BREAKING NEWS: Texans Injury Updates On C.J. Stroud, Jalen Pitre, Tytus Howard & Cade Stover

[Music] We have some breaking news around your Houston Texans and around your quarterback CJ Stroud. Hello everybody, I am Jeremy Chugs and this is Texans today, your one-stop shop for Texans news and rumors. The breaking news on today’s show, CJ Strad likely to miss week 11 up against the Tennessee Titans. We all knew it was a possibility, but according to Aaron Wilson, CJ Stroud still dealing with concussion-like symptoms. He’s still sensitive to light, sensitive to sound, and he has to go through all the NFL concussion protocols before he can even get back on the practice field. And obviously, he hasn’t met those protocols yet because he is missing practice today as I’m filming this on Wednesday leading up to that game up against Tennessee. Obviously, he suffered that concussion against the Denver Broncos. He got knocked out, was out the rest of that week, did not play this past week. Obviously, Davis Mills, a miraculous win up against the Jacksonville Jags. But even if he was good to go, it looks like maybe they were going to play it a little bit on the safe side, but I’m not sure that he’s going to be even able to pass that NFL concussion protocol before this week 11 matchup against Tennessee. And in his stance, it will be once again the neck, the savior, Davis Mills. So, as we begin to discuss this week, all the injuries that we got going, I need to know from you folks at home, what is your confidence level in Davis Mills beating the Titans this week? Scale it 1 to 10. One, you have no confidence. 10, you have all the confidence in the world. Let me know down in the comments section because I would almost bet that it’s a little bit higher than it was last week. Am I right? Am I right? because I mean obviously Davis Mills, he saved our ass this past week up against Jacksonville. And I’m probably going to go with an eight up against the Tennessee Titans. They are the worst team in the National Football League. They are not a a good franchise, but at the same time, they’re a division rival. So, whenever you play those division games, you play these teams twice a year and it always is, it just means a little bit more, especially from the team that left Houston to go to Tennessee, the former Houston Oilers franchise, means a little bit more when the Texans and Titans suit up twice a year each season. So, even though I am confident in Davis Mills, I can’t go higher than an eight because it’s still the Tennessee Titans. even I it doesn’t matter how bad they are. This is one of those games the cliche you throw out the record books because both these teams no matter the record want to beat the other team badly each and every season. Now other guys that aren’t practicing on today as I’m filming this on Wednesday. CJ Shroud out with that concussion protocol. Another big name out with the concussion protocol is Jaylen Petri, defensive back where the Texans, they like to employ a 425 scheme. That’s what they’ve done for most of the season and have Jaylen Petri as that pseudo, you know, Nickelback linebacker hybrid. With him out, they ran a lot more 43 concepts last week. That’s four down lineman, three linebackers. They had Aziz Alshshire, Henry Toto, and EJ Speed in at linebacker for most of that game. You know, obviously whenever they went to dime or nickel packages, they sub those guys out for more quarterbacks. But though that is going to be another big name to watch this week is Jaylen Petri. And then Kaim Fairbar is out as well not practicing. He has a leg injury. Maybe the worst injury you could have as a kicker. I mean that’s it’s like a chef who has a hand injury. It’s it’s just not just not working out for you. But Ka Fairbar out this week maybe as well. But you know not looking good. The fact that he’s not practicing on Wednesday. Now no matter what happens with this squad whenever news breaks you know where to go. It’s right here. Texans today. When news happens, we break it down for your Houston Texans. Oh yeah, we’re 100% free. I’m never going to put you behind a payw wall. I’m never going to ask you to insert your credit card information here. No scams here at Texans today. 