Are the Flames really this bad??

They’re not all bad players and there are good players and there are a lot of NHL players, but if you just look at the standings, it’s pretty obvious that through 17 games, 18, like this is a bad team. And could they have gotten more bounces? Yes. But have they been on the losing end of five or six that they deserve to win? To your point, absolutely not. And so if you’re of the mind that there aren’t bad teams in the NHL and these are the best players in the world, and you can have that view, then no, this isn’t. But if you’re of the view that there’s 32 teams, there’s a top third, a middle third, a bottom third, this is a bad team. It’s the worst in the NHL, and that doesn’t mean they’re all bad players, and it doesn’t mean they’re not trying. And it doesn’t mean we need to fire someone to make a scapegoat of the situation. But when you look at this lineup and you compare it to, hey, the second worst team in the league, like the St. Louis Blues were coming into action today. They’re at a deficit. And so, call me a tough grader, or maybe that’s incredibly logical. At this juncture, you can’t call them anything but a bad team. They’re 32nd in a 32 team league. I bring up the the the game they the the loss against Minnesota is a good example where they didn’t make a lot of mistakes but the mistakes they made left Matt Baldy completely alone with a puck in the in front of the net and these are the kind of things that happen with them and so they have maybe three or four of those mistakes they cannot overcome these mistakes and as a result if you’re a goalender you’re thinking I got to stop everything if you’re a defenseman you’re thinking I can’t cough up anything and if you’re a forward you’re thinking okay we’re going to score maybe two or three in this one I got to commit to these chances and as a result everyone seems to overcommit to everything.

  1. All the teams that rebuilt in the last 3 5 years are ether first or not to far behind now it’s our turn I wish this clunky organization would understand that
