Weird that the third place cy young award doesn’t get you to 1st team all mlb (which has three AL SP on it) but I also don’t really care about this
He should’ve made the first team over Fried. Same with Christopher Sanchez
The disrespect continues. There’s literally no argument for Fried over Brown other than a minuscule advantage in fWAR (4.8 vs 4.6), though Brown’s massive advantage in bWAR (6.1 vs 4.4) erases that immediately. He has Fried beat in ERA, xFIP, xERA, K/9, WHIP, ERA+… the only thing Fried has is Wins. Are writers still that fucking stupid that they look at the win column to determine this stuff?
edit: Holy shit, and I saw they put fucking YAMUMOTO on the 1st team??? Dude wasn’t even in the top 5 pitchers this season. Absolute big-market knob-slobbing bullshit.
Pena absolutely should have made it over Bichette. Nearly identical stats on offense and miles better on defense.
Hell, both of those guys have a case for first team over Witt.
