Yeah that was pretty obvious after we saw the replay after the dirty elbow. The ref was only standing right beside them while it happened but I know it can be hard to see clear and obvious elbows.
So a hit to the head in front of the ref and no call but we lose our best dman for ot in the name of player safety.
I am starting to think the NHL needs a third off ice ref that can blow the horn and call penalties like this.
We should have started the ot on a pp
i wouldn’t say the refs cost the canucks the game but they sure had a rough night
Oooof
Of course he did. I expect nothing less after that play. Spotters are doing their jobs. Uhm ref? No so much
A concussion spotter = every person in the building
Fuck me in the ass
Said it in the GDT too but this situation should automatically trigger a review and, when applicable, a penalty.
You just expect the refs to be bad in every game in the NHL and if theyre good be happily surprised
The NFL is so far ahead of other leagues in terms of both the referee quality but also, expedited reviews and their own ability to determine that some flags initially thrown are not valid.
The NHL needs to wake up quickly because the stupidity and vendettas of referees should bot be so frequently a determining factor in this league.
I guess it’s good that at least one person employed by the NHL saw what happened.
Maybe the concussion spotter can let the refs know what happened? Since they do fuckall anyways.
If any player gets pulled by the concussion spotter it should be an immediate review on the play and then a penalty can be given if needed
I’m so fucking done with this bullshit league. I’m already boycotting the fuck out of anything NHL and not giving any money to them in any way, I just don’t even want to watch anymore. It’s so disappointing.
When someone gets pulled for concussion protocol, the person who caused the contact should also not be allowed to play while that player is in concussion protocol. Why does the victim team get penalized with being down a man from their roster and the offending team not suffer anything to balance the situation?
Has Abby started drawing from ECHL to replenish what we’re drawing from them?

Oh great

Cool but no penalty for elbowing him in the head
