I've always been proud that the Steelers have had such a stable organization and do well in finding talent. But a decade of running the wheels in the mud, even though we don't sink, I think is grinding on everyone's nerves. Then, I saw this stat sheet, and I was so sad. It seems like every week we enable some other team to become leading scorers or record breakers in their field; even after that team's own weeks of nothing. I think many of us believe that it's time for a new philosophy to bring the Steelers into a new era. I think this has to come dahn from Rooney.

    You can ‘probably’ find three positive stats in any game that are like first team to do xyz its just selective and weird.

    One thing counts Ls and Dubs.

    I watched Cade Cunningham have a historic missed FG game against the wizards. Worst since 2003. But I watched the motherfucker play and I can tell you he is the truth.
    Stats are shit. Analytics are shit.
    Ballers are ballers.

    No, this team is not as bad as those number indicate.

    Yes, they still need to change their formula for winning games consistently.

    My theory is we do not adapt to our opponents as much as we should. We do what we do, and we aim to do it the best. But other teams are coached and constructed in such a way that they can be more flexible. For us to win, everything seemingly has to tip our way.

  28. All this for my first Steelers game I attended! What a shame and embarrassment to be dressed head to toe in my black and gold. I thought as division leaders we would show up and be competitive; boy was I wrong.

  33. For the past few years these teams have done something historically bad fairly consistently or overall for the season. When the 2060 season comes around or whenever the next collapse is there will be tons of “This hasn’t been since the Steelers did it in 2020-2025”. That’s how bad this stretch has been.

  35. Can’t you see it’s the Steelers standard? Doesn’t matter which team does it – as long as the Steelers are involved. It’s standard. And the standard is, for lack of a better term, the standard, and things of that nature.

  36. Lots of outlier events happening this year to the Steelers. Recovering 5 fumbles against the Patriots, 6 TO’s vs. the Colts, now this. Weird year.

  37. Cherry picking stats to fit a narrative. Much like a parley in betting, if you keep adding legs to the details then it narrows the likelihood of it having been done before.

  38. Honestly if Rodgers doesn’t throw those 3-4 balls over receivers heads (metcalf missed TD, INT, wide open Jonnu deep downfield all immediately come to mind) this game starts looking a lot different.

    With that said, we probably shouldn’t need 6OL plus Darnell to run the ball properly, and we’re painfully thin at receiver, which shows on third and long.

    I have the understanding that they are good people and that’s cool but it’s pretty clear they don’t care and probably actually love the 9-8. Sell tickets without having to win the superbowl.

  42. No way. We double down on this shit. We breaking records that are 50 yrs old. Ain’t no one else in the league doing what we do (sit down Jets, no one asked).

    It will work next week, or maybe the week after. If not, then definitely the week after that or the one that follows that week. For sure this season it will work, or maybe next.

    I remain reasonably confident, and somewhat hopeful.
