The rest of the draft needs to be the secondary. Take as many flyers as possible. I dont think CBs or S are really ever worth it in FA.

Tyson with Nabers is too nasty to pass up and their game compliments each other so well, truly a Chase Higgins comparison, spend the rest on OL and CB, maybe a MLB to support Bobby O
My dream scenario is probably
Trade with Browns for their two firsts and get Tyson and Peter Woods. Unlikely but not unheard of for the browns.
I mean with Dart, Nabers, Skatt (with Wandale and Tracy behind) and a good Def what we really need is a competent OL

Go BPA since we have a QB. Passing on Downs in that scenario would be dumb.

As we enter draft season. I want to be so clear to all the fans here. Fuck your feelings. This is a BPA draft. Unless is a QB or Edge, I don’t care about the position. Let’s just grab the best player on the board. If thats OL amazing lets turn that into a strength. If its secondary, cool lets add a blue chip in the secondary. If its IDL nice lets clog the run. No one knows what position can make a gigantic difference in the roster all i know is the best player possible will
After evan neal, josh ezudo and JMS picks i think its safe to say schoen and co. Should avoid drafting OLine at all costs
Get Spencer Fano in Round 1
Gotta be BPA, or trade down and accumulate more assets. We have a qb, we don’t need to force a pick anywhere. If we end up in the top 5 we could potentially get a huge haul just to drop into the teens, where BPA becomes even more viable because no matter who we take the salary for the picks in that range makes it less likely wed be overpaying like say taking a RB at #2…
Another wr1 caliber player or High wr2 caliber player. So effectively he will have Nabers, another top WR, wandale if we pay him or slayton, theo Johnson, and cam skat. Thats a start. So in round 1 of the draft take a WR and in round 2 you grab the best oline piece id say round 4 as well. The defense is good enough with the right coaches. I think banks can even turn around his career so far with the right coach.

This is why it’s important that they lose these next 7 games. Dart should sit the next 4 weeks especially with a head injury and there being a bye week in 4 weeks. Getting a high pick means they can trade down and still get OL or a WR. I’m also not interested in paying Wan’Dale huge money. I prefer it be used on re-signing Flott.
If they lose, GM Joe is gone. Cleaning house is the way to go imo, even though I’m still high on him. If he stays, fine, but I prefer a clean start.
But back to the draft. We have so many holes, trading down helps us build OL depth because AT gets hurt way too much and when he’s out, it’s not good. Then we got to stop the run. When you have a franchise QB, OL and weapons come first before anything else, but stopping the run needs to be a priority before the secondary. There’s way too much talent there already so I’m banking on a good DC can get them to a top 15-17 defense just with the current roster.
Need a Luke Kuechly kind of LB
we have Nabers and Wandale is good, we can add a WR2 somewhere. Theo is looking better every week. We need OL, linebackers and DB. And for the love of god get a kicker

Needs in order of priority (in terms of how bad the need currently is).
DL, LB, Secondary (CB, SS, FS), WR, RB, TE, OL
Incredibly, the OL has been surprisingly good, not great.
Run blocking is putrid.
We have a lot of roster holes and needs.
We need playmakers on both sides of the ball. I get BPA and I know positional value is a thing but Caleb downs is such a stud I’d love him if we have the chance. The defense is missing Xavier badly. Or if we could go WR again with best available that would be sick too. Just my dumb thoughts as I comment into the void.
Seems like the parts of the game that have been hurting us the most, are not being able to finish games in the 4th quarter, can’t stop the run, and not being able to stop teams on 3rd down.
A beefed up running game allows us run clock in the 4th quarter and finish games – avoiding the crushing defensive collapses. Also allows us to control time of possession – which keeps the defense off the field… automatically improving the defense.
With that said – I’d like to see them go into the offseason with the goal of building one of the best offensive lines in the league. Tackles look pretty good right now, have to strengthen the interior and depth. Now that we have Jaxson, o-line / running game is the most effective way to help the team overall.
Second – gotta be able to stop the run. Top player on D-line, good middle backer to take opponent run game away… force them to pass more… pass rushers get after it, which helps the secondary
