  1. Line blending is ok with how they’ve looked but splitting Jack and Bratt is malpractice from the perspective of our entertainment.

  2. personally been begging for Timo and Bratter with Nico and Dawson and Gritsy with Jack, so I’m fucking ecstatic lads.

  3. Nico and Mercers play has gone off a cliff after strong starts. Both have still been good on D and in the neutral zone but id say a shake up is needed. Splitting up Jack and Bratt is interesting but i see the logic in using Bratt to get Nico going. Bottom 6 looks fine to me, Noesen is still clearly working his way back to 100% and it showed when he was on the top line.

  4. * I can’t fully endorse splitting up PB&J until seeing how it works but a shakeup isn’t unwarranted
    * FIRST LINE GRITS
    * THIRD LINE PALAT
    * I know the analytics have been against Glendening, but I love his hustle and tenacity
    * NewMac is on a mission
    * Cotter just don’t do anything stupid

    I’m onboard

  5. I know Jack’s line has really been struggling lately. I was expecting changes to it. I was not expecting Mercer and Bratt to swap. The Meier-Hischier-Mercer line has been our best shutdown line all year. Bratt and Hughes have always been great together, even if the last few games have been off. That swap makes no sense to me. Happy to see Gristyuk get a full game chance with Jack but that’s about it

  6. If you’ve watched this team for more than a couple seasons you know that Jack and Bratt always have to get separated for like a few weeks before putting them back together.

    They always end up getting a little too comfortable with each other and pass up opportunities and default to setting the other up. But then a few weeks later they get outback together and they take off and never look back.

    This was a Lindy thing, a Greene thing, and even a Keefe thing last year.

  7. I really like the idea of Mercer with Jack. I might’ve liked to see Timo there to give that line more size, but Grits there could also be really fun to watch.

  8. I think these should be the top 6 lines going forward, even at full health. Nico is my favourite devil, but he’s having a brutal stretch here for offence and I think having bratt on that line can help out a lot. Bratt and Jack work so well together because they’re so similar, but it’s hard to tell how much value is added with them being together or if they would just do what they do anyway even separated.

    Hope this sparks a burst of offence tonight. I get a little jealous seeing other teams putting up 5+ once a week, while the devils squeak out 1 goal wins.

  9. I think Timo and Nico could use a natural playmaker by their side like Bratt. And Gritzy with Jack and Dawson sounds hella lit.

    I’m cool with all of this

  10. I like this mix. When Brown comes back I feel Keefe is going to slide Brown with Bratt and Jack. I’m not opposed to it, but in the meantime I hope Grits shows he can be a good wing for Jack.

  11. As it was foretold this morning by Gritsyuk’s morning walk Telegram post 🙏. Everyone get your coffee in to stay up for Bedard v Hughes tonight.

  12. I like the idea of splitting Jack and Bratt. Let them carry their own lines, see how it works. If it’s not working after a period, you put them back the way they were, simple.

  13. They need to change up PP1. You can’t have 5 left handed shots with the way they cycle. There is no one timer opportunity. I know Dougie is out right now, but they need to get Nemec or another righty on the point or at least on the wing. The way they play their PP, they never have anybody in position for a one timer or a quick shot. It forces them into the weird bumper to opposite wing cross slot pass situations that never work.
