Y’all acting like the Tigers can just unilaterally decide to keep Skubal. The man has earned the right to see how big of a contract he can get in free agency. If the Tigers go too hard now, Skubal can just sit on that offer until next year, bring it to another club, and use it as leverage.
If he agrees to an extension, he’ll never know how much he could have gotten.
Imagine saying this and then trading the best pitcher in the league.
Maybe this is a sign he’ll be here at least in 2026.
All 36 plus year old pitchers coming off injury or considering retirement just got happy today.

Skubal if he starts 30 times. They get an extra 10 k fans at all those games at 200 bucks a pop plus Skubal jersey sales plus more people tuning in. He makes the tigers twice as much as he would cost them to sign. Plus playoff money.

Resign Skubal and go after Skubal. Trade some big prospects and go for Skenes. Add at least one proven big hitter that consistently gets on base and crushes the ball. Go all in for the World Series please

And no, signing someone coming off of injury for 10+ million will not be worth it for us at this point.
Just sign a guy 100+ million pitcher and call it a day.
Scoring runs on a semi consistent basis is cool, too.
