Warsofsky on Last-Minute Askarov Start, Lessons for Celebrini & Smith | Sharks @ Wild (11.11.25)
Well, maybe not the best 40, but the final 20 you guys managed to keep composure. Yeah, again, it was better in the probably our third, but first two uh arguably far our worst two periods of the year. So, um but we found a way and that’s the most important thing. Uh it’s a hard league to win in. So, uh we can’t dwell on it. There’s things we got we got to get better at. Just didn’t we didn’t have our legs at all. Yeah, I was going to say kind of withstanding that wild offensive pressure. It seemed very uncharacteristic, especially in that second period. Yeah, Asky was outstanding. uh our penalty kill, you know, even gave up one. It was really good, but Asky was the reason why we had a chance. Nadelovich was supposed to start uh what happened with him and just how much confidence is it giving you guys the team just how well Ascar played tonight and also Alex too when he’s Yeah. Um Ned has a personal issue that he’s going to got to attend to. So, he’s going to go home. Um you know, we don’t think it’s too long. Uh so, kind of came up before the game. and that’s why we went with Asky and hell of a job by him tonight. We got two goalies that are are playing really good. So, um proud of Asky the way he performed today. Will you recall a goalie for tomorrow? I don’t know. I’ll talk to Mike. We’ll see. We were told that there’s a musical song that’s played uh that kind of helped get you guys going. Do you happen to know the name of it? Because none of the guys seem to No, I don’t know the name of it, but it’s happened a couple times this year. We’ve had some slow starts and uh I think Barkley Goodro is the one that puts the music on to get the guys going. So, hey, whatever it takes. Um I’ve always said that I don’t really care uh what gets you ready to play a hockey game as long as you get ready and you give us everything you got. So um again really good effort in the third period. You talk about how the hard the Wild defended Mlin and it’s not they’re not going to do it but they seem to be trying to prevent him from building on speed and defensive zone. Also too just physicality that extra check that it’s Eric is is is one of the most underrated centers in this game. the way he checks, he he’s one of the best, man. He’s he is really hard to def play against. They’re you know, Hindy does a good job with their structure, but um you know, their guys, they they check this is a tough match up for us and um they did a good job on Mack and and we try to get away from it there a little bit, but um you know, they do a good job of of of taking away time and space and and that’s something we couldn’t really generate till really the third period. What’s it say about Mack and Will though that can’t generate much the first couple periods but then they get a moment two assists from two people assist from Mac when they obviously will with the goal. Yeah, I think they’ll grow from this you know and of course you get the the result but they’ll grow when when you don’t have your A game in the National Hockey League which is going to happen. It’s 82 games travel and everything that goes into it. You got to be able to uh impact the game with your B game and and mentally check in and say okay I don’t have it tonight. I need I need to simplify my hockey game. So, I thought they did a better job of that in the third period. Um, and then obviously they find themselves on the score sheet, which always is nice. Were they having some frustration the first couple periods you saw? No, I don’t think it was I mean, yeah, I mean I mean it’s an emotional sport. I’m sure they were disappointed and couldn’t get anything going, but again, it’s going to happen and so we got to work through that. Has it feel good to put a nice little streak together here now, though? Yeah, it’s it’s it’s been uh something we talked about, you know, after the second period. probably in years past we punted this game and just moved on and took the loss whether it’s two nothing or whatever it was that’s over. We’re done punting games. We’re done um you know saying we’re competitive. We’re trying to win hockey games. Um and that’s the biggest thing that’s been the message here since day one and we’re going to keep pushing that that envelope here. Kind of a message to the league then too just to remind people that you guys are here and it’s the real deal is Yeah. I mean, and again, this is it’s been a a long time of of this rebuild, you’d say, and we’re getting slowly getting out of it here a little bit, but we’ll take it each day at a time. You know, we can’t worry about um you know, tomorrow. We’ll focus on our our day tomorrow and we’ll get ready for Thursday. What do you think Graph added to the top line? Yeah, it just gave us a little bit pace, you know, and some he had his legs tonight, so we thought we made that little switch. And also, too, you made a switch of the defense, flip-flopping Clingberg and um and uh Muk. Yeah, just get muck off his right side there. He was getting in some tough spots. So, we’ll look at it. Again, hasn’t played a lot of hockey, so got to continue to work with these uh young defenseman. And how good was tonight? Ekki was really good. He kind of We tal about Mack being on a mission. This kid’s on a mission as well. So, um third period, dominated, made plays. Uh he just doesn’t have an uh you know, a give in his body. He just wants to work and compete and he wants to help this organization win hockey games. Um, and you can just see it. It’s all over him. Even, you know, he’s grown a lot. He’s grown a lot as far as being in that guy that has his B game and still impacts it. And, you know, that’s something that Mack and Will will learn as well. But, I think Ekki has been on a mission since training camp. You know, this game looks just efficient and confident tonight. Who’s that? Ekan. Yeah, he was he was bringing pucks to the net. He’s putting his nose over pucks. He’s doing things that we’ve we’ve talked about here the last couple years. He’s done a great job. And any last one for me, it’s been a while for the Sharks to have this kind of winning streak. Just how’s it feel? Yeah, it’s good. You know, we want to keep her going. You know, I think that’s the biggest thing is we we’re playing some pretty good hockey. Even we don’t have our best, we’re finding ways to win. Our goalending has been great. Um we still got ways to get better. We still got to get better individually and collectively, and that will be the message. But, um, you know, we got good confidence, and we know we can win in different ways, and I think that’s important this league. All right, guys. Thank you. Thank you.

So Goodrow does do something for this team! I knew it!
John Klingberg continues to be one of the biggest liabilities on the ice. When will Warso give same level of criticism he gives younger D?
Sam winning the puck in OT won us the game
Congrats coach W 👍
Swear some fans just want to be miserable teams on a 4 game win streak a 7 game point streak yet still seeing the first thing out of some fans mouths is bitching about Warso because of one player they perceive as being garbage is getting minutes over some young guy. Like WTF the team is winning for the first time in like 6 years fucking enjoy it. Instead of acting like you know better than the coach leading this team to a winning record when they were supposed to be a bottom 3 team in the league. Pretty sure no fucking coach would mess with a lineup that is winning just because some armchair moron of a coach wants to see Cags in the lineup instead of Klingberg even though analytics well show over like the last 4 he's been one of the best sharks defensemnen
Wasn’t the 1st power play team doing better when Orlov replaced Klingberg?

Tofolli needs to be off the 1st line permanently
Graf needs to be on the 1st line
I wanna know what the song is.
