Seems to just be a contusion. Possibly the best news to come out of this.

  1. its good news but he also doesn’t even have a timetable for return. i’m just going to throw out 4-6 weeks? what do you guys think?

  2. I’m not going to pretend to be knowledgeable on sports medicine, but it at least seems like a good sign it’s not the same turf toe injury he had surgery for?

  3. Honestly, sit him for as long as it takes until the postseason comes. This team can stay in the top 5 seeds on talent alone.

This worries me though if it’s that easy to get a small contusion. Hopefully it can be fully recovered and not linger forever.

  4. Positive news. Thank you basketball gods. I just hope this isn’t a lingering thing for the long term. Like every season we have to worry about the toe 😭

  5. Could have been a lot worse. This basically means he bruised it and will be day to day moving forward. I would guess he misses a couple weeks

  6. Absolutely no medical background but at this point I’m convinced it’s the shoes. He needs to start playing in something with a wider toe box

  7. look i’ll take the downvotes…but it’s time to look at trade packages for the guy. i’m sorry, but i can’t handle another year of DG being hurt in the playoffs and it tanking our chances. We should have moved him to the spurs before they traded for Fox, we could’ve gotten a good haul for him.

Love DG and how he helped rebuild this team with everything he’s done here, but the best ability is availability and with Tyson really elevating his offensive game, Proctor in the wings, and of course don and evan (and still waiting for struss to come back) I think we have the offensive fire power to cover for him being gone. not to mention whoever we’d get in return for DG

  8. Sit him for a month at this point. Let it heal fully. Don’t force him back in if the toe isn’t 100%

  9. Can’t I say I get all the extreme optimism in here. Sure it’s not a report of needing season injury surgery or something like that, but I still think these developments are way more serious than people are making them out to be. The repeat injuries are just very concerning to me. It’s approaching “permanent issue” territory.

  10. Sit this man until he’s beyond ready.. the last thing I want to see is him hobbling around in January and February

  11. Not a Dr. here with my observation…Bro bruised his surgically repaired Toe. He ain’t coming back for a bit out of precaution.

  12. I suppose that’s good news as far as it goes, but I can’t imagine it’s good for the recovery from the initial injury/surgery to the toe. I hope it’s as mild as it sounds.
