they’ve they’ve had their looks, but, uh, to get two tonight, um, you know, one at a critical time to tie the game after, you know, our PK gives one up and then, um, to give us that two goal cushion to start the third period. Unbelievable play by G. Um, you know, to spin and put it where he did. But, uh, you know, our power play, yeah, they had gone through a cold stretch, but they’ve been great for us all year. They’ve won us a bunch of games early on. um you know when other parts of our game weren’t good. So so many skilled players on both units, it was just a matter of time. Thanks everyone. [Music] [Music] [Music] a little more like jet hockey, Josh, today. Yeah, I think just for us um you know, obviously we didn’t start this road trip how we wanted to and uh you know, I think it it really comes down to just little battles, you know, up up in that intensity and compete level and uh it’s a fine line out there between winning and losing NHL. And um you know, I thought tonight from the start of the game just our 50/50 battles were a lot better, you know, and that’s five on five and that’s also special teams power play uh with you know, a couple big goals. So, um, it was it was a nice to get back on track. You really drove the play yourself personally. Was that something you were kind of taking upon yourself to have a big outing tonight? I think just, you know, everybody everybody wanted to step up when, you know, you lose a few games in a row. Um, you know, we had a great meeting uh this morning actually as a group uh you know and and just kind of talked about what our identity is and uh you know I like I said I felt like everybody raised their intensity level and you know as a leader on the team uh you know you know you want to be part of part of leading that charge. What do you think of that game back end? Yeah, it’s pretty sweet. Um, I mean, McDavid had one the other night and I guess Gabe kind of had something similar, but uh, we’ll tell him they’re the same type of skater, but yeah, it was pretty pretty unreal. He’s so crafty uh, in the slot and around the net and um, you know, unbelievable play. What did it mean to get the power play going too? Yeah, it was big. I mean, we want to be um a difference maker in a positive way for the group and um you know, whether it’s of course trying to score goals, but also trying to bring momentum and build momentum for the shifts after if we don’t score. So, um you know, I thought we did a good job of uh both units going out there competing. Uh they’re pretty aggressive on the kill, so kind of just taking what they give give you and uh we had some good looks and it was nice to get a few. We’ve had a little too much practice out of it, but what do you think the way the D held up after Hayden left the end? Yeah, it’s tough to lose a guy always. Um but uh you know, we did a good job of managing that. Um Dean did a good job of kind of I think good flow back there. you know, it’s a little bit tough um down to five and and uh we just like I said, it’s a game for us, not so much about the X’s and O’s, but just up in that compete level and intensity level and you know, the five guys that um you know, had to play after the game that way, I thought did a great job of doing that as well. Thank you guys. [Music] [Music] Hey, data. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] down. [Music] Hey, with a [Music] Okay, you get the first one. Good stuff. Uh Josh said you guys had an important meeting about getting back to your identity. What did you see on that front tonight? Uh yeah, that was obviously uh looked a lot more like how we want to play for 60 minutes. Um, you know, they were quick, they were, um, obviously, you know, attacking, but I thought we did a real good job of trying to really protect the guts of the ice. 200 f feet coming all the way up the ice and, um, real good start to the, uh, start of the game. Uh, you know, even though we got down, uh, I just like the way we stayed after them and, um, you know, it was a good solid group. Everybody bounced back how we hoped they would. It was a team effort, but how would you describe the performance from Josh today? Sort of way. Yeah, certainly when Yeah. when you lose a defenseman and you’re down to five, excuse me, early in the second period, you know, he’s one of the guys his minutes are going to go way up. I thought all of them did a really good job of uh of making sure that uh you know they were uh they were at their best and I thought our Fords uh we talked about them doing some heavy lifting with only 5D and I thought they did did a real good job of not giving up oddman situations oddman rushes the other way and uh which we did a lot of in Anaheim and I thought we did a really good job of tonight of not allowing that to happen. It was a bit of an awkward fall for Flurry after the hit on Besser. Wasn’t it? It was from when he took the puck in the No, it’s upper body. You’re You’re getting closer, but it’s upper body. Okay. Power play. Get it going tonight. Yeah. You know what? You know, obviously we uh you need your power play to go. Um sometimes you do create the chances, sometimes you’re getting opportunities and the puck isn’t going in. Um you know, we had some good meetings this morning. Davis talked to them um more about sort of our details of our power play. I thought tonight they were bang on and uh when you get that first one, J Mo scores then all of a sudden now you could see the confidence we could have had. We had some really good looks. You know, obviously Sh had a great one, but then just a great play by Gabe there. But both units I thought u you know, our entries were way better. Our help on faceoffs, uh retrievalss, our attacks, all those things were, you know, a lot a lot more the way how we want them to look. Talked about in the morning. Would you describe the secondary scoring that you had as well today? Yeah, we we talked about it, right? We uh we we’ve been relying an awful lot on our top guys and tonight, you know, we uh we got it and that’s what we need. We need that. You know, JT’s line got one. Uh LA’s line got one and that that that’s just takes some heat off of uh you know, the opposition, excuse me, our top guys and makes the opposition kind of adjust to whoever’s out there. And I the one thing I liked about it five on five is we crashed the net. We got inside, we went to the net. We got some greasy goals and that’s what you have to do. How would you describe that Vali backhand? Impressive. Pretty impressive. Thanks, [Music] [Music]
