Today is November 14th!
Francisco Lindor turns 32 today! 😀
Curt Schilling turns 59 today. He never pitched for the Mets but he was a right handed pitcher and human version of a period cramp, pitching in the majors from 1988 to 2007. As the first colon polyp to pitch in the majors, he spent nine years with the Phillies.
The Mets are teaming up with New York Cares for their 19th Annual Coat Drive presented by your local Toyota dealers on Wednesday, December 10, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field. Free parking will be available in Lot G. Fans bringing a new or gently used winter coat will receive a voucher redeemable for two (2) tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2026. Fans will be limited to one (1) ticket voucher. Fans who donate will also receive an exclusive 20% discount at the team store. Some exclusions may apply. Please note that non-winter coats like windbreakers, jean jackets, raincoats or other light jackets will not be accepted. Fans will be limited to one (1) ticket voucher. Free parking for the Coat Drive will be available in Lot G. Lot G can be accessed through Gate 1 on Seaver Way.

The amount of mental gymnastics some people are willing to do to try to convince themselves that Soto isn’t actually that good is pretty sad, but I’m not sure why I’m surprised
You know the auto mod didn’t write this. Yay Lindor! I do love Schilling too.
When do we think the first big domino will fall? Last year the first big signing was Blake Snell on 11/26
did not realize baty and lindor went b2b on birthdays what a blessed two days for the franchise
Schilling had the perfect ending with MLB.
Nobody liked him and nobody wanted to immortalize a crook, so it became clear he wasn’t getting in to the hall of fame. He asked to be removed from the ballot for his final year of eligibility.
The hall of fame said “nuh-uh, this ends the way we wrote it.” 😌
Diaz saying coming back to the Mets is 50/50
Tired: a coin flip doesn’t sound all that promising
Wired: if the Mets have a 50% chance it means all other suitors have to split the remaining 50% chance
Inspired: * trumpet sound *
MLB and nba free agencies are polar opposites
Throwing this out there because I’m wondering what people think and I haven’t really seen anyone bring it up. It would totally suck if Diaz left. I don’t want that at all. But if he did we do have another all star caliber closer on the staff in Clay Holmes. He was a very effective closer and when he’s going all out in a single inning throwing the sinker as hard as he can and attacking. It’s totally different than the nibble around the strike zone approach he was taking as a starter last year which even that still worked out pretty well. It’s kind of like how he pitched the last game against Florida but he was able to go deep because of how effective it was.
Again I don’t want Diaz to leave but I don’t think it would be the end of the world. Pete leaving would be the bigger blow and much harder to replace.
