THE HERD | Colin Cowherd WORRIED Denver Broncos And Bo Nix Will STRUGGLE Vs Kansas City | NFL

Broncos Colin 8 and2 record. Yeah, that’s the best in the league. However, Bo Nicks continues to struggle. You know that Thursday night game, holy hell, he was bad against the Raiders. Well, uh, Chase Daniel, former NFL quarterback has chimed in. Believes Knicks is in a hurry in the pocket, adding every single throw. Ball, it’s just dying. He’s not seeing the field. Well, this does not bode well going up against a Spagnolo defense that cons had a week off to prepare for this game. This is a huge game in the division. If the Broncos somehow win this, Colin, you could just lock up the division. They’re they’re not getting caught up uh they’d be up three games on the Chiefs. I think he I think Bo looks nervous in the first half. He’s pressing and then I think Shawn Payeyton is overcompensating with the calls. You can’t have Courtland Sutton, Evan Ingram, Harvey, JK Dobbins, Franklin. You can’t have this many good players on offense and you can’t score for three quarters. You think it’s that good of a supporting cast? Oh, I think Evan Ingrams super athletic. I think their receiving core has got a bunch of solid guys. Long can run. I like both their running backs. O line’s top three in the league. I I’m sorry. Daniel Jones is putting up number one offense in the league with a similar supporting cast with a good old line and very Now I think Jonathan Taylor’s better than anybody in the building in Denver, but the point is you got to be better than this. You have to be. So, uh, the the few times I’ve watched Bo Knicks closely when I bet on the Broncos, Colin, the defenses are saying we’re going to play the safeties deep cuz we’re not going to get beat on bombs. And I don’t think you can metriculate the ball down the field on a nineplay 80 yard drive. You’re going to screw up. And Bo Nicks is just like taking the bait. He’s like, “No, I got something deep.” And he keeps chucking these bombs and they’re just not even close to happening. And Mims, his burner, out with a concussion. We don’t know if he’s going to be back. I just don’t know if I trust Nick Knicks to have one of these ball control drives down the field. Okay. Well, as someone who’s watched every Broncos game and every Bow Knicks game, not just the ones that I guess I have some sort of uh personal uh stake involved. Um I I I’m not so sure that’s what defenses are doing where they’re just like, “We don’t believe that you can throw the ball.” Like, uh I don’t even know. Um, I got really excited actually because I’ve been making a bunch of videos and I’m like, “Oh, you know, I gotta make another video. What do I got to do?” And then I remember that I had this clip queued up. I mean, I didn’t watch it yet, but I knew it was a Broncos clip and I was like, “Oh, yeah.” I literally cuz I’m like, “This is going to be the last clip that I’m making today.” And I just like jumped up and I was like, “Oh, I got a Broncos clip. Like, yes, let’s go.” And I’m I’m pumped for this game. Obviously, naturally, I’ve been talking about it before the Raiders game. I was just like I one of my whole speech, you either are or you aren’t. you either are or you aren’t. And this game does mean everything right now. The vibes, we always joke about like what do vibes mean for an NFL team? Um it’s both can be inflated and made up the way how uh Brew has done it with uh the supernatural funk or whatever with the Eagles. But then there is vibes as in like how do you feel as a team? You know, how do how do you feel? What do you believe you’re capable of doing? Do you believe that you’re actually a top team? are you getting antsy about the way you’re winning, etc., etc. A team is a living, breathing uh unit and you beat the Chiefs, it’s just going to skyrocket you. It’s not going to just be, ah, yeah, divisional games are tough or this, oh, the Chiefs aren’t as good as they’ve been in years. No, it is going to be an absolute spark to create a massive, massive fire for this Broncos team. They are all going to believe we are legit. We are great. We can get after this. We are we are on track now to win the division to have a top seed, if not the number one seed in the NFL. And you win this game. It’s like look what our defense did to Mahomes. We stifled him. Look at Bo Knicks against that Spags defense. Like you are going to feel like you are just ready to get after if you beat the Chiefs. It’s like, yeah, I understand that the Chiefs aren’t considered the best team in the NFL right now, which is fine, but at the same time, you have to imagine they’re still the hard it’s still incredibly difficult to find your way through a win against the Kansas City Chiefs and beating them. Bo Nicks, Shawn Payne taking on Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. I’m telling you, if you if think about how you feel as a fan if you watch that game and the Broncos win, you’re gonna feel like you are on top of the world, that you are just ready to conquer. You’re like, “That’s right. The reign of the Chiefs is over. Let’s go. Broncos win the division.” You’re going to feel amazing. The team itself, the coaching staff, the roster, the players, they’re not maybe going to be as emotionally as hyped because they