🚨Bears Get HUGE Boost From Jaylon Johnson & Kyler Gordon + Asante Samuel Jr. News
Oasisante Samuel Jr. no problem as the Bears get a big boost in the secondary ahead of their week 11 matchup versus the Vikings. It may not be this week, but it’s coming soon from Jaylen Johnson and Kyler Gordon. Along with that too, Austin Booker is on fire and I’m going to break it all down, but before I get more into today’s show, the Bears are tied for first place in the NFC North. I couldn’t be happier about it in the playoffs are a real possibility. And if you want the Bears to make the playoffs, hit the like button on this video. Along with that, too, like this video, comment Y for yes if you want the Bears to make the playoffs or comment no, which you’re kind of a weirdo for that. If you want the Bears to make the playoffs or not, and subscribe to the channel to enter to win a Coulson Lovelin autograph helmet. What do they announce this upcoming Monday? Let’s get into the news. Is that Jaylen Johnson posted himself along with Brad Bigs of the Chicago Tribune? Both of them giving big hints that the Bears top defensive back could be back before the end of the season because we’re going to be playing meaningful football. Jaylen Johnson posted on his Instagram saying that listen, I’m going to be back. I’m working for it. They said he was out. Nah. Well, I love it. And it started off with Brad Biggs also saying yesterday. Johnson who could be surgery who had surgery to repair a groin injury could provide a boost to a piece together secondary if they can be back on the field for meaningful games in se December. And listen, Ben Johnson on his press conference said there’s growth each and every week right now. We got to continue to get better. We’ve had we’ve got some really good opponents coming up here and we will be playing our best football in December. Coach says that. Big says that. Jaylen Johnson saying that he’s coming back. Great news right there and that would be massive for this Bears secondary as this defense has struggled. There’s no denial about that. I’m going to do a full breakdown on the defense and how Dennis Allen C could be a little hot at the moment even with all these injuries cuz look at the stats right here. After their game against the Giants, the Bears fell in nearly every category but one. So they’re 27th in passing yards allowed per game, dropping one spot. Passing yards per game, which are 26, they also drop one spot. rushing yards per game. They dropped another spot. So, they’re sub 24 in those three categories. Not ideal, especially for the Monsters of the Midway, even though this offense has been great, but points per game. They did move up a spot. Not really saying much. They’re still 28th in the NFL at the moment. So, if the Bears can get Jaylen Johnson back, that would be absolutely massive, especially from that passing yards per game perspective. And listen, we have struggled bad against it. We’ve seen zone coverage get broken up. We’ve seen big plays. Sllayton a couple times this past weekend. Johnson, their big tight end in New York, also got a couple breakaways. If we would had a better secondary, too, Jackson Dart also probably wouldn’t have been running all over the Chicago Bears, but he did. Luckily, the Bears won that game, and I’m still stoked because we’re six and three and tied for first in the NFC North. That being said that this cannot continue to go forward. The Bears had their cupcake part of the schedule. They only lost one game, which was to a really tough opponent in the Baltimore Ravens, and that was without Lamar Jackson. And those Ravens though, man, they’re knocking on the door. They’ve made a lot of noise since that Bears game. I really, really think that if the Bears can get Jaylen Johnson back for football in Dece. But along with that too, I want to see what he can do in Dennis Allen’s defense. He only played in the one game this year so far, which was against Detroit, where he reheard that groin injury and he had that beautiful pass deflection. Bears were only down by a touchdown at that point in the game. Who knows what could have happened if Jaylen Johnson would have been in shutting down those wide receivers, but after he left, we saw the zone coverage broken apart, the man-to-man coverage broken apart. Just didn’t look like we had a true leader in the DB room. Tyreek Stevenson wasn’t up to it. But now that Tyreek Stevenson has been the number one guy for a while, he understands that responsibility. He’s been going against the best of the best, what other opponents have to give. And now with Jaylen Johnson coming back potentially later this year, that lets Tyreek go on the second wide receiver. And if he’s able to do what he’s done against the ones, he’ll be even better against the twos. So big news right there for the Chicago Bears if Jaylen Johnson does return. Would be super stoked about it and I want to hear your guys’ thoughts on it. But guys, before we get more into today’s show, we hit our next subscriber goal of 38,700. Now we’re on our way to 38,800. We’re 91 away. Hit that subscribe button to stay up to date in all Chicago Bears news and also enter to win that Coulson Love helmet and also help me get out of corporate America. go full-time goal is less than 6,300 now. So, let’s keep it rocking. All right, Kyler Gordon’s return also a big possibility according to Brad Bigs is that the Bears nickel corner who also can be a hybrid safety when called upon and arguably exactly what CJ Garner Johnson is doing could be returning here as soon as the Steelers game. He went on IR a few weeks ago. His window for