Maybe we should have hired a coach who emphasizes offense. Fire whoever runs the power play and move marchment and Stephenson, they’ve been god awful
It’s deserved. This team would be less boring if they were just boring and bad. Instead, they’re boring and completely mid.
I’ve been thinking since that game last night about reasons to renew my season tickets at the end of the year and frankly I cannot think of any good reasons.
I could not give my tickets away yesterday. For real. I’m not even disappointed in the team, I’m utterly disinterested.

They’re a lot of fun to watch. Their games certainly aren’t boring and the kraken broadcast is awesome.

Nyman as “one of our best scorers”: .25 pts/g

This is the angriest I’ve seen this fanbase and the team is off the best start in their history lol
Well-deserved criticism in my opinion. Last night’s game was a travesty on the offensive side.
I get that their offense may not be getting a ton of goals per game, however they are winning and taking games into OT. Would more goals be nice? Sure! But the team is doing great so far this season.
Offense is definitely where the struggle is, but I think under the circumstances the guys who are struggling could do a lot worse. They’re at least trying.
It’s deserved. This team is frustrating offensively. Seems like they’re always looking for the absolute perfect shot and will pass it around until they can find it. Then when they do shoot, it seems to be directly at the goalie.
Just for fun I decided to look at the GF/G for the previous seasons and where the team finished.
2024 16th 2.99
2023 29th 2.61
2022 5th 3.52
2021 29th 2.60
2022 was the outlier as they had an unsustainable shooting percentage that year. Even compared to last season being down basically a half goal per game is going to cost you over time. Having to rely on Joey/Matt/Gru to show up night in night out and pitch near shutouts is a lot to ask and I think this is a valid criticism.

Seems like we’ve always needed to get a good goal scorer. I’ve had this running joke that if they got 3 points and it’s not OT, we lost. Granted we have my favorite goalie in the league (Joey) and a great defense but we need a some finishers. The games are still a lot of fun to watch and a lot of our players are young. We’ll get there

If we need to play Moneyball to get to playoffs, let em cook. It’s not like boys aren’t trying new things and peppering in some fancy plays.
I’ll take a slow burn to the finish line over a showy burnout that crashes out.
Mush could use a condition skate though. Slowest shootout approach of anyone in a good while bud.
I know we’ve been struggling with offense for a few seasons, but seeing Dunn – a defenseman – show up as the first name under “struggle offensively” is kinda funny to me. I’d think they’d call out all the forwards first. That’s their primary job.
Never pay attention to these engagement farming “fan” accounts. They just rage bait or weave in inaccurate stats to encourage people to comment and correct them, thus earning money.
Our offense does need some improvement but I think that will come if/when we get healthy and get our lines sorted. People seem to forget that we’ve got a lot of new staff, a few new players and young guys still learning how to play in the league. If we’re still 30th come the new year then sound the alarms. Until them, I’m happy as hell to be competitive in (almost) every game and firmly in the playoff picture.
On the ice, this team is a hot mess and you can thank the ownership and Ron Francis for that. If they were exciting to watch, at least we’d be entertained. They have taken over from the NY Islanders the title of “The most boring team to watch in the NHL”.
I was at the Stars game on Sunday and when compared to the Stars, it just feels like our guys have no synergy. I don’t understand why our grand strategy for getting the puck near the goal is to shoot it up the sides and hope a teammate can pick it up once it goes around. I don’t understand why 60% of our passes are to the skates of the other player instead of in front. The Stars game was wild, their players were hitting reverse passes without looking into players in FULL coverage and making plays! Meanwhile I saw Kraken players fumble easy passes and fall over due to their own enthusiasm a number of times.
Honestly, we have nobody on this team that can score a goal. When Jaden Schwartz is one of your top scorers you know there’s an issue. Not to throw shade at Jaden but I think you understand my point
