Rapoport: 49ers’ Mac Jones expected to draw trade interest in offseason

  1. I assumed we were fine playing him more and letting Brock rest to get more interest out there. Could be interesting if the next draft class is weak at QB

  2. Trade him away to a AFC next year if the Niners have too before the trade deadline.

If he hits FA and join the Cards (if they elect to get rid or Murray) or Rams (if Stafford retires), some Niners fans will be pissed.

  3. If we don’t get offered at least a 2, I would rather keep him as a backup and then get a comp pick

  4. No backup QB is more important than the one we have on our bench. Short of a 1st no reason to let him go since Brock will inevitably miss some time next season at some point.

  5. My guess is we trade him for a 3rd and he signs a healthy extension with : Pit, NYJ, LV, Cleveland, or maybe Miami .

Some of those teams have big $$ QBs, but I don’t think it’s too far fetched .

  6. I’m truly grateful he has been such a wonderful backup and although I would love to have him stay, he definitely has earned the right to start somewhere and SF would be crazy not to trade him now that he’s earned some legit value.

Signing him is turning into a real win-win for him and the organization.

  7. Don’t trade him, his contract is modest, he plays like a starter, understands the offense, and I have no faith Brock won’t get hurt again next year.

  8. Purdy really needs to show out. He is super injury prone so far. If Sam Darold wins a Super Bowl we will look like fools.

  9. Top 50-60 pick or it’s a no from me homie. Mac Jones on that deal is way more valuable to the 49ers for another season than a 3rd round pick.

  10. As much as I would hate to see Jones leave, I could see him being a good fit in Minnesota and he’ll have some great WRs to throw to

  11. If the dolphins don’t fire McDaniel, I could see them trading for Mac as a bridge QB for 1st round pick up while they eat Tua’s cap hit at a post June 1st cut. Otherwise, I’m not really sure who would trade for him. Maybe Steelers?

  12. There is zero reason for the 49ers to trade him. His time so far with the 49ers has done nothing but prove they need a solid back up qb. He won’t fetch anything close to what some fans might think they could get for him in trade. He will without a doubt be on the 49ers next season.

  13. We don’t want Archie Manning. He is not at the level of Peyton or Eli and never will be.