return opens after this upcoming week against the Minnesota Vikings and it would be a huge addition to this Bears defense. So Brad Biggs also said nickel quarterback Kyler Gordon, who has had a trio of soft tissue injuries since August, can provide a boost to the piece together secondary if they can get back on the field from meaningful games in December. And like I said, that last sentence from Ben Johnson and we’ll be playing our best football in December. Maybe subtly hinting at the fact of what could be coming here for the Chicago Bears. I absolutely love it. But going a little bit more into it, Kyler Gordon in his 24 campaign didn’t complete the whole season, but he did have a career-high in tackles at 75, 48 solo tackles with five pass deflections, one force fumble, three fumble recoveries, half a sack. So, exactly kind of a CJ Gardenner Johnson kind of deal, two quarterback hits, and four tackles for loss. If the Bears were to get him back, which I just want to say this, let him heal up. Him and CJ Gardenner Johnson could be a lethal duo in this Bears quarterback room. And I hope that the Bears consider bringing CJ Gardenner Johnson back next year, even though they just paid Kyler Gordon. But CJ Gardner Johnson in two games has been lights out for this Chicago Bears defense. Let’s go through it. 15 solo tackles, tw or 15 total, 12 of them being solo, three pass deflections, one force fumble, three sacks, three quarterback hits, and two tackles for loss. He leads the Bears over the last two games with three sacks. Montes Sweat right behind him. And I gotta say this, he has more sacks than um Michael Parsons in Green Bay over the last two games. Just putting that out there. First defensive back for the Chicago Bears since Ricky Manny in 2006 to have two sacks in a game. And also, he’s the first quarterback since sacks were recorded in 1982 to have two or three two or more sacks in their first two games with their new opponent. So, big stuff here for the Chicago Bears. But I want to say this, let Kyler Gordon heal. He is going to be very valuable in meaningful football later this year. December, January, February, maybe. Just putting that out there. Let him heal. Don’t bring him back too soon. We got a good thing going, but I would love to see Jaylen Johnson back sooner than later. Now, some of you guys might be like, “Well, what about Dante Samuel Jr.?” Not going to happen for now. For now. Jeremy Fowler confirmed that the Steelers picked him up and he is on their practice squad. I was kind of shocked by this one to be honest, considering how well things are going. That being said, he didn’t really have an opportunity here with Chicago. We’d have to move somebody around, probably Nick McCloud. But Jeremy Fowler confirmed free agent quarterback Asante Samuel Jr. is signing with the Steelers practice squad. Per source, a top 25 free agent in March. Samuel recovered from a spinal fusion surgery in time to sign for the season second half. Now he gets a new start in Pittsburgh. So, the Bears right here don’t get Asante Samuel Jr. That being said, it’s okay. Talented player to say the least. Good overall, but I like what he’s brought to the table for the Chargers, but he won’t be bringing it to the Bears. 26 years old, could have been a part of the Bears future plans. 5’10”, 180 pounds, 47th overall pick by the Chargers a few years back and attended Florida State. Top second uh second round pick, top free agent this past year. and his career stats show for it 50 games total, 176 total tackles with 37 pass deflections, 30 or six interceptions along with that too, one fumble recovery. So, he’s been very solid so far. Um, he is all good to go and I am just very locked in. I’m fine with CJ Garner Johnson to be totally honest with you. So, I am super excited about this one considering the fact that we don’t have to worry about losing time with CJ Garner Johnson. Also, with Kylo Gordon and Jaylen Johnson potentially coming back, we’re just fine. No need to worry about it. And also, we’re just fine because Austin Booker is back and he’s been booming. No pun intended. This guy rocks in book it. He is going to be a very big part of this Bears team for the rest of the season. Since returning, he’s been electric. 98 snaps for the Bears with six total tackles, three quarterback hits, one sack, six total pressures, and one forced fumble. Yeah, he has been awesome for Chicago so far. And I want to say that I’m a huge fan of him. I’m a huge fan of Austin Booker. He’s only 22 years old, fifth round pick, playing like a true NFL starter. He was electric during the preseason with five sacks in two games. And I hope that he can stay healthy and be a big part of this Bears defense moving forward. I know we lost Dio. We got we got Joe at the trade deadline, but Austin Booker is a starter moving forward. and he’s really helped out Montes Sweat who has had two and a half sacks since he’s been back four and a half over the last four games. So just getting Austin Booker back is going to take even more pressure off Montes Sweat and this defense is going to continue to progress and look really good for the rest of the season. So good news overall for the Chicago Bears and I want to hear from you guys in the comments section right now. But again, thank you as always for all your support of just another year Chicago Bears. We continue to grow. We’re on our way to almost hitting that 44,000 mark which gets me out of corporate America. But with that, thank you as always for tuning in to this episode of Just Another Your Chicago Bears. My name is Nick Brody, and as always, bear down, baby.
