BLOCKBUSTER Celtics Trade Rumors via NBA Insiders On Lauri Markkanen, Anthony Davis & More

[Music] Boston Celtics trade rumors are about to heat up. Want to know why? Because other teams trade rumors are heating up. Decided to go with a trade video on today’s show. Even though your Boston Celtics got a big 35point win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, I do think there’s going to be a trade made at some point this season by Brad Stevens. So, that’s what we’re going to talk about on today’s show as three teams currently right now, I believe, have some serious trade buzz. The Sacramento Kings just came out that they might be selling everything on that roster. Dallas just fired their general manager and could be in line for some sales as well. And then the Utah Jazz, they have a name that a Celtics insider brought up that could be an awesome fit and a potential trade target. We’re going to break all that down on today’s show. First though, make sure you are subscribed to the channel. We are almost at our next milestone of 54.5,000 subs. And if you want free informative Celtics content every single day right here on YouTube, whether it’s a video like this or we’re going live for a game, then you’re in the right place. Hit that subscribe button and turn your notifications on as well. That player from the Utah Jazz is Lori Market. And I decided to go this route first because we have heard concrete reports about Sacramento and Dallas potentially looking at trades here in the middle of the season. But Laur Market isn’t exactly a name that’s super popped up in trade circles at this point, but I think he would be an amazing fit. And so does Chris Manx of Sports Illustrated who said the following about the Celtics potentially pursuing the Utah Jazz big man. He said, “You put Larry Mark in Boston playing that Chris Asorzing role for the next four years because he’s under contract for four plus years now. You have the reconstitution of a potential Celtics dynasty.” Look, it’s no secret Boston lost big time pieces this past uh the offseason. They lose Drew Holidayiday, who I’m really missing right now to be honest with you guys. I was just thinking about Drew Holiday earlier. I was like, damn, really wish he was on my basketball team still, but also Chris Esportzing, who we know wasn’t always the most available player for Boston throughout his tenure, but he clearly rose this team ceiling exponentially. We saw it in the short spurts in the postseason, in the finals, and even in the regular season as well when he was available. This team just took it to a next level when Porzingis was out there on the floor. Lori Markin is that type of guy. I couldn’t have said it better myself in terms of what Maddox said about Luri Marin’s fit here and he would just slip seamlessly into that Porzingis role again and he would be more available as well. Doesn’t have the injury history that Porzingis has. More from Maddox here. He said, “I understand the price tag is high. Lori Markin makes $50 million per year around. It’s hard to do deals like that. You’re going to have to give some draft capital to your old pal Danny A and Austin in Utah. But man, when I watch Larry Markin, that guy was born to play in this Celtic system opposite Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown. That would be the guy if he’s available. And that’s kind of where we land right now. I’m not exactly sure how available Larry Markinet actually is. He signed a contract extension before um last season. It was a 5-year deal, and he was kind of being shopped last uh not this past offseason, but the offseason before. Uh teams like Golden State were interested in a guy like Lori Markin. There was a whole saga around that they wouldn’t give up their young players to Utah and he ended up staying with the Jazz and signing a major contract extension. So, how available is Larry Market? And plus, like Mann said, that’s a tough deal to go out there and trade for. And also, you got to consider from the Jazz’s point of view, he could become available because of where their draft status is right now. We know the Utah Jazz are not a contender in the Western Conference, let alone the entire NBA, and they don’t have full control over their first round pick in 2026. Right now, you could argue they’re playing a little bit too well to feel safe with their first round draft selection that would go to Oklahoma City if it falls outside the top eight. Currently, it’s ninth. So, yeah, that pick projects to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Jazz probably want to lose a couple more games. And they could do that very well by trading Lori Markin who is putting up crazy numbers to start the season. 