Shams Charania:

Just in: Los Angeles Clippers guard Bradley Beal has a fracture in his hip and will undergo season-ending surgery, sources tell ESPN.

Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN: "We met with numerous doctors and specialists around the country in collaboration with the entire Clippers medical staff over the last few days, and came to the decision unanimously that the surgery will allow Brad to have a full and complete recovery."

  1. I mean, it was incredibly predictable him getting injured but definitely not like this, that’s just incredibly bad luck

  2. It’s really sad how his career is ending. Makes me wish he never sacrificed his body for the Wizards even though it’s clear he wasn’t one to quit on the team. Damn

  3. Gotta feel for Beal. He’s very fortunate he got that player option for $5.4M next season, but he will undoubtedly be used as trade filler by the deadline.

As far as on the court stuff go, he did nothing but hurt the Clippers. More minutes for guys like Cam Christie who have been playing well.

  4. Lol. They traded Powell so they could have Beal replace him and get Collins ontop and we are like 5 games into Beals Clipper tenure and hes already done..

  5. Bradley Beal gotta have one of the craziest careers. Made a ton of money but played very little meaningful basketball.

  6. Suns buyout looking like a masterful move. They’re only paying $22m for Brad not to play for them this year instead of $55m. He also helped us secure one more win this year already than he did last year.

  7. One of the worst, if not the worst bone, you can break both in terms of pain, danger and recovery.

  8. Oldest NBA team of all time losing a guy to a busted hip three weeks into the season is the type of comedy you can’t script.

  9. My dad has the same injury. It could happen to anyone older than 60 or playing on the LA Canes.

  10. He broke his hip.. the most retirement home injury possible.
Next: James Harden misses games because he can’t find his glasses. Chris Paul wanders off into wilderness and townfolk have to form a search party to find him.

  11. Not surprising at all with this Clippers roster. Half of them have one foot in the retirement home already.

  12. This team sounded great on paper, that is if the paper somehow didn’t include everyone’s birthday

  13. Bradley Beal’s salary this yr: $53,666,270

Most people in the USA won’t save up $1M for their retirement, in their entire life.

This guy, whose contribution has less than halved after signing his big contract is getting paid 53M this year, and he won’t be playing in the majority of the games. In the games he’s played in so far, he’s been less than mediocre.

This wold is an insane place.

  14. Bradley Beal is ranked fourth on the all-time NBA earnings list, having earned approximately $416,687,843 up to the 2024-25 season. He is surpassed only by Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Stephen Curry.

The super max is a fucking mistake.
