Kesselring: “We had such a good fan base here [Utah]. It was so nice just seeing all the positive things all the time. … You see the other side of it now in a hockey market. They’re pretty critical.”

Man for all the talk about hockey players being tough they seem awfully emotionally fragile
Fans are critical because the organization doesn’t despise losing as much as it should despite playing in one of the most rabid hockey markets in the league. Utah on the other hand is invested in the long term success of their team and wants to draw new fans in.
Then go play somewhere else.
If Utah, or any organization, had a 15 year playoff drought I can guarantee you wouldnt see “all the positive things all the time.”
It’s all positive because the city got handed a hockey team that was just starting to come out of a 5 year rebuild.
I do not interpret this as a slight against Buffalo or Buffalo fans, he’s just stating fact. We are critical, and the team more than earns the criticism. Highly engaged fanbase means lower lows and higher highs than a disengaged fanbase. Kesselring is a big boy and he knows the team has to earn praise, it’s not free.
Just think….he’s been here less than a year
Thanos (GMKA) collecting Infinity Stones (mentally weak hockey players)
Franchise: willfully sets world record for playoff drought
Also franchise: “Why you all so critical?”
Sounds like he’s already jealous of Peterka
He played like absolute dogshit last night, maybe he threw the game?
All these losers can go and get fucked. Play on another team.
Gee I wonder why the media around a team in a rabid hockey market than hasn’t sniffed the playoffs in 15 years might not be all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a real stumper.
Bunch of babies. Play better. We get it, the odds are stacked against you but put the effort in and we won’t be “mad” at the players.
Actually disgraceful. This team is so so hard to like. You can be bad and still likable but it seems like they go out of their way to be clueless and disrespectful to a city and fanbase that’s gone through absolute hell with this team.
The bar is on the floor. Play like you give a damn and the fans WILL get behind you. Mail it in before Thanksgiving and cry about it on top of that and expect to see more sweaters on the ice. Fucking pathetic.
Team full of losers. Get him out of here if he can’t handle it.
The Sabres are a team of babies.
lol yeah it’s the fans
I know of 31 other fan bases that would be at least as negative or just fully checked out in the same situation
Hell, they get negative when they’ve made the playoffs eight seasons in a row
It’s just lame that he doesn’t nor have any of these guys acknowledged the fact that we are critical because we care about the team and want to see them succeed
He doesn’t get it.
It’s not because we’re a hockey market. It’s because we’re at 14 years with no playoffs and looking at 15 most likely. The all time record was 10 before we shattered that mark.
Utah is brand new. So they have zero baggage to be critical of. It’s all roses and sunshine over there for now.
Good fan base?
For a team in year 2 with an exciting core of young talent that arena looked like it was 3/4 full from my tv.
Aka Kesselring gets traded to Buffalo, spends one week here: “….FUCK”
