Idk any of the prospects in the upcoming draft but we could use help at almost every position. Only positions i’d avoid are RB, S, and Special teams.

JPJ is a stud. That’s enough for me.
Is Cobee even on the practice squad anymore? Thought he got cut?
The only insane part is the Cobee Bryant cope. His ceiling is making a roster as a backup/special teams
Sports takes on Twitter and IG are even more braindead than they are here on Reddit. Imagine thinking any team in any sport ever just “doesn’t have a need that requires a 1st round pick”.
I’d say our needs going into the offseason would be WR2, NT, LB and CB.
WR2 I think we can fill with our second or third round pick. Germie Bernard is projected to go in the second round and he’s an absolute stud that would compliment London well, and has chemistry with Penix from their days at Washington.
NT is probably the biggest defensive need for us, and it’ll be the hardest position to fill solely because I don’t really think there are any college ones that really stand out, and most of the good ones in the league are currently signed by their respective teams. So this position might not be covered adequately going into next season.
As for LB, we need depth here so if Deablo or Ellis goes down, we aren’t having to rely on JD Bertrand. Can probably pick up some solid dudes in FA that could step in and contribute themselves.
For, CB, I’d say we need a good cb2. Bowman, Hughes, Alford are decent slot corners, but we need someone oppposite of Terrell that can matchup against opposing wr1 and wr2s.
McKay and/or TF alt account obviously lol.
Being fine with the trade is one thing. Being delusional about the strength of our team is another.
I’m not a college football guy, I learn about prospects by watching tapes. So I’m not a pro.
Right now we would have the 11th overall pick. according to NFL mockdraft databases consensus big board (will obviously change when the draft season takes off.
They have in those spots, Tate, Mauigoa, Delane, Love and Proctor.
Let’s eliminate love because I agree we don’t need a RB1. Again probably can maybe throw out OTs. Though IMO we should be seeing if there’s a project OT who can learn from Matthews. Like the Eagles did with Mailata. SO we’re left with Tate and Delane. Which is kind of a perfect WR2 and a corner back. THose are 2 positions we absolutely need help at. Our CB2 is rough especially with injuries. Our WR2 could be fine but Mooney has been banged up and I wouldn’t rely on him for too much longer. He’s not getting younger.
The idea that you can’t draft a wr that high because you already have a wr1 is stupid as shit lmao
Tate from OSU would likely be available if we had our 1st pick.
That said, JPJ was 100% worth giving up that pick.
maybe a big on-ball linebacker that can stop the run. Other teams running up the middle has been a weak spot for us this season. Peter Woods from Clemson was getting a good rep
Mediocre teams like Atlanta have needs across the board, so grab best player available. If two players are valued equally, the tiebreaker should be the position played. I believe you start at the line and work your way back. So for 2026 needs, my position priority would be: OL, DL, LB, CB, WR, RB (Allgeier likely gone) It is much easier to find a decent receiver than a capable lineman, so i like to err in favor of the line. Obviously injuries and free agency will affect the draft, but this is how i would start.
Now, with McGary ( injured) and Matthews (ancient), OT should be a focus. Also, teams have had success running up the middle, so DT would be helpful.
I agree. JPJ is worth it. We have the talent to compete
I typed a long message out then deleted it. This post is stupid. In my order order of preference we could upgrade CB2, WR2, TE1, OL (literally any position if it’s warranted it. Not sure if Bergeron gets a second contract. Centers don’t usually go this high but why not consider it. Also taking a tackle to sit a year isn’t a terrible option) with a top 10-15 pick. Plenty of teams take a WR2 high with an established WR1 in the fold: Jettas/Addison, Hill/Waddle, AJB/DeVontaS, ASRB/Jamo, etc).
Hell I would even consider a top 10-15 off ball LB if he warranted it even though metrics say don’t takes LBs that high and I played the position into college.
It’s one thing to say JPJ is playing great which is fine and we can even count it as the 2026 pick. But saying we don’t have enough needs to justify having a top 10 pick is asinine.