have to kind of, you know, manage themselves a little bit more than say a fan sitting at home. But they’re going to be fired up, man. And Shawn Payeyton is going to use that to snowball into greatness. Absolutely positively, 1,000%. You lose this game and you lose this game convincingly. It’s obvious that you are just not good enough. The Chiefs win 28 to 14 or something. And it’s just clear that like you can’t get this offense going. Yeah, this defense is great. And yeah, this defense has is playing really high level, but like not against Momes, not against Andy. Travis Kelce keeps finding himself open. Rasheed Rice hitting deep. Xavier Worthy on a nice little gadget play, right? And it’s just like, h there you go. Patrick Mahomes, you got him, but he’s able to scramble, find his way through, make a big play, and you’re just like automatically feels like fool’s gold. you automatically like, well, we could have lost to the Giants. Could have lost to the Eagles, could have lost to the Raiders, could have lost to the Titans, could have lost. If you just could have lost, could have lost. Could have lost. Should have lost. And it pops. And I’m And I’m telling you right now, the players feel it, too. Like, they understand that this is the game that matters most. This is the game that you figure out who are we. Yeah. You’re excited about beating the Giants. Yeah, you’re excited about beating. Yeah. All that stuff does matter too, but in a lot of ways it’s already in the past and it’s about what’s right in front of you right now. And like Bo Nicks plays great in this game. Then there is no more he’s not seeing it. And defenses are saying, “No, we can’t. You can’t beat us.” Like it just automatically changes. Like this is the game. This is the moment for Bone Knicks. He’s at home. He’s got he’s he’s got the team momentum to be like, “Yeah, I am taking a big step forward. This is my year. I am a great quarterback. This is not a sophomore slump.” Or I mean, Colin’s not even considering a sophomore slump. Colin’s already talking about having Shawn Payne and the Broncos draft a quarterback next year, which at this pace, at this rate, who would they be drafting? because they’re going to have a high seed. So, even logistically, you’re kind of like, uh, but like that is the conversation. It’s what is wrong with this? And that has been the conversation throughout the course of the season. What is wrong with this offense? What is wrong with the offense? And people have had said similar things about the Philadelphia Eagles last year, but at least they had that run game to consistently rely on because they’re like, “Oh, what’s wrong with the passing game? what’s wrong with the passing game? This has just been like, what’s wrong with the offense? And like this year, people are very concerned about the Philadelphia Eagles throughout it because they’re just like, uh, the passing game isn’t really there. has been inconsistent and the run game is inconsistent and the old line isn’t as good and the defense isn’t as good and they lead the NFL in three and outs and b and you start it’s like you can’t there’s nothing for you to like sit back on and right now offensively for the for the Denver Broncos there’s not enough for you to sit back on you’re not like well we know the Broncos are going to be able to at least rush for 130 against that Chief’s defense you know like there’s no strong sense of that like even Cook and the Buffalo Bills going up against the Chiefs, there’s a sense of like, well, Cook can cook and you don’t necessarily have that maybe that same level of confidence. Not saying that you shouldn’t have confidence. Not saying that that run game can’t get going or do what it needs to do against the Kansas City Chiefs, but you don’t have that same level of chest out. Saquon Barkley is definitely going to feast on this defense. Like, you don’t have that. And so, that continues to put a tremendous amount of pressure on Shawn Payeyton to find a way and Bo Nicks to deliver. And I am not even saying that this all should be on Bo Nick’s shoulders. I’m not saying this needs to be a game where Bo Nicks throws the ball 35 times for 310 yards. Like I’m not saying that either. They decide that they want to hand the ball off and run the ball 25 times because that’s what Shaw Payton sees fit. Like great, go for it. I don’t know what the game plan should be against the Kansas City Chiefs. I’m not on the payroll. But this game means everything. And I’m the king of minimizing games and their impact. I’m the king of saying I just want to see you play well. I just want to see see that you can hang, right? It’s a divisional game, but like I I I can downplay or elevate any game in in any given moment. To me, this game truly means everything right now. It mean it means everything. And the Detroit Lions versus the Philadelphia Eagles through the roof importance. The Seahawks and the Rams through the roof importance. I mean, we’re we’re we’re at the point of the season when you’re trying so hard to make sense of like, what did I just see? How do I make sense of the Broncos beating the Raiders in that way? How do I make sense of the Eagles beating the Packers in that way? How do I make sense of of all the teams that the Rams beat but then losing to