In hindsight, maybe the damage has already been done with Demko’s workload

The Conucks did a pretty good job of limiting Demco’s workload. Like in years past when he would break down, you could kind of point to, well, they shouldn’t have done this or they shouldn’t have done that. And I know there’s going to be people that are saying they rushed him back. Like I don’t think that was the case here. I think Thatcher, if anything, would would have rushed himself back. But if it’s, you know what, if it’s unrelated to the maintenance that he had, then that’s not even something you can bring up. So, what I’m really getting at is that like the Conucks didn’t really do anything that you can point to and be like, “Oh, they should have done this differently.” Other than maybe not signing the extension in the first place, that that aside, um like they didn’t play the wheels off of him. And that was a real temptation with the way he was playing to start the year. So yes, in this very instance this season, there’s not really anything I can point to and say the Canucks managed didn’t manage this the right way. But the in past years, yeah, I think they’ve had an issue. The damage might have been done is what you’re

  1. Every single person knows that he should only play one game before rotating he is the most injury prone player I said if they don’t go 1 for 1 games he will be out by November

  2. It’s a big aside though.

    They should have known better.

The org is terrible at injuries.

It was ridiculous to take on Chytil, it was ridiculous to sign Demko.

Both moves were made after clear signs that the players were damaged goods, and we aren’t even 20 games in and the players are both facing long term injuries.

    Terrible.

  3. Before getting hurt he started 10 games and lank started 6 while not a heavy load for most with a guy that is as pivotal and injury prone as demko why not just rotate 1-1 when you have a guy that has performed as well as lank has for the Canucks and just roll with that until crunch time and someone earns the crease at that point? Yeah you want your starter to play more I get it but for demkos first real test in about 2 years it seems silly to push him harder then you need to so early. Just my opinion
