A lot to digest here, I really felt like Terry shit the bed last night. We are needing him to be a big piece if we’re going to be successful it can’t only be the second line and Leo.
Lines up with what I was seeing, that 4th line for the first time all season really got exposed

Unlike some others I think he’s generally been good this year in most areas, but last night was rough.
Hope he’s able to get a goal soon because that confidence will help
I mean the Ducks got out played by the best team in the league who have a similar style of play to them, and has two top 5 players in the league, so the result isnt crazy. I think if a few bounces had gone differently we have a different game, but thats where being a Stanley cup contender vs playoff contender comes into play. Its likely a bad matchup compared to the Jets who are a slower team than the Ducks.
Its a reality check, not a bad thing
Lacombe has been playing almost as well as Trouba at everything but scoring. But he’s been kinda bad lately. I think he’s been trying to be fundamentally sound instead of generating offense because the forwards have flipped a switch this season but maybe he’s losing some confidence because he’s really in a scoring slump right now. Maybe give him Gudas back when he returns so he can cheat up some more and break out.
Do these things not account for boneheaded penalties? Because Moore had a couple that really hurt us. Like do you get a lower score for being on the ice killing the penalty than you do for being in the box? Not saying Jackson had a great game last night, but I thought Moore probably cost us the most in terms of momentum, and he’s not getting the same tough minutes as Comber.
Lacombe was noticeably bad this game. Not really sure what happened, hopefully he bounces back and gets over his slow start to the season.
Zelly continues to be one of the better players on this team but in a sort of quiet way. Hoping it leads to a break out offensively at some point because he’s building a great base. Also does he have some mouth on him? He’s always getting into little scrums.
I’m so here for the rising of Trouba!
I thought they didn’t look terrible after the slow start all things considered, playing at a higher altitude is an adjustment.
They also had to deal with poor officiating, Ducks get a penalty for slashing the stick out of Kelly’s hands but when the Avs did the same thing, suddenly it’s not a penalty. There was also an egregious missed call behind the Avs net shortly before the empty net goal, and don’t even get me started on that high stick call that got overturned, it should have been a double minor.
4th line definitely got exposed tho, Johnston especially just doesn’t have the foot speed to play against a team like the Avs.