the Eagle, right? How do I make and losing to M. Jones and the 49ers? How do I make sense of Sam Darnold season with the Seahawks right now? Like, how do I how do I how do I make sense? And you make sense by right now going up against the other top teams who are also trying to make sense of everything right now. And that’s the Kansas City Chiefs or the Broncos. And in a lot of ways, same thing for the Kansas City Chiefs because they’re just like, “Yeah, we lost the Buffalo Bills, but that’s the Buffalo Bills. Yeah, we lost the Jags. That was a fluke. Yeah, we lost earlier in the season, but we didn’t have Rasheed Rice. We didn’t have Xavier Worthy. The Broncos are our little brother. We don’t lose to the Broncos. We don’t lose to them. get out of here. They lose to the Broncos here. They’re just like, “Oh man, we really are not as great as we were.” And the Broncos win, they’re saying, “Yeah, you’re not on our level. These things matter. These things matter. This is a big time game and big time pressure. Bo Nicks knows it. Shawn Payeyton knows it. The players know it. Do you elevate? Do you rise to the occasion in this moment? Yes or no? It is insanely important to get those answers right now. You need to know, do you rise to the occasion? All hands on deck. That has not been great. Can you elevate? And we can just use Jaylen Herz as a recent example of doing that. Not only obviously in the Super Bowl, but even this season, how this season was not unfolding. You had some weird stuff. AJ Brown offense can’t get going. A ton of three and outs and then we the Eagles were in this moment when it was like, man, you got to elevate. You got to step up. and he did against the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants. Answer the call. That’s a seasoned veteran. That’s a guy who’s now been there and played multiple Super Bowls, has proven that he can handle that moment. It’s not like I’m expecting all of that on Bo Nick’s shoulders in year two. But you do want to start to see flavors of that. You do want to start to see representations of that. And what better against the Kansas City Chiefs at home where you have the you’re in a position to take take a commanding lead. I’m not going to go as far as Jac where you’re just like, “Oh, the division’s over because it’s football. Anything can happen in any given moment.” But like, yeah, you take a massive gigantic step to solidifying that. And you’re not in Arrowhead. You’re at home. You’re in Denver. And you yeah, you didn’t have a a buy like the Chiefs did, but you played on Thursday. You got some time off. You got you got to rest up. You got your little mini buy. You know the Chiefs. Shawn Payeyton knows the Chiefs. Bon Knicks knows the Chiefs. Everyone knows the Chiefs. So, what are you going to do? It’s what it all coming down to. And I’m Oh, man. I am so pumped for this game. We got such good games. This weekend it’s it’s unbel I mean we have a couple weeks where sometimes games are just like kind of like h who really cares. This weekend they’re like dude NFL’s like let’s just this week right now when we’re kind of reaching a lull and people are kind of starting to get anxious and trying to look too much too far into the into the playoffs right now. Like this these games may as well be playoff games. The Packers versus Eagles like that may as well have been a playoff game. This game right here is going to have a playoff atmosphere. I can guarantee you that. a playoff atmosphere. And if you win, you take one gigantic step forward to solidifying a home playoff game. Wouldn’t that be nice? Yes, it would. You either are or you aren’t. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours. What do you guys all think about the Denver Broncos? Uh Bo Knicks taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. How do you feel about it? You feeling good? You feeling confident? You feeling scared? You feeling nervous? You feeling hesitant? Optimistic, pessimistic. How do you feel this game’s going to unfold? We’ll be talking about this game a whole bunch. Um, there’s going to be plenty of first things first clips, I’m sure, with Nick Red and blah blah blah blah blah. Those clips are going to be hard to get through. I’m telling you right now, I’m going to try my best, but it’s it’s going to be a struggle. U, but let me know your thoughts in the comments below. I read every single comment. So, you agree with me or disagree with me. Either way, it’s getting some discussions. Let’s get in some fights, but ultimately let’s just have some fun. 1. Hey, KC fears Denver, if you want to know the truth. If you look back in recent history, yes a decade is recent. Denver owned KC from the 70s up to the Mahomes aera. Their claim to fame up that point was an MNF game featuring Elway and Montana in 1994. Since SB 50 Denver has gone through the gauntlet with the owner dying and the family trust mismanaging the team. Like NE, KC had a free reign of the division due to the lack of quality teams in opposition. But all that has changed. No easy pass any longer. Even if KC wins on Sunday they will still be one game out. If Denver wins it will still be a fight to the finish. I don’t think the Chargers are out of it yet. Bottom line, Denver is a much tougher out that people think.

