Everyone has an off night but Allen / Mobley both doing this disappearing act gets so old — it’s one thing to not have shots go down but another to play without energy & focus. Mobley & Allen combined for 13 points — Poeltl & Barnes had 48.
Evan Mobley goes 2 of 7 for 7p 9r 3a 0b in 36m tonight and displays relentless energy

Too much time in Miami. Watch how he bounces back Saturday night.
The effort Mobley puts in is not acceptable. It’s damning when Tomlin and Bryant come in with ten times the energy of the starting bigs.
But he’s supposed to take a leap. But he has sp much potential. But we have to get him more involved…… man yall gotta admit at some point this guy has maxed out at what he is and thats a borderline all start bigman.. he’ll never be a guy who leads his team to anything
Everyone thinking mobley was gonna turn into Chris bosh or some other star was smoking something this is his peak he ain’t getting any better. Unfortunately the rest of the league knows this and won’t trade a legitimate star for him now
At this point, I feel like Kenny should just play his bench players starter minutes
Looked like Isaiah Mobley out there tonight
I know its the beginning of the season and its a meaningless game, but great players don’t disappear every other game.
a lot of the time a player will shoot in front of mobley in the paint and he will squat like he’s about to jump for a contest but then not jump and just ball watch… his effort is half the issue
Don’t believe what Jason Lloyd tells you that “Mobley has to be the best player on this team for the Cavs to win a chip”. Dom IS and always will be the best player on this team as long as he’s on this roster. The Cavs will go as far as Dom takes them and not as far as Mobley takes them. Mobley is a nice player and adds to a championship level team but he’ll never be the #1 option.
Mitchell Robinson will average 15 offensive rebounds per game against us in the playoffs
Looking like Jontay Porter
Mobley is never going to make “the leap”. This is who he is and it’s not great. It’s good, he’s a good player. But this is his peak.
Allen just put up 30. He actually needs the ball to score. He has such a high FG% but never gets the ball unless he’s on the floor without a starter. People say he sucks but whenever we actively try to run the offense through him it WORKS. But we’d rather have Mitchell chuck 15 3s and make 2 and Mobley try and fail to dribble a basketball when he couldn’t post up a possum
i ran into charles oakley at ATL a day or two after we got our asses handed to us by the knicks in the 2023 playoffs.
he was on his way to cleveland (he’s one of us) and i told him i was a clevelander, so he lightened up and chatted with me for a few minutes. i asked him what he thought of the series and his one focus for the whole 4min convo was how soft allen and mobley are. granted he is a bit bias being an aggressive player & a knick in his hay-day, but he was spot on and nothing has changed since.
this is my biggest gripe about our core 4. these two guys are amazing when they show up. but, too frequently, they are deer in headlights out on the floor. sometimes the BOTH OF THEM can’t stop mediocrity like the mitchell robinsons of the league.
Look I understand be upset mobley don’t have the offensive skills we all hope he would grow into. But in this phase you can’t be getting stripped in the post and look lost when trying to get yours down low. He just doesn’t have the physical size to get it he has to figure out what he can do that’s why I think he throws up so many three’s. Granted his shot from 3 has progressed but why no jump shots even from the post get low and pop off with a jumper.
Just a little Miami hangover. He’ll be fine

We have the worst fans
I think Mobley f**ked up his sleep or didn’t eat or got sick, I’ve never seen that from him.
