Indianapolis Colts Get A Double Dose Of Good News During Bye Week..

All right, the Indianapolis Colts get a double dose of good news while they’re on a by-week. If you’re new to the channel, we are Detroit Lions fans, but this channel is fully dedicated to to teams that just kind of get overlooked by the national media. Um, teams that, you know, just just don’t get talked about like they should. Indianapolis Colts, one of those teams. More and more people are talking about it because you’re 8 and2, but as Lions fans, we’ve been there. We know all about it. Just kind of disrespected in general by like the media. That’s what it feels like. Check it out, though. 8-2. All you can ask for. Doesn’t matter how you get there. You’re eight and two. You got to love it. Here’s two good things during the buy that you you have to be kind of excited about if you’re a Colts fan. Number one, if you look at your schedule, first of all, is perfect and and love this. So, you’re on the by-week now. A late buy is perfect. But the team that’s closest to you, the Jacksonville Jags, have a devastating loss last week that is just in inexcusable. can’t happen. And oh by the way, you get to play them twice still. You’ve yet to play them. So a lot of people look at it kind of opposite of how you should. And that is oh Jacksonville, they got the Colts twice. They can win that now because all the Colts have to do is win one of those two games and and it just nullifies everything and and Jacksonville can’t catch you. So I was like, “Oh yeah, we have two head-to-head matchups. Perfect. And we’re on the buy. Jacksonville’s reeling and Jacksonville plays a really hot Chargers team right now. So that’s good news number one. Schedule’s just lining up perfect for you and now that you’re at the buy, you can reset, take a look at it and love having the late buy. The other thing I think you got to be excited about is while this one’s kind of interesting, um you you have to be excited. So, a report came out that I don’t know, Indianapolis has some flaws or whatever, right? And being eight and two, it’s like, okay, I’ll take it. I I’ll take what what are our flaws? Big flaw is the Athletic said, I’ve been hesitant to jump on the Colts bandwagon primarily because of my doubts about Jones. For most of the season, he had defied the odds and performed well, however, two fumbles in the first eight games. He has six fumbles in the last two. I look at this as such a positive. If you’ve been able to, you lost a game, fine. You find a way to win. That’s with all of these fumbles and these turnovers and just kind of a little bit of sloppy play. So, it feels like this is a perfect time to hit the buy, regroup, and even with bad play and just kind of in general, you’re still able to win. That tells me offensive line’s good, the running back good, the defense is good. This there’s a culture now developing. um in Indianapolis that you just haven’t had in a long time. Same thing with Lions, right? Just you just didn’t h have a culture. I thought that was just a bunch of words. I don’t know what what culture, you know, he’s like whatever. It’s like no, what what you’ve got is like we’re not going to we’re not going to lose six games in a row. We’re not going to do that. It’s you recover, you get back. So these sloppy play is actually like oh my gosh. Uh, I’m not worried about that because we’re still able to win and we’re not even playing good and we’re able to win. So, people that have their doubts, I look at it like I mean 8 and two, what else do you what else do you want from that? Okay, so another one. Let me give you um let me give you a bonus here. Another article came out that kind of questioning what would Daniel Jones contract look like? And he’ll be 29 years old entering the season next year. The top quarterbacks in the league make $55 million a year. So, you’re kind of like, what’s that per year average look like? And Spo says it could be a 4-year um $183 million deal. So, he’s gonna get top money because if he doesn’t get it, if you don’t give it to him, somebody else is. But you don’t have to give him $60 million a year. So, what’s happening is the best quarterbacks, you’re just your highest paid, your highest paid. And in a couple years, you’re the now the seventh highest paid quarterback. But I don’t think you even have to go all the way up there with Daniel Jones. Instead, you make him the fifth highest paid quarterback. That seems like, whoa, is he really the fifth? No, no, no, it doesn’t matter because in just a couple years he’ll be the 10th highest paid quarterback. You’re off and rolling. You got him for four years. Perfect. So, that’s great news. And you don’t have to worry about that. Um, locking up your quarterback because look at what the Minnesota Vikings did. They played games with Sam Darnold, he left. They played games with Daniel Jones, he left. You don’t have a quarterback. You have to have a quarterback. It’s kind of like a house. That’s That’s a lot of money for a house. Well, you had you got to have one. So, you can either pay up or not have a house. It’s like, well, I I guess I got to have a house. Yeah. You know, you pay the going rate and you got to absolutely have a quarterback. Everybody knows it. So, love that the Indianapolis Colts I think I mean, again, they’re going to be just fine here because the late buy and then they’ve got the Jags twice. They’re the only competition for them in this division and they’re going to be just fine. So Daniel Jones can play a little sloppy. Almost doesn’t matter because again, Colts sitting real pretty. Jags, you just need the Jags to lose. There’s no real world in which the Texans catch you. Unless they just go, I mean, just go on fire here for the next for the last six games or whatever, but seven games. But it’s the Jags. beat them once. Man, you’re you’re golden. Oh my gosh. Yeah. I just, you know, it’s great to see the Colts doing well because it’s just kind of been you haven’t been like the worst team in the league. It’s not that. It’s just that you were a a franchise of excellence there. just some runs with with uh Payton Manning and then Hope stayed real high when it with Andrew Luck came in and then like it wasn’t that you were bad, it was just like what’s the what’s our future? I just can’t see out past this year. I can only see kind of like this bridge quarterback, another bridge quarterback. Uh okay, I think this guy might be the answer, but he’s not. So, you’ve actually got a a pretty young quarterback, 29 years old. What the heck? Five more years of this where it’s like surround him with really good players. We don’t have to pay him a ton. We don’t have to pay him top dollar. I love that. And then we’ll we’ll figure it out from there. I love that. Be strategic in free agency. Draft well. The Colts and plus the division. The Jags should be better. The Texans should be better. The Titans should be a little bit better by now. But the division’s yours for the taking is basically where we’re at. Texans should be able to light it on fire if they were had a good good offensive line, but they don’t. So, all right, not going to apologize for that. Going to go out, win the division, get a home playoff game, and then from there, that’s all you can do. That’s like literally all that we’re doing for this whole regular season is to try to win the division, get a home playoff game, win that one, then all right, see where we’re at. We can match up with anybody in the AFC. Let’s do it. Then you play the Chiefs, the Bills, the Chargers, the Ravens in the second round, and then you’re off to the AFC Championship game.
