Imma try and make this short and sweet. I don't think we should be judging Ja from his play thus far this season for a multitude of reasons. The biggest being he's trying to change his game. I don't think he can't score in the paint the way he used to. Ja's bounce was looking great in the off season, but that reckless scoring is what kept him off the floor and put him in this position.

Another big reason for his play is the fanbase. Say what you want, Ja's mood heavily affects his game, and he's probably chronically online. I don't know what human could go through seeing this and not be in their head even if it's only a little.

I'm not worried about the shot. It has fallen at a high clip before in spurts. I think he just needs to know it's going in and it will.

I've got more, but I'll make this my last point. Every struggle we're seeing from the team(besides effort) like turnovers was spoken about before the season began and now we're acting like it was never said while THE TEAM IS BUIT AROUND JA AND KEY PLAYERS ARE MISSING. Edey, and Ty will make things much easier for Ja and the others playing out of POSITION as well.

I know it sucks to see the team lose, but let's have some patience. Come February, if nothing has changed then we should be concerned

  1. At the end of the day he’s the franchise player that’s regressed drastically. No matter how much love the fanbase has for him he’s gonna get criticism for his bad play.

  2. If we don’t judge him for how this season has gone, how about the last two where he screwed us over with his selfish antics? Can we judge him for that? Or does he get an eternal pass because he has a highlight reel of him ALMOST dunking on a bunch of guys? I’m just wondering, when is it okay to acknowledge that our franchise player is underperforming? Because it’s been happening for three years now.

  3. Yeah, there are some valid reasons why Ja is struggling.

However, it exposes that his best basketball is a bit circumstantial.

He needs great screens, great spacing, great defenders, the right rotations to feel comfortable, good rebounders, a good whistle and strong support on social media. Currently he is getting none of those but his list of needs are too long too.

  4. He’s also playing with the Tune Squad right now and is upgrading to the Monstars here shortly. It’s not so easy to dominate when Bill Murray is setting screens for you.

  5. Ok. Please pay me a 5 year, $197,230,450 contract, with an average annual salary of $39,446,090, and don’t judge me.

  6. I was at the game against the Knicks and he legitimately did not care at all – dapping up Knicks fans at timeouts, didn’t realize he had to jump for a ball he just tied up with a guy for etc.

He is supposed to be a leader of the team and the one game I get to see from him this year as a fan is him acting nonchalant and unfocused. I also had hope for a rebound but after watching it live I pretty much lost it
