NHL Highlights | Devils vs. Blackhawks | November 12, 2025

New Jersey Devils team three wins in
their last five games. Not too shabby. Luke Hughes getting a ton of ice. Yeah,
coming up their first home loss of the season. The Devils starting a long road trip
here today. Should jumps away from Hughes, pops out of the corner and the Blackhawks look
for a way out. Davo Terrain carries it up ice, slips it across. He has m on the backhand save.
Markstrom got his own rebound. Mave tried to jam it back on goal. Marstrom was ready. It’s a
nice rush by MAV, but he almost had a little more space to even take it and drive it towards
the net. Alex Blic down the boards. Oliver Moore, the rookie, exchanging with Bedard. Across it goes
Louis Kier through traffic. Save Markstrom. Picked up and carried out by Bratz. He’s sure checked
hard by Felino. L ahead on left wing. Here’s Brat with a step saved by Knights. Jasper Brat. A
burst of speed. Power play. They’re going to look to get the puck through Connor Bard as he comes
through the neutral zone. Bad turns it over up the middle. It’s Pratt into the zone. He has Heir
with him. A pass attempt broken up and then Heir spun it to go Knight with a pass save by Dylan
after the entry and Colobby. This is the one you saw. This is a long twoon one. And this is where
he sure he thinks he has him on the weak side post and he does but can’t quite get coming off a year
where their power play was the best in decades and a pharmaceutical power play. Donado shot blocker
save Marstrom and the puck reaches the netting to start things up here. Got a nice little
clean face off win by Bard to start it off to the circle. What an opportunity. He’s
been on fire. This is great look where he’s coming. He’s asking for it and just off the
post. Here is Bedard juking to the outside in over the line. Sneaks a pass. Lev moving
in. Snaps one off the post. Bedard to pick it up across the seam. Green and Marstrom
flexes that away. Heir up the far boards. Bard slows it down. Keeps it in. Shoots. Shoots.
Looking for Bertusi and Marstrom made the save. Bard for Green across. Oh, what a save
by Marstrom on Terra Biden. Now Bertusi for Bernard across holding
Terra Biden. Bernard scores. goals in four in a row for Conor Bernard and he
breaks the ice in Chicago tonight. What a sequence of events. This time Bard’s looking for Batusi
in front eventually. Look at Marstrom absolutely flying all over the seam passes the same and then
Marstrom can’t find his positioning after that. Eventually, this is the look finds Bard and look
at Marstrom up there all over it. for the 13th most in franchise history. He continues to climb
the franchise leaderboard at just 24 years of age off the draw. Devils get the takeaway and Hughes
with a pretty good looking chance. Rock solid like this is the kind of game that just frustrates you
if you’re the Devils. Right up tight. They’ve got numbers. There’s another turnover. It’s more to
bring it up by Vertusi with it. Vertusi with a step and Marstrom got there. Kaiser left that for
nobody. Rick lingering. Hughes in the corner with room. Hughes around. Kaiser draws a penalty.
Steering pass and it’s off the post. Vertusi will touch up but the Devils will have a man
advantage. The pressure and Kaiser takes it. Tight turn out of the corner. Opens up
feeds Meyer up top. Luke Hughes at the point for Jack at the bottom of the circle.
Centering pass and Knight got in the way off the draw kick saved by Knights off the
sharp angle bid and the guard’s habits and and plays stop. Here’s a stretch pass. Hughes
in on some Hughes stopped by Knights. Biggest save of the game for Spencer Knights. Fletched
it forel. Well, Spencer Knight has been tested and look at the Hugh speed with time and
just tracks him cuz Hughes has protects the puck and just goes to his forehand. Up and
down we go. Stretch pass to Heir. He has a save and aggressively out of the edge of the
crease. All the way and shortly after that, Colby. It’s another dangerous chance. 28 seconds.
Popped out of the corner. Seanthaler hands it off. Meyer plays it across. Nez locates Heir
and Heir gains the Chicago line. Drop back. Nez on the rush on the back half. He scores.
Simone Nemitz with the Devils in transition. Pops one on the back hand and ties the
game at one late in the second period. Well, and this is on the transition and he sure
comes in across the zone and just a little delay high in the zone and Bard goes for the stick check
and can’t quite catch him and just almost the long reach fools Knight a little bit as he goes across
the backand is always a tough shot to read for a goalender. Little bit of deception and just finds
enough of on the pitch around it goes. Premier rotates it back to Blic this way. Blic centers.
Big defensive play by Hughes to lock sticks up with Sam Laperty. Still the Blackhawks maintain
