This quote perfectly sums up what’s going on
Mobley has stopped dribbling up the floor ( he dribbles it and immediately picks up and throws it to the guard)
He still hasn’t adjusted to teams digging the ball out of his hands in which he gets stripped everytime
He isn’t trying to get to rim anymore he’s transforming into Channing Frye which isn’t what anyone wants
He doesn’t have strength to post bigger people up
Kenny in the half court has drawn up no plays for him
Nobdy on this team get him the ball they go opposite way of him
It seems like Kenny and the team are giving up on making a Mobely a second option I don’t get why.

I blame Mitchell and Kenny
how many years are we gonna quotes saying we want Mobley to be great
But it’s proven that they don’t trust him still in some capacity. They are so quick to look him off for a contested three when we are supposed to be experimenting with Evan
Edit: Mitchell still can’t throw Mobley a post pass and it’s very frustrating
Evan really needs playmaking to get involved into the game. He’s like most big men. Anthony Davis has the same problem, except when he gets the ball he knows what to do with it and he will actually get a bucket or fouled. They got to make more of a concerted effort to get him moving off the ball for just small cuts, being involved on pick and roll, and not just settling for 3’s pull an 18 footer and stay within that range or closer till you start to feel it. He’s also got to stay aggressive and try and fight for some rebounds and second chance points. Hustle alone will get him 10 points
They just need to get him the ball deeper in the paint on post ups. Right now he’s practically posting up at the 3 point line. Nobody succeeds having to work your way up from that far.
Soft…
Wait. So last years DPOY doesn’t have a fit in this team? Maybe the coach, should coach?
hes 24 years old
Honestly, why not make him a point forward some of the time to make sure he’s involved?
It’s a long season. I guess every time we lose a game, there will be 732 “disaster is looming” posts here.
Well if he is, that’s as dumb as attributing this random article post from fearthesword to kenny atkinson’s attitude towards Evan Mobley.
He’s taking a lot of mid ranged shots. He’s playing a decent amount of hero, create your own shot type of ball. We’re asking him to do a lot of this out of necessity: while we don’t have garland, in the minutes where our best two players on the court are Mobley and Hunter, someone has to do it. Take it as what it is, he’s getting reps.
when the team is healthy and there are scoring threats everywhere on the court, it opens up and becomes easier when you’ve been working it as a main option.
There were a lot of games last year where you wondered where evan mobley and jarrett allen went on offense because we went away from them down the stretch. That happened tonight. it’ll happen again for whatever incomprehensible reason. don’t take it as an indictment of their game.
love yall man. through thick and thin
They really dont look to get him involved. The jacking of 60 3s a game is killing us. Last year we were #1 in % from 3 for a lot of the season but never 1 3pfga. Then every one blames Allen or Mobley for disappearing. Get them the ball inside and profit. Shoot 3s when open as defenses collapse. Evans also gotta stop passing out of some shots inside 8ft in favor of open 3s. Go dunk that thing
