Washington Capitals at Carolina Hurricanes | Game Highlights | 11.11.2025

[Music] Knights only played seven minutes and 19 seconds in that game. Carolina brings a four-game winning streak to the ice tonight. And here we go. The opening draw is taken by Washington. They’ll slipped across. Mc long drive from just inside the blue line. Anderson no problem with the Terraari try. Carolina trying to clear out in front side of the net. will score. Brandon Duane got loose. Ethan Frank helped delivered it across and Washington gets the first goal of this game. It’s one- nothing Caps. Had a really good start to this game after Washington won a board battle by going low. Doubt was just protecting the puck. Heck of a pass to the middle and then Frank who drew the Washington power play earlier makes the extra pass for a pretty easy finish for Duhane. Drop it back. Jarvis across for a now sharp out in front and a huge save on Jarvis by Thompson. You can’t draw it up any better. And that is Logan Thompson’s best save by far of this first period. A T for him. You draw a penalty in the process and here was that point blank chance. Oh, it looks like he gets it with the shaft of his stick. Tremendous movement. As much as we are enjoying this, he would much rather be having Trip break down what you do on the ice. But I would love to be out there right now. Now, here comes a chance for Washington. It up for Stro and he scores. Dylan Stro’s fifth of the year as he goes top corner and it’s two nothing Washington. What do you see here? Slaves long second period change. Ovetkin makes a before the shot back bar. Yeah, I think it just starts at the blue line. We have the puck on our stick. We just got to get got to get it all the way deep. Those are those neutral zone turnovers that um always end up leading to chances against a lot of times ends up in the back of the net. So, uh just managing the puck better through the neutral zone. um being able to get that behind the defenseman if there’s not a play to be made. You know, Rod wants you to make a play if there’s one to be spotted here. Washington coming across centered out in front. Anderson gets a piece on Leonard and the Canes will transition the other way. Eers drops it for Blake. Blake going to take advantage of the miscue shot right now. Rebounds available. They score. Nikolai Eers stays with the play and bangs it home. The Canes are on the board. They’ve cut to the Caps lead. It’s a 2-1 game. For the Caps. Go the other way. Cut to the middle and shot from Blake. And drifting towards the goal line. Eers found some real nice chipping elevation to make this a one-goal game. Oh, I mean, look at that deter. Look at the focus from Blake driving to the middle with no fear. Then driving the front of the net to keep it alive. Trailing two to one. K three for three tonight. Cannot clear though after the draw. Slapped into the slot. Mr. Anderson with the save and the loose puck will be shued all the way down into the Washington zone because I’ll tell you this was liftoff. Watch the way he moves into the shot. Wilson who has enjoyed a super start to his year set play. And that when we watch Freddy, he keeps himself big, doesn’t he? the majority of the time if he moves sideways not forward there in his route it’s the back the slot second opportunity they score Jacob Chein gets to the front of the net and a power play goal for Washington gets a 3-1 lead for the Caps and then he goes to the front of the net. Leonard wastes no time with the initial shot and Chickan reinstates their two goal leads off the target. [Applause] Great play now. Here’s Fion second chance. Check right on and Thompson with the save. 40 seconds left here. Blake to Aaho. Ao shot that’s deflected wide. Hall with the rebound up on 30 seconds left. Empty net and Alexander Ovichkin. has goal 901 in his career, his 53rd against the Canes. And that will make it a 4-1 game for the Caps. He’s got two points in the game. I mean, really, he never even looked at the net. He just fired away. That was just muscle memory. And for the first time this year, the Kings will suffer a loss against the Metro Division. Now 41 and0 against the Metro and they fall to 52 and0 at home. 11 and five on the