38% from long range, 28 points a night through 11 games. Six boards as well. He’s probably uh playing pretty well on the glass for the most part. And then you know you look back to 2024 2025 where only played 47 games. It wasn’t putting up the best numbers in this stage of his career back since when he won most improved player. But that was because the Jazz were in full tank mode in 24-25. like Lauren Marketin knew that team was trying to lose games and he wasn’t always going to go out there and put up stellar stat lines to make them in the win column. Now, like I said, Lauren Markin’s contract is hefty. It’s very difficult to trade for and the Celtics aren’t going to trade Jaylen Brown for Lauren Markin. Whether whether or not you think that that would be a fair trade or not, the Celtics will not be doing that. So, they’re going to have to find a way to conjure up if it’s this season 46.4 million. if it’s next season, which might be the move, 46.1 million, then 49.8 and now he’s really gonna start getting that $50 million a year kind of price tag and that’s even tougher to trade for here. So, with that being said, if they were to trade for him right now, because that’s kind of what we have to operate under, this is what a potential deal could look like. And right off the bat, I know it’s a lot going to Utah, but you get the best player in the deal, and it’s not a question. Lori Market. It goes to Boston in exchange for Afred Simons, Payton Pritchard, Luca Garza, and Sam Hower. So, plus the the control of three first round picks. You give two unprotectives away and a 20 2032 first round pick swap. Obviously, what we know about Danny Angus, he’s going to want draft picks. He’s going to want future assets. And then he gets an expiring asset in a guy like Anthony Simons as well. guys on cheap deals in Peyton Pritchard and Sam Hower that are also easily flippable if you wanted to do that as well. I think the Jazz make out like bandits in this deal to be quite honest with you. The Celtics lose a lot of depth in this deal. And I know a goal of Brad Stevens before the season is up is to cut more cost, get that luxury tax bill basically fenito done, zero zilch. They wouldn’t be able to do that if they ended up making this trade. The goal in trading Anthony Simons, which by the way is uh available to be done December 15th, so we’re about a month away from Anthony Simons trade room is really heating up. But I it’s not going to be easy when you have to throw in a guy like Peyton Pritchard and Sam House and all that stuff too. Like they they wouldn’t be creating cap space by making this trade. The goal of trading Anthony Simons would be shedding some money and they’re not doing that by bringing Lauri Markin in. Now they are creating a straightoff contender like like right away this team is going to be contending status for 2026 27. So, it wouldn’t really matter, right? I don’t know. What do you guys think? Would you make the trade? Let me know in the comments section. A for accept, D for decline on if you would accept Lori Marketed to Boston for two unprotected first round picks, a 2032 first round pick swap, and then Anthony Simons, Pton Pritchard, Luca Garza, and Sam Hower. An absolute boatload of assets heading to Utah. Let me know what you guys think down below. Next, we’re getting into trade rumors surrounding uh some Sacramento Kings players and some Dallas Mavericks players. a superstar down in DFW. We’ll break that down in just a moment. I got Josh Allen less than 34 and a half longest completion. Keon Coleman, more or less me, less than 38 and a half receiving yards. And then Rashad White, more than 10 12 yards on his longest rush. The Sacramento Kings, according to a new report, are preparing for a quote fullcale rebuild. Could trade their top players on their roster. What does that mean? Well, it means that Damont Sabonis, uh, Zack, Demard Rosen could all be on the trade block right now. Now, the Celtics going to be interested in those guys. We’ll break that down in just a moment, but things are really, really bad with the Sacramento Kings at this point. They’re coming off of a 133 to 100 loss at home against the Atlanta Hawks. Doug Christie had this to say, their head coach about the situation. If that’s your compete level, that’s unacceptable. Period. We’ve got to we’ve got to compete. That’s all. That that wasn’t that wasn’t a high level of competition. Like, he he literally is choking up in his words right now because his team is so bad. Like, a team plays hard. They’re young and you know it’s it’s taken them a few years to get the right type of wings and athleticism and size and they’ve done that. But they just compete hard. That’s all. They just getting out in transition and running. Nothing special. But when you play a team like that, you got to compete. Period. And if you don’t, that’ll be the damn result every single time. It doesn’t seem like things are going very well in Sacramento. And I mean, is anybody shocked they bring in basically the old Chicago Bulls and then put them in the West, which would be dumb considering the Bulls didn’t make the playoffs in the East, paying Damonte Sabonis all this money when he doesn’t play defense and they just signed Russell Westbrook who’s like the most productive player on their team. Yeah, things seem to go being going really well in Sacramento. So, looks like they’re going to be selling some of their farm here and some of the most expensive um assets on their roster. Damont Sabonis makes close to 50 million. Zack Lavine makes 40 million. Demard Rosen makes 30 something million. or maybe he’s maybe he’s in the mid20s at this point because that Anthony Simons trade for Demard Rosen would make sense. And then Malik Monk who