100% free content around your Houston Texans. Now, the Texans did make some roster moves going into this week. They officially signed Miles Bryant to the active roster. He came in for MJ Stewart this past week and played pretty nicely. He was at practice today. other guys who were getting safety reps alongside Miles Bryant. It was Kaylin Bulock on one side and then they were ro rotating in Miles Bryant, the rookie Jaylen Reed from Penn State and Jaylen Mills who’s on the practice squad. And I would be um I wouldn’t be shocked at all if they went ahead and elevated Jaylen Mills from the practice squad right before this game up against Tennessee. Another guy who was practicing today, Matthew Wright, who is the Texans kicker with Ky Fairbear still out with that leg injury. And you know, he played well up against the Jags. 100% field goal percentage along a 46. Uh not not more you could really ask from a kicker rather than just hitting everything that comes your way. So, good news on that end. And coming up, some more positive injury news for your Houston Texans. It’s not all bad, folks. It’s not all bad. I’ll tell you the good news around your Houston Texans on the injury front in just a moment. But couldn’t do today’s show if it wasn’t for our amazing sponsors over at Prize Picks. I’m using one of the new features on prize picks. It’s the stacks feature, which means that you can have the same player. I have Cameron Ward. Cam Ward, the number one overall pick from this past year’s draft. I have two projections for him. I’m going the less on his passing yards. I’m going the more on his rush yards. Only four and a half rush yards. I I I kind of like the chances of that. The Texans are going to send the heat. They’re going to get a lot of pressure after Cam Ward. So, I think he’s going to at least have to a couple times step up in the pocket and maybe get a couple yards here and there. And then I’m going Jaden Higgins more on the touchdown there. And then Woody marks more on his rush yards. You can use my lineup or you can make your own. Just do it over with our friends at Prize Picks. And some of the good news, we told y’all about this earlier in the week. He was expected to try and return this week. And it looks like the first step of that is here cuz Kade Stover was back at practice. My guy Aaron Wilson had it on Twitter, him running onto the practice field, which when you had a fractured foot, the fact that you’re running onto the practice field, that seems like it’s a pretty good sign that he’ll be good to go this weekend. The Texans, they really need more help at that tight end spot. Daltton Schultz has been holding it down. Harrison Bryan is okay as the backup, but you instantly get an upgrade with the secondyear player out of Ohio State and Kate Stove returning to this Texans uh roster. And you know, great news for this Texans team, especially on offense with Davis Mills. He liked going to Dalton Schultz. Maybe we’ll see if he likes going to Kate Stove as well as it looks like he will be on the track to return this weekend. Some more good news. Titus Howard was back at practice. The Texans right tackle maybe one of the guard spots coming up. Maybe. We don’t know. We don’t know. He was back at practice this week. That’s more good news. He uh cleared that concussion protocol. So, it looks like he will be on track to start for your Houston Texans this week up against the Tennessee Titans. And some more good news for your Texans squad. I reported that after the Texans versus Jags game, Trent Brown, he was limping. According to multiple reports, Aaron Wilson being one. He was limping noticeably after that Jags game. Well, the X-rays came back negative and he was actually out at practice today for your Houston Texans. Some good news and I’m really interested now to see what ends up happening. Cole Papovic, Nick Kayley, Demo Ryan, what are y’all going to do with this Texans offensive line? Cuz that is the one thing I think Texans fans should be keeping an eye out for this whole week. Who will be that starting O line up against the Tennessee Titans? because Demo Nay, they threw a curveball at us this past week up against the Jags with City S starting this game. Now, he only played the first two drives. It was an absolute disaster. They ended up putting Jarrett Patterson in that left guard. Juice Grugs played that right guard position for the rest of the game. But something to keep an eye out for cuz another guy I actually forget forgot to mention him along the way. Ed Ingram was back at practice. He’s dealing with a knee injury. So, we’ll have to see whether he’s limited or a full participant today and how he kind of progresses through the week with that knee injury. But with all those injuries piled up with everything that’s going around, all the kind of O line shuffle that’s happening, who will be the starting five in front of probably Davis Mills up against the Tennessee Titans. Now, that’s all I have for you on today’s show, folks. I am going live today at 3:30 p.m. Central time. So, if you plan on tuning in, if you’re going to be there, go down there and spam those H’s down in the comment section, and let me know that you’re going to be tuning in for our live show. We’ll be breaking down more injury news, the keys to victory, or what you should maybe be looking for in that Tennessee Titans game. And also, I’m going be telling you some guys that I think deserve a lot more playing time for your Houston Texans. [Music]

  1. Texans radio talk show on 97.5 will predict the Titans to win. Just like they predicted the Jags to win. They didn't want to give em credit for beating the Jags. Gave more credit to the Jags for blowing the lead.