All I know is we are a losing TEAM. I think we have greater issues than a first round pick.
Ah yeah we got 1 corner that’s enough.
“I just don’t see a need on this team that requires a first round pick”
Umm…every team could use a 1st round pick.
Clearly a tackle
We could 100% use it on a CB. But I’m good – I like JPJ
What’s crazy is that even the naysayers have no issue with how this past draft went: All great picks and paying immediate dividends.
I’d take JP in top ten so I’m ok with it. But a first round for a RT to protect the blindside would be nice.
Pearce has been awesome. Dude plays as hard as possible on every play and creates havoc if you watch him closely.
I have no problems with him as our #1 pick next year. He has been everything you could ask for in a pass rusher. The sacks will come for that dude because he is out there really working.
Like all rookies that are as athletic as he is, he relies mostly on his speed right now. But his techniques are coming along just fine. He needs to gain just a few more pounds for leverage but honestly he just needs experience at this level.
The Falcons hit it out of the park with their two first round picks. The reason you’re seeing so many sacks this year is because teams can’t afford to double team anyone with Pearce and Walker coming off the edge.
They are making life easier for everyone else. And Walker is also making a lot of tackles in addition to getting after the QB.
Corner is a huge need. Mike Hughes is a stop gap.
I would like a stud RT that can be the future blindside protector for Penix
A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. Pretending we couldn’t improve anywhere is stupid, but the pick likely would have been spent on a pass rusher and they hit with the pick.
This is why I can’t stand anyone who says we lost the trade.
We did fine. We got our first round pick of the 2026 draft in 2025. Based on who I see available, I think we will be okay.
I really don’t understand this take. There’s already another first round pick on the team. If Pearce wasn’t on the team, pass rusher would be high up on the needs list too, but it’s already been addressed. The only sensible take is what could have been had for the additional 2nd and 7th given up. That’s the argument, not the 1st, because the 1st is already on the team.
Turning down a 1st round pick while the team has 3 wins saying “we just don’t need it” is crazy
Adding a blue chip prospect never hurts. A WR to compliment London would be awesome. Not sure of McGarys contract but maybe a RT? You can never have too many good DL and a CB would also be good. We may have some players that are playing well in those spots sure but getting a stud on a 5yr rookie deal is awesome.
It’s not that we don’t need a first round pick this year, its that if we didn’t draft JPJ then we would likely need to draft an edge this year, and none of the edges this year look as promising as JPJ did going into the draft.
3-6 Falcons are stacked. No need for some first round bum, send the Rams all your first round picks to prove a point.
RT would be nice, and a CB2 would be sold.
Can we use our draft pick on coaching staff? Lol
Yeah, who needs a silly 1st round draft pick anyway.
Jesus…this fanbase.
Oline fool
Tight end with high first round pick. No way that could be a bad choice. Just look at Pitt’s production
While I don’t mind the trade I’m not going to delude myself into thinking the Falcons don’t have needs because they do. They need a CB, WR, NT and it’s time to start addressing our OL because depth there is very thin. This is a very top heavy team with questionable depth.
We have needs all across the roster. The idea that we don’t have any use for a 1st rounder demonstrates a complete misunderstanding how drafting and team-building work in this league.
NT is a must… One of those 330 lb guys that block out the sun but are not all fat either.
He might be onto something. This team is so deep that we honestly don’t need to draft anyone. Let those other poorly run franchise waste their time drafting young players. Meanwhile we will continue to win 7 games and never make the playoffs…wait
Respectfully as a colts fan yall need a qb. You were a qb away from beating us.
Don’t matter if Raheem morris is still the coach. We’ll never get the best out of ANY of our players if he’s still there
On top of having two top rated pass rushers on OUR team, we have them for the next 5 years and if we can’t afford BOTH in 6 years we can always trade one for another 1st or multiple picks. This is a good spot to be in for once.
