My fellow Jazz fans, begin preparing yourselves now to be absolutely disgusted with this sport watching these guys land another #1.

With the departure of Nico Harrison and the imminent arrival of a new GM who will almost certainly be looking to move Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and possibly Kyrie to begin a rebuild, I can't express how much I hate these clowns for bumbling their way into an instant rebuild.

Meanwhile years into ours and we don't yet have a single player who looks like "that guy". There's even a very real possibility with how bad some of these teams are and how shameless their ownership is, we lose our pick to OKC simply because it's impossible for us to be as bad as the competition.

Call it dumb luck, divine intervention, karma, fraud, whatever you like, but Dallas now becomes the second Texas-based team to enjoy an insta-rebuild after the Spurs.

  1. Lowkey if a team jumps to the first overall pick, their pick shouldn’t be able to jump into the top 4 for the next five years. So the Spurs couldn’t get Castle, and Harper these last 2 drafts after getting Wemby, and the Mavericks can’t get into the top 4 until 2030. Preventing them from getting a top 4 pick in 2026. Even if they’d have the worst overall record, they’d default to the 5th pick pre draft lottery. I guess this also can devalue picks that other teams own from the Mavs like the 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 pick that the Mavs don’t own control or first dibs with, that since those are Mavs picks, those picks can’t jump up

    I guess that idea would hurt the Hawks since they jumped to the first pick in a weak draft, while since 2018 the first overall pick has been at worst a starter on a finals team (Ayton). Zion (the idea, but he made all star teams), Lamelo, Cade, Paolo, Wemby, Zacch (I still think he has solid 2nd best player on a championship team potential), and Flagg are good enough prizes that no team should get a top 4 pick in the next 5 years after getting them
