[Music] You are a [Music] [Music] Do it. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. down. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] [Music] Do it. Do it. [Music] [Music] Um yeah, they scored a couple and um you know, we weren’t able to bury ours. What did you think of your second? Our second period? Um, yeah, I thought it was good. Um, you know, we’re building it. Um, you know, obviously we got one on the power play there and, um, you know, sh. So, um, yeah, we’re playing fast, but we’re in the game and just going to get it done. What’s it going to take to kind of get back to that sound structure you guys have had for so long? Seemed to be a few more coverage breakdowns than we’re used to seeing. Um, just yeah, hard work. um you know bearing down executing um yeah playing together and um you know playing a lot faster I think when it starts our own zone if we can you know make that first pass and um execute on the details um you know just makes the game so much easier and um you know to start the game I think uh you know we don’t really dialed in um missing passes just just easy stuff that’s like um you know frustrating uh when you’re not making those that should be a given every single night and you know the stuff adds up and um you Yeah, you can’t be giving up all those breakdowns, but it starts with uh, you know, being mentally dialed in. How frustrating is it with to not be able to build on the game from Tuesday where looked like you guys kind of cleaned up with a few of those issues? Um, yeah, it’s just we haven’t played a full 60. You know, it’s there were some some glimpses that we really liked our game, but um, you know, we just kind of fall asleep and um, you know, we’re not executing, we’re not uh, we’re playing slow at times and um, yeah, so it’s it’s tough to get something going. I know you would have preferred for it to come in a win. What’s it like to get a power play goal? First first one in a while. Um yeah, just any way I can contribute on um on the power play and um you know, I think uh we’ve we’ve uh had a good structure and foundation um going back to the roots kind of in the last couple games of you know, winning battles and you know, starting with the puck and that creates more zone time and uh you know, obviously being being shooters when you get it. um you know it’s it’s whether whoever scores it’s we got to be so versatile and um you know tonight the puck was sliding over and I had a chance to shoot it and you know another night it’s going to be somebody else so it’s um you know just whatever it calls for in power play teams have kind of cheated your way turn yourself into a good playmaker on the power play as well obviously right yeah uh like I said it’s um you know kind of a function of um just you know the way we been moving the puck and you know what’s been open and um you know if there’s a shot there I’m for sure trying to shoot it but Um you know a lot of times those inside plays is uh we’ve been able to capitalize on it and um uh yeah so it’s just you know don’t force anything and just just kind of see the play then make it. Appreciate it. [Music] [Music] We go up in the third period. Uh I don’t really know. I mean uh I thought we we outplayed them in the third period. They got a had a couple good chances. you know, we had one breakdown in the defensive zone and, you know, it’s we had a twoon-one the other way right before it. So, I mean, still got to make the play there and the goal the other way doesn’t happen. I mean, we thought we um took it to them in the third and, you know, they had a couple chances and capitalized and that was it. How frustrating is it to not be able to stack a couple wins after the way you guys played on Tuesday? Yeah, obviously this isn’t the road trip that, you know, we, you know, planned. um didn’t start it great. We had a, you know, a great game in Vancouver there and um couldn’t follow it up. I thought I mean thought we actually played pretty good at times tonight and then sometimes our execution wasn’t great and um yeah, we we we didn’t execute at at times and it looked a little sloppy, but um you know, I think our effort was good, our intentions were right, and um had a couple breakdowns they capitalized on and we I thought we you know, created some good looks and um just got to get a little more traffic to the net, I think. and um generate a little more from down low. And um yeah, I mean the outside of the breakdowns when you only give up 18 or 19 shots, are you seeing some progress on that front in terms of defending? Yeah, I mean we didn’t give them too too much. I mean it was their first goal tip in front and then uh you know they grab a power play goal weird one that you know from behind the net and then you know a back door. So um not much Bucky can do on those ones. um he made the stops that you know he could make and uh I thought we we limited to him limited them to to not much and then you know obviously can’t give him the kind of looks that he scored on. Um you know the especially that last one they back door tapping. I mean that’s something that we can control and something that we can clean up and um move on and learn from that. But yeah, when you only give up on our 20 shots it’s like I think that’s pretty good. Our I thought our tracking game was pretty good. We scored a goal off the tracking. I think our Dzone at time