    If the NHL wanted to do right by its players and kids watching, they’d have a zero tolerance for illegal head contact. 

    Instances like this would be suspended meaningfully, start at 4 games. Make it hurt financially for the perpetrator (5% of their annual salary is a lot more than the shitty $2,500 fine this will get). Go up in games from there.

38. The ref was maybe worried about getting hit by the puck as Hronek cleared it. His head and eyes followed the puck and he wasn’t watching the hit. Still shit, but he wasn’t looking right at it as I thought when I first saw it.