possession. Shot score. Slagger takes it home. Some great positioning by the Blackhawks. But you
know it’s creepy at the point. Felino draws in two players and then it’s Slagger. Creier is
ready when the puck comes to him. Great hand eye by Slagard in the slot area. Lift it out of
the zone. Will pick it up. It’s a twoon one for Chicago and Marstrom having to come up with the
goods. The other end we saw the Hughes brothers making a good read. That was a funny bounce
but Terrain settles it. He’s looking for McKay, but great decision after didn’t work by
Blic to get back after the angle up high. White looking for a stick. Knight came out the
challenge. Good reads and jump to close. It’s been impressive here really all night. Red Shift
fires saved by Knight. Got his own rebound play to the cross. Here’s Jack Hughes across Score.
Dawson Mercer has tied the game for New Jersey for Mercer. Alex, there’s the AT&T connected
cam and you think about new line combinations. So Mercer with Hughes and what a pass that
Hughes finds Mercer. Just heads up play but huge credit to Mercer. He has to adjust
his body positioning as that puck is coming across to make sure that he can get the
angle for the one time. He built up this matchup. Centering pass. He sure off the outside
of the goal. Put back on. Quick shot in tight by Meer. We talked about his gaps before playing
physical. Just those little things that Flash wants to see from his team. Out by Felino.
Here come the Blackhawks. Ly to the outside as good as it gets and Marstrom is hurt on the play and then look
what happens. Laughy coming in. What a tow drag. Brings it across and holds on to it and the
sprawling Marstrom can’t get there. What a finish. Bobby. Yeah, Sam Laferty possesses some pretty
good speed and I think with Luke Hughes going back for that. I mean ultimately you want to get
body on body there. Donado tied up at the side of the cage by Seanthaler and the Devils will
find a way out. Hughes makes a move on Bedard at center. Hughes pulls up waiting for support.
Jack Hughes locates a man on the outside and the Devils score to tie the game with 346 to go.
A beautiful passing play and guess who? Simone Nemits involved once again. Another clutch goal.
Stephan Nason finding him on the transition play to tie the game. Well, that’s what we’ve seen
from the Devils all night. They have been able to get up the ice quickly and it’s Hughes that
comes through the neutral zone and then he waits for the support and just a beautiful backhand
pass and the poise and the patience cuz this all starts it’s Hughes that makes the move on
Bard. He’s trying to communicate to make sure they get the coverage back. How many times have
we seen the delay? That’s an elite backhand pass off the stick. It’s Hughes for Mercer at the
net, but he digs. He’s stopped by Knights. Picking up steam. Here’s Team O Meer flying into
the zone. Meer shoots in tight. Knight with the save. Opens on his backand. Leaves it for Luke
Hugh. Starts to the outside. Drives in and Knight is there once again. Left pad, right? Spencer
Knight has been exceptional. Marstrom stretch pass. He has Chicago caught. Nits with a hat
trick and the overtime winner. Simone Nimttz. An alltime performance. He singlehandedly
brings the Devils back and wins it in overtime before his tying goal on Monday. And now he has
a hat-tick tonight. Look at the awareness and that is a beautiful shot knowing how much
time you have and the release. Marstrom, he deserves some great credit for the pass all
the way up to the far blue line and just snaps it home top shelf. What a night for Nez. Yeah, I
was watching Luke Hughes coming off after he had such a great chance. Kept that play alive all
the way back to zone and wanted to change. Who came on? Nemits. and he stretched it right out
to the blue line right here. What an absolute perfect pass. Caught in a line change Chicago
and quick up. You wanted a quick up, Jen. They gave it to you a couple minutes later and it was
to the right guy. What a game. What a performance.

  1. Donato with the late frustration hit on Nemec, too. Watch the replay. He has his eye on the puck the whole time. Watches it go top shelf then turns in and hits him anyways, and the kid just shrugs it off. 😂 We see you unc.

  2. What a treat it is to watch a regular season game and have each team play their heart out. NJ celebrating like they just won a playoff series. Way different from the boring hockey I grew up watching in the 2000's. So much talent on the individual level, so much more exciting 💯

  3. This could have gone either way!!! Too bad the Hawks lost this one, they need to work on their defense just a bit more so that it doesn't happen again!!! What a game!!! I'll gladly watch it again later!!!