I they don’t really seem married to to be honest. And then Devin Carter, a young player on their roster who really hasn’t shown me all too much. I’m sure they’d be willing to move off of him. Sure. Surely he has some promise. Played to Providence could be uh a better change of scenery in the Boston area here. I don’t think that the Sacramento Kings are going to entertain trades for Keon Ellis or Keegan Murray. two younger players who I would want to keep around in Sacramento as guys who can contribute to winning. Um, these five names, I think that they can contribute to winning, but when you put them all together doesn’t really necessarily work out the right way. So, with that being said, would you want one of those Kings players in a trade? I’m not saying should the Celtics make a trade with the Kings or not, like would you want any of those players in a trade? If so, comment down below which player it is. Is it Sabonis? Is it Zack Lavine? Is it Malik Monk? I think Lick Monk’s a pretty good ball player, man. What do you guys think? Would you trade for a Kings player? If so, comment the name down below. Lastly, yeah, we’re going down this road again. Remember 20, what was it? 2016, 2017, the Anthony Davis saga, his dad saying he’ll never play in Boston. Well, he’s on the trade block now. potentially potentially with the recent news coming out that Nico Harrison, the former general manager, now former general manager of the Dallas Mavericks, the guy who traded Luca Donuch for Anthony Davis, well, he’s been fired and now trade rumors have begun surrounding the brow, mostly because he’s not contributing much in Dallas. Uh, not to say that he can’t be productive on the basketball court, but he just can’t be on the basketball court. This guy isn’t healthy. We’ve known this his entire career. He’s made of glass. He’s street clothes ad. He has a cap stream right now and he’s only played in 14 out of a possible 44 available games as a Dallas Maverick. That’s risky to go out there and trade for like very very risky. Mark Stein said this about how risky it is to go out there and trade for Anthony Davis. He said, “One Western Western Conference official insisted to me that Davis will need weeks of sustained good play without injury interruption to convince teams to make representative offers for the 32-year-old closer to the trade deadline uh when he still has two full seasons left on a three-year $175 million contract. As for where Davis himself stands, there’s been no suggestion in the immediate aftermath of Harrison’s ouster that he would try to force his exit just because Harrison, who openly loved him and wanted to build around him, has abruptly been dismissed. It’s believed the Mavericks will work with Davis’s camp over the next two plus months as they decide whether to pursue an inseason trade. Whoa, this is interesting. At the same time, I’m also not sure how much I want to take a risk on Anthony Davis. Like what would you have to give up? Everything you just gave up to for Larry Markin for a older player who we all know when these guys who are 610 plus get to 32, 33, 34, 35 years old, not the same player anymore. And Anthony Davis has been a guy who’s been injured his entire career. He’s had some really, really great stretches, really, really great years. A finals NBA Finals champion, but time and time again, the guy can’t stay on the floor. And I don’t want the Celtics to be trading for a guy like that when they have their best player, their superstar, their franchise player coming off of a seasonl long Achilles injury. Plus, it would be nearly impossible, like I said, to make a deal. Um, you’re not trading Jaylen Brown for Anthony Davis. I don’t think the Mavs are taking that hodgepodge of of assets you have for Anthony Davis, unless, you know, you you send those three first round picks. I’m sure they would want to get involved in something like that, especially building around Cooper Flag and whatnot now. But I don’t think a deal with Andy Davis is all that likely at this point. Plus, I don’t think he really wants to play in Boston to be honest with you. Look, the reason I bring up all of these trade rumors isn’t because necessarily I think that Brad Stevens is going to go out there and strike, go out there and get Deontra Sabonis, go out there and get Larry Markin in or get Anthony Davis. It just boils down to the fact that when the Kings have trade rumors, when the Mavericks have trade rumors, and there’s buzz around these two teams making deals, that’s when other teams start to get involved, start to inquire, and then their players get thrown out there as being shopped or on the trade block, per se. And that just makes and opens up more conversations, more clarity for Boston as far as what they can do in and around the trade deadline, shipping off Anthony Simons and whoever else they think is expendable and going out there and making a deal. So, don’t necessarily know if the Celtics are going to make a deal on marketing Davis or one of those Kings players, but trade season is starting to heat up. It’s going to heat up around your Boston Celtics very, very soon. Name a player you want the Celtics to trade for. It could be a guy we talked about on today’s show.
