Courtesy on NFL Reddit. Early downs continue to be a problem for a very long time. Execution play calling it’s all a problem.

  1. The number one thing that infuriates me about the Tomlin Steelers is that the defense is focused on forcing opponents into 3rd and long situations, while the offense also plays for 3rd and long situations. Why would you intentionally play the way you want your opponents offense to play?

Run, run , pass, punt. Bonus points for the pass being thrown 5 yards behind the line to gain.

  2. It’s not early downs or third downs it’s just bad offence. It’s also the same problem that has been there since Ben started declining. We can’t or don’t throw in the mid depth routes consistently, everything is either short or deep.

  3. We don’t have a left tackle and we don’t have a legitimate second receiver. That’s the problem. It’s not playcalling. The playcalling is hamstrung by the fact that our left tackle is absolutely horrendous and our second receiver is Calvin Austin.