  2. Colin needs to either jump on or jump off! We don’t need validation from the sports media… 8-2 with the nastiest defense in the league! Either buy in or sell!!!

  3. Broncos out played the Chiefs last year in Denver the entire game, lost on missed 30 yard field goal as time ended. Broncos are better this year, not sure the Chiefs are better , perhaps worse than last year.

  4. Bo Nix played three games in 11 days, had 7 TD's 4 Ints and 3 Sacks……… He also had multiple 2pt conversions in that stretch and the dumb ass media is still going to claim he's doing "poorly". I sincerely hope Drake Maye sucks ass tomorrow just so I can witness the deflection that will occur. Last drive of the Raiders game Bo nix had ICE in his veins, where was Jaylen Hurts ice in the last drive against the Packers? There was none! The Raiders ALWAYS play us tough

  5. I have had bad feelings about the big games and Denver has pulled through. The bigger the opponents reputation, we have seemed to step up and compete, then against the teams with poor records we have only been able to win by a hair. Now we are here and we are missing key players. I am worried but hopeful we can step up.

  6. To sit here and compare him to Daniel Jones, who is lucky to be starting for a team still after how bad he was in his second year is absolutely absurd.

It’s also absurd to assume you know what’s going on in his head. He’s not nervous. Nervous quarterbacks don’t have 3 4 fourth-quarter comebacks and do it against good teams. Nervous quarterbacks can’t do that. He’s just young. He’s still learning the position! I know that his haters don’t want to acknowledge that and they want to assume that he’s never going to get better . He’s young and he’s still developing, and the Broncos are still 8–2! You are going to be really mad when he develops. Colin is going to pretend like he saw it coming all along and pretend like he never suggested drafting another quarterback in 2026.

  7. I hear what your saying but what if Bo and the offense do well. The defense does descent and we loose a close game like we did to them last year? Then what’s your response to that? What do you believe the narrative will be if that happens? After all, we’ve played the chiefs tough the last two years. Even going back when Russ was here.