The Chicago Bears secondary may finally be stabilizing — and at the perfect time — as major reinforcements appear to be on the horizon. After weeks of battling injuries across the defensive backfield, the latest updates surrounding Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, and the Asante Samuel Jr. situation bring a wave of clarity to where this unit is headed for the second half of the season. With the Bears pushing toward meaningful December football, these developments couldn’t be more important.
Top corner Jaylon Johnson is trending toward a December return after undergoing groin surgery. His absence has forced the Bears to rely on a patched-together combination of young players, role players, and emergency depth pieces. Johnson’s ability to erase top receivers, tighten passing windows, and bring stability to the back end is a massive boost for a defense that has fought hard but needed a true CB1 presence. If Chicago is still in the playoff mix when he returns, Johnson could become one of the most impactful late-season additions in the league.
The news is also promising for Kyler Gordon, who has battled soft-tissue injuries since August. Gordon’s versatility in the slot, aggressive tackling, and fluid coverage skills add a dimension to the defense that few nickel corners in the NFL can provide. A potential Week 12 return against the Steelers gives Chicago a chance to get their secondary closer to full strength far earlier than anticipated. A rebuilt, healthy version of this defensive backfield immediately elevates the Bears’ ability to disguise coverages and counter modern passing attacks.
On the personnel front, the Bears will not be adding cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., who is signing with the Steelers practice squad for the second half of the season. Chicago had been linked to him during his recovery phase, but the move closes the door on that possibility — at least for now. While the Bears expressed interest, it appears they are confident enough in their upcoming reinforcements and internal development to stay the course.
For a team aiming to stay competitive deep into the season, every roster move and health update matters. With Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon set for returns, the Bears finally have an opportunity to showcase the defense they envisioned months ago. If the offense continues to roll and the secondary gets healthy, the Bears could become one of the most balanced teams in the NFC as December approaches.

Non contest comment. I am glad you said it. The national media is up and down. Is Caleb a bust or the man? I feel the real focus should be on why this defense is so bad (w/o turnovers) and why is DJ Moore not more involved in the offense?
Y
It's 2 many gaps in the D Line along with the secondary – this defense doesn't have the talent like back in 2018 Poles came in and got rid of alot of good players and left gaps on both sides of the ball – they're looking good but they're not dominating because 2 many gaps especially on defense but that's how you screw up a team by getting rid of good players you would think Poles would have added 2 the team instead of replacing people that didn't need 2B replaced and the
only thing Poles has gotten out of throwing his weight around is wasted money and bunch of misfits brought in that couldn't play like the players he got rid of and still doing it – Lovie Smith had this team going in the right direction

Y
Hell yes playoffs and FGB. Let's go!!
Missing Edward's hurts. Sewell is not a good backup.
Forget about Johnson. He will be off the field much more than on it for the rest of his career.
Y
I appreciate what you do, but saying we are getting a HUGE BOOST by potentially getting players back in December doesn't seem like a huge boost at all. It's something that might not even happen
Y
Just wont be football Ready 😢
J.J. coming back is an early Christmas present. If Gordon returns as well dang we will be a real defense again. Bears would be silly not to bring C.J. back he has been a difference maker since joining the team. Agree with you on Asante if he performs at previous level if needed, we can take a shot on him in the off season.
Yea I think going to make the playoffs scariest team in nfl!

Yes! Hopefully they back and good to go.
Y- not getting to excited yet but I can see a playoff team this season, and if we get healthy on the defensive side of the ball, could even be dangerous and make some post season noise!
