The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially won the Asante Samuel Jr. sweep stakes as ASJ will be signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers tomorrow. He was already slated to visit the team tomorrow after going on a whole tour of visits over the last two weeks. But apparently he’s not seeing exactly what he wants to see from those other teams and is ready to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The report comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and my guess is Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan have given Asante asurances that he will be an immediate starter inside the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. My g best guess is he probably slots in immediately as the team’s starting slot corner. And my guess is Brandon Eckles or James Pierre will start on the outside alongside Joey Porter Jr. especially while Darius Slay gets better from his concussion. But even when Slay gets back, I kind of feel like he may be bench at this point because Pierre’s playing well, Eckles has played some good ball, and I think Samuel’s going to be a full-time starter moving forward.