  8. The next game is "The Big Game" that is important to the players, coaches, fans. KC is just next up on the list of teams Broncos needs to deal with,,, then on to Washington Commanders.

  9. I envision us 9 and 2 going into the bye, the odds are against us, but when hasn’t it been this year? Let’s ride that defense and hope the offense can dial up some points and bring on that Mile high magic. This game is for the division title. KC can KMA! Go Broncos !!

  10. I know he may struggle. He's a second year guy in the midst of a slump in terms of his footwork, which is wrecking his accuracy.

But he knows it, and so do his coaches.

If they can help him unlock the door, he's going to go off.

The guy has won 7 in a row in his second year. That's a good accomplishment. He stood toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead last year and the field goal was blocked.

JK Dobbins will likely be out. He was the victim of an illegal hip drop tackle in the Raiders game that wasn't even penalized because the referees can be incompetent.

I'm thinking RJ Harvey is going to get some opportunities.

I hope Bo can pull it off. If he can, great! If not, okay. A lot of teams have trouble with Patrick Mahomes.

They'll be harder on Bo, which isn't fair, because the offense, aside from the line protecting him, has been way too inclined to get unnecessary penalties, which just adds to Bo's problems because he may feel it's all on him.

  11. Kansas city is about to shit on Denver… I have no confidence in Denver because Bo isnt seeing the field. The mistakes Denver consistently makes every week Kansas city will capitalize on them.

  12. how do you make sense of ANY Broncos / Raiders game???? You don't. Records and stats don't matter when they face off. It is the most fierce rivalry in the NFL. mY BLOOD HAS BEEN ORANGE FOR 50 YEARS…I REFUSE TO BET ON ANY BROCOS RAIDERS GAME.

  13. Mahomes is undefeated after a bye and is 13-1 v the Broncos. After coming away with a humiliating loss against the Bills, I just cannot see KC losing this game to drop to 5-5. I also think Bo is a year or two away from becoming a reliable dude under center

  14. They will struggle some for sure, but the good thing this season is that Kansas City themselves struggle against good teams. The Broncos are a good team, especially on defense & because it's also on the road, the Denver Broncos will win. I said it in one of your livestreams that Bo Nix will run in the GW score to beat Kansas City at home & I'll stand by that. I say 23-17 Denver in overtime. Kansas City drops to 5-5 & that talk of the "Brady drought" for Mahomes will have even more legs imo, Julian 👀

  15. Broncos Missing

    Starting LG: Powers
    Starting CB: PS2 DPOY (pec)
    Starting RB: JK Dobbins (foot)
    Starting LB: Singleton (cancer)

All of the media hates and been talking shit about Den non stop. The world hates Bo
Broncos are under dogs at home

    Bring it on

  16. The Broncos will beat the Chiefs even without JK Dobbins with the Foot injury Julian Bo Nix will shine in this one believe me just like last time against Mahomes it will look nothing like Thursday Night's game Period!!!

  17. The Bo Nix slander has been crazy! Win or lose this week he’s earned plenty of time to grow! DEN is going to miss Dobbins/PS2/Powers/Singleton and maybe Mims. Gonna be a battle!

  18. Completely disagree, beating the eagles on the road holds way more significance than beating a chiefs team that’s 1-4 against teams with a .500 or above record at home. Not even close

  19. Everyone knows that the NFL will not allow Denver to win this game. Holding penalties will be called left and right on Denver and every deep throw missed by Mahomes will have a PI call.

  20. A chiefs team that’s on the rise and a broncos team that is depleted and ready for a week off…if Kansas City loses this they should be panicking. Oh and broncos are second in the league in drops….so

  21. Mims back is important, Bo needs to play a quarter at a time. Win the quarter trust your line make quick decisions take what the D gives you, he needs to make progress as a professional this Sunday
