Today is November 12th! The Cy Youngs will be awarded tonight. Shohei Ohtani and the American League MVP award winner will be announced on Thursday. November 13th.
Aaron Heilman turns 47 today. A first round (18th overall) draft pick by the Mets in 2001, he debuted with the Mets in 2003. Heilman was a solid pitcher for the Mets from 2003 to 2008. But Mets fans will never forget what happened in 2006. For all you kids out there, in game seven of the 2006 NLCS the game was tied 1-1 when Heilman gave up a two run homer in the ninth inning to Yadier Molina and the Cardinals won the game and the series. The Mets traded him to Seattle in December 2008 and last pitched in MLB in 2011 with the Diamondbacks.
The Mets are hosting their annual MetsGiving Food Drive to benefit City Harvest on Thursday, November 13 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Mets Team Store. City Harvest is New York City’s first and largest food rescue organization. This year, City Harvest will rescue more than 86 million pounds of nutritious, high-quality food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it for free to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens and community partners across the five boroughs. Fans donating at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2026. Fans will be limited to one ticket voucher. Fans who donate will also receive an exclusive 20% discount at the team store.

Nah, mod it ain’t over till it’s over. We still got a chance to win this for juan. JUAN JUAN JUAN JUAN!
Imagine saying it’s shohei already.
I like what I’m seeing from Imai, I hope we go for him and Okamoto
If anyone is on the fence, I think Pokemon Legends ZA is a really fun game. Already up to almost 50 hours in it.
Heilman was the original Pelfrey – who were the original David Peterson.
I understand the idea of moving on from your favorite teams position-player pillars might sound like a nightmare , intimidating and maybe doesn’t even make sense on paper.
But what they’ve accomplished together doesn’t deserve the ratio/comments that Stearns gets when he says “we are open to it, but I need to have paths for younger talent”.
Top 5 payroll and you’ve given them the best 5 years of the best shortstop in the 21st century— forget about playoffs but just having a winning season has been a coin flip.
And now you want them around when they’re older, more expensive for the next 4 years of the Modern Day Ted Williams prime.
For someone who talked about run prevention he better re sign Diaz
Not Mets. But Clasè has to be the dumbest guy in MLB history.
Anyone who needs something to watch in the background at work to fill the baseball void should check out Adam Ottavino’s YouTube channel, lots of good analysis
Stearns is very bullish on Benge based on the little context clues on how he talked about him minus the obvious. Pretty much said untouchable prospect without saying it based on his body language. I’m not very good at many things in life but reading that sort of stuff I am so comes in handy for these pressers
Rumor is we will be aggressive for Imai and his comments saying He wants to strike out Shohei recently are promising unless he meant like a scrim/BP LOL but we’ll see. I think his personality would be perfect for Queens similarly to Senga but in a different way. More outgoing passion
Like I said before I’m not getting my hopes as high as I did for Yamamoto because you never know if they change their minds or have a certain team they are deadset on from the beginning
I like Okamoto’s defensive versatility and bat. Will the bat translate perfectly to MLB? They usually don’t especailly right away but I think his swing is more likely to be successful vs Murakami and you don’t need to give him a Murakami contract hopefully
And he is more proven against velocity already with good plate discipline. Obviously I still want to bring Pete back first and have Okamoto be the 2nd bat. I would not consider Okamoto a replacement
I wouldn’t be shocked if we end up with neither of them but it’s fun to think about LOL and hey if it happens, I can be surprised happy
If you want to throw money at an aging slugger I’d throw it at Schwarber who projects to be better than Pete over the next three seasons and who you can get on a shorter deal for less money. Pete will be good over that timeframe too, imo, but I’d rather have Schwarber for 4 years than Pete for 6.
I sort of wish Tong wasn’t rushed to the majors because now fans keep putting him in dumb hypothetical trade packages including for players who aren’t even going to be available
This offseason is going to be really controversial regardless of outcome. We went backwards after an NLCS appearance, so moves HAVE to be made. The only competition is the dodgers, so it’s going to be really hilarious in here to see every reaction to each signing/move.
Mets are rumored to be interested in Bellinger. I think he would be a great add
