POSTGAME SOUND: BROOKLYN NETS VS. