Harbaugh On Joe Alt Status & Titans Recap | LA Chargers

the news here from Josh. Just your reaction was Joe for the season. Yeah, I mean feel bad feel bad for for Joe and um that uh you know I know he’ll I know it’s going to be okay. It’s not going to be lifealtering and uh and uh yeah, but feel bad for him. just uh Chris kind of mentioned something similar last night just about if you’ve ever been through anything like this, but just when you lose your starting tackles, how do you sort of you know get the team together and sort of message to them that like everything that you guys wanted to start this thing out is still in front of you. Um, I mean I played out in played out in the game, you know, and uh you saw how the guys responded that um that’s uh something about our team that I really admire and there was a lot to overcome in that game Sunday and our guys found a way and overcame it and I’d have been surprised if they hadn’t. Uh that’s how how good I I I think I know this team. And you just uh you just keep going, keep getting better. Um you know, build and get better. And the biggest part of getting better is, you know, better tomorrow than today, better today than yesterday. And you just you build and stack. That’s how you go about it. I guess just to follow up on that, like you I mean all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all off all season. thing that you guys basically draft the things that everyone would kind of preach is how you had the best tack preparing in the league. It’s kind of like the identity of the team. Like I know you’re saying just just move forward and all that. Is it really just as simple as that when you lose like two you guys consider pro bowl tackles like have been the just as simple as just moving forward in your mind? I don’t apply to anything uh in sports. It’s it’s uh you know adversity and um and you know you just do the best you can and you get better and um yeah never give up those those three key three key elements and yeah maybe u yeah maybe a you know a lesser team a lesser a lesser man wouldn’t find a way to do that but that’s that’s what we a lot. Congratulations to them. Um, and to uh to Dave Roberts, I just I just thought that was just brilliant. Master class u managing every every inning was dramatic. U yeah, he’s just the best of the best. It’s like watching greatness and uh yeah, we’ll a good example for us all. just uh you know keep moving forward and uh and give it your best and get better. That’s and never give up. Extra frustrating Joe given he he had just come back you had already missed him for a couple games and now he’s gone again. Yeah, that’s your word. I mean, I I I feel bad that it happened to him because he I mean that he uh he worked uh you know, really hard to, you know, to get back and he’s, you know, playing so good and makes such a such a big difference. But like I said, it’s not going to be lifealtering. He’ll be back. Uh and now and now we uh yeah, we with with resolve, with fortitude, you you move forward and and uh find a way. And I thought that game again was a great microcosm to you know what the you know how do you approach it? You asked me how you approach it. I mean that game was a great microcosm of how you how you approach things you know um overcame a lot and and you find a way and um that’s what we do. You had about 23 and a half hours before the trade deadline now. Um, are you guys going to be looking to potentially try and find a tackle considering what’s happened with Joe now? Joe, that Joe is uh he’s been, you know, it’s uh, you know, if a deal if there’s a deal that makes sense at any position. Um, you know, we know Joe well enough to know that um, if it makes sense, he’ll do it. What is the conversation like with you two though? Like are you do you go to Joe and say we need this or we need that or how does that work? We’re just it’s just mutually talking about the roster and and um and he gives me players to look at. We look at them and um and then we we we decide we give our input. I give my input. So do the other coaches and then he makes the decision. That’s that’s the exact process. Uh any update on on Bobby left the game yesterday? Uh yeah. Update on Bobby? Um no, I don’t really have an update. Okay. So, nothing long term there. Yeah. Uh I don’t think it that’s not going to be uh an IR situation. Okay. Yeah. [Music] Just so you don’t ask me every day. Uh I I don’t think his window as I stand here right now and things can can obviously change because there’s no crystal ball, but I don’t think his window will be reopened till after the buy. Um and so moving forward, is it Jamari at left tackle most likely or are you guys going to try different options there? Obviously Austin, Trey can play over there. body ends up coming back. Is it going to be kind of a work in progress to figure out left tackle or not? No, I think our tackles moving forward are Trey Hipkins, Austin Deculus, uh Jamari Sawer, uh Foster has uh Surell has flexibility out there as well. So, it could be either Austin or Jamari tackle. We’ll just see how the week of practice goes. And uh it’s just always always a very critical piece how the week of practice is. And then uh with Mai, how close is he to playing? Uh I think he’ll he’ll be out there this week practicing. See how the see how the week of practice goes. See where he’s at, you know, uh uh physically. Um that’s same as the other some of the other like Austin. Same same situation, you know. Um I think they’re in a in a better place this week and and see how the week of practice goes. We talked with Deon last night in the game. Um just about what happened with his brother and playing through it and the support that he got from all his teammates. Yeah. Um, you also mentioned you specifically as a guy that’s just been through, you know, there with him through all the stuff he’s been through this year. Just what was going through your mind yesterday as you saw Dan playing and, you know, getting that sack and um, you know, performing despite what was pretty tough circumstances. Yeah, that that um that’s heartbreaking. I mean, that’s family. That’s uh that is lifealtering. that is uh that’s at a level that um and we love Don and um and his family and we support them. Uh but they’re like family, you know. Um that’s the way our players, you know, responded. They were this is this is this is their brother. This is like their brother. Um, so everybody everybody felt that and um, yeah, I I really wanted to just coach the best I’ve ever coached, you know, for for uh, for Dayon, for our teammate, for our family. As far as special teams goes, you guys have had some issues there. What do you think has been going on with that group? Yeah. Um, need to be better. need to be better and we’ll be we’ll be attacking it. What do you think is the problem there? Um well, there’s uh we need to be better fundamentally. We need to be better with our technique. We need to devote more time to uh to those drills. Uh and just putting just going to put a lot of emphasis on it. Have been and needs more needs. That’s the That’s like I said, the thing about getting better, the key is that you get better. That uh and better tomorrow than today, better today than to than yesterday. You said yesterday you love the team fourth quarter personality. What do you sort of mean by that? I’ve been saying that I think for for uh for a few for the last month and a half at least, you know, uh it’s a never give up, never give in, never surrender personality that that this team has. Just defensively, um you know, after that Colts game, we talked a lot about, you know, responding and you know, Jesse talked about sort of recovering the identity of the group. What have you thought about how they responded from that game, you know, both against the Vikings and then also yesterday against the Titans only gave up, you know, six points played long red zone red zone goal line stand. Um, you know, really, um, it’s it’s getting better. um uh previous game, this game um and you know just continuing to to to build and and uh get better. But think we did uh you know making a lot of strides uh we’re getting good pressure. I mean you talk about trades, we made a trade already. Joy made a trade um and doing very well. Um even the even that even the game that couple runs got out early in the game, but uh we were able to able to tighten that down and um you know coverage for the most part, you know, good and and just keep building, keep getting keep getting better at. But uh yeah, let’s let’s not forget there was only six points given up by the defense uh in that ball game. Just didn’t get a chance to ask you yesterday in Nashville. Just how did you feel like uh Justin played? obviously the you know early pick six but seemed to respond pretty well after that blade his arm as well. Yeah. Um just another spectacular performance. Um you know willed us to victory. uh one of the guys that was the guardians of victory in the game and you know he’s um he’s he’s playing great as probably all the metrics all the metrics show and uh you know really you know people talk about hits. He’s taking a lot of hits and that kind of thing. Um but he’s given a few hits out too and uh you know that u I think the the team feeds off of that and you know that uh the physicality is a great example you know for um for all phases um you know he’s uh he’s leading the charge there and um just by example setting the tone and um and making the plays and phenomenal game uh by Quinton Johnson as well. I think one of his best um considering, you know, the the catch he made in the end zone for the touchdown, which was a was a tremendous throw as well. Um and that contested back shoulder catch. I mean, uh, when we needed it most. And, um, those two just being, you know, right in lock step on the same page, um, making that huge play, uh, was really good. Great. And, um, keep getting better, keep building, and, uh, that’s good. What did you see on the, uh, the early pick six from Justin? Seemed like a little bit of a uncharacteristic throw from him. Yeah. Yeah. We can just yeah leave it at that. Um not perfect and uh that uh you know moving on that’s like 321 let that go and uh we are that’s the way we all all approached it. Uh you know on the uh I mean we say we trust Justin. I mean I trust him with with it all you know. So, um, yeah, we all knew. We all knew and we all know what what he does after an interception. It’s almost like good. Now I, you know, the rest of the game is is, uh, you know, is going to be be pretty close to flawless. So, uh, that was that was our reaction. I think that was the team’s team’s reaction as well. Did you see, uh, Derwin’s reaction after Justin finished off that run by running through 92? No, I saw Julies but uh not not there bench and stood up and ran over the sideline start. You can see it on the TV cop. Yeah, there was Yeah, he’s a beast.

  1. Alt was bigger than I thought to this team after seeing the win we had after that losing streak we couldn’t shake. We can’t throw in the towels weirdo fans we are 6-3 NOT a lot of other teams have it better than us 💙⚡️players need to bolt tf up on that line and train and play better no excuses. We need to to see something here by the deadline in the areas we are not getting back RB,OLINE mainly

  2. Well played vs Tennessee. Roman was very flexible in the play calling for him! Defense was on point! Please get on OL! This wont end well if we dont find a solution to Center and Tackle.

Bolt Up Forever 💙💛⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

  4. After watching the replay of Alt injury, you can put that on Pipkins for whiffing on another block. Day blows right by him , if he doesn't get so much penetration, Alt is still playing. This guy has been so bad since Telesco burned a third round pick when he was drafted, Another terrible Telesco pick, dude played Division 2. He has graded out so bad his entire career, he doesnt belong in the NFL. Sick of watching guys like him, Bozeman, Sayler and now Deculas getting driven back or completely whiffing on blocks. Its a matter of time before Herbert is injured. Great job Horwitz, you know what you had after last years playoff loss. Your first signing was Bozeman, I knew this team was going nowhere after you did very little to address the Oline.

  5. Kiss the season goodbye and plan for next year. The team is already too weak on the interior of both lines, and you just don't lose both Alt and Slater and have any chance in the playoffs. We should still be able to go 4-4 the rest of the way which should get us into the playoffs, but I don't see this team making any noise. Can't run the ball and can't stop the run… and now won't be able to protect Herbert, and Roman doesn't have a Plan B for play calling that gets the ball out quicker…

Hopefully since Slater's injury was so early he'll be ready to go come training camp next year and Alt's injury isn't so terrible that he won't also be ready at the start of next season.

  6. I’m so grateful to have Mike Tomlin as my coach. I just listened to goofball say “get better” probably every sentence. Maybe it’s a California thing, but why does Harbaugh give off Charlie Sheen vibes? 😆. Like every sentence is full of crap with a “yeah” in between 😆 Steelers by 30 this weekend. Chargers have no fans. BAHAHAHA

  7. Again, all of you loser fans who were crying and whining five days ago, please walk. We don’t have time for you. You guys are pathetic you’re not even football fans. Please find another team.