at times was really good and you know at times was a little shaky but I mean it wasn’t uh you know they just capitalized I think on a lot of their good chances. I know uh Kyle’s Kyle’s managed to stay productive during the stretch but first power play goal since December 23rd. I mean what’s it mean to to get him one to maybe feel even better about the game? Yeah, 100%. Obviously he’s an elite goal scorer but I think in the last year you’ve seen him turn into an elite playmaker on the power play too. So, um, teams obviously know how he can shoot the puck and, um, they were having to honor and respect that and then he was able to use his playmaking ability and and our power play was doing really well at the end of last year and, you know, it’s been been good the last couple games here and obviously it’s great to see him um, get the goal. I mean, he creates that goal with his feet um, on the PK there and should have had one um, if it wasn’t for the penalty, he would have had a breakaway goal. So, um, he earned that one. he deserved it and um hopefully that’s the start of uh you know him getting hot on the power play and I think we’ve created a lot of good looks. He’s had a lot of great chances, a lot of good shots just um goalie’s made some good saves or a little bit unlucky whatever it is but hopefully now the dam breaks for him and um our power play can really get clicking and and uh you know when an elite guy get like that gets his you know confidence from that spot one-times and stuff like that I mean no one can stop that. So, um, just really good for the group. Thanks, guys. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Do you know? [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. frustrating was it to not close that one out after taking the lead after two? Yeah, I mean you this group here usually obviously uh you’re up 3-2 on the road going into the third period. That’s lock down for us and um you know we just wait made too many mistakes tonight. Three goals in our Dzone coverage um strictly coverage situations that we we blew and then our execution throughout the game was really poor. Is it just reads on those coverage things or what are you seeing on that front? It’s reads. Yeah, I mean it’s a lot of it’s reads. uh you know guys being in the right spots. Um stuff we’ve done a million times and just uh it just looked like uh you know all of a sudden we opened up uh you know middle. Um one’s attack off the goal line, the other one’s back post play. Yeah. So those are those are things that we know how to cover that. Say it’s tough cuz you’re not giving up, you know, I don’t say under 20 shots, but the ones you gave up were pretty high quality. Yeah, we gave up five goals. However, they came about us. you know, those three were Dzone coverage, power play, and then they obviously went to the net. It’s just um I don’t care what game you’re in, you can’t give up goals like that. And um you know, our men mindset is defending first. I mean, we’re doing a pretty good job in the sense like you mentioned, we didn’t give up a lot, but when you give up the quality we gave on their three goals, that’s the difference. What did you see from Don Samberg in his return? Yeah, I mean, uh, obviously, you know, he’s going to lug big, uh, log big minutes as he did and saw some things in the PK, you know, with his movement and quickness, um, getting into lanes. Uh, but just, you know, for him, I’m sure I hadn’t talked to him yet, but there’s some rust there, but I liked a lot of what he did and just, uh, you know, he helps calm things down. Guy like Cole, I mean, he’s back for a few games. He had a few times where maybe pass should have shot or didn’t shoot the puck. Didn’t shoot the puck. We wasn’t alone. We had a few of those situations where we got in, we’re looking to make one more play. And that to me is all part of the execution. You know, we uh whether that’s starting in a D zone by winning faceoffs and not getting out of our zone, which happened quite a few times, or crossing into their end of the rink and trying to make one more play. Um you know, it’s pretty stingy team over there. They’re not going to give you a lot. So, when you do have those opportunities, you got to shoot the puck. Speaking of shooting the puck, Kyle was able to get himself a one time or chance. What’s it like for him? I know he stayed productive on the power play, but for him to get one with the man. Yeah, it’s a huge, you know, huge weight off his shoulder. He hasn’t scored in a long time on the power play, but at the end of the day, our power play has still been awesome because of, you know, he there’s an awful lot of emphasis on, you know, put on him to kind of take him away and it’s opened up a lot of holes the other way, but no, just to get him off that uh, you know, off that, you know, just in the back of his mind not scoring in a while and and hopefully that uh leads to some better things. What’ you see from Colin Miller and his his return to the lineup? Uh, you know, there’s some there’s, you know, some some good things there. Uh, I like the fact that he got his shot off a number of times. Um, you know, it is a heavy shot and had a couple really good looks and you know, I think that, you know, when it comes to other parts of the game when you don’t notice them, it’s probably a good thing. Appreciate it. Thank you. Thanks. Thank you.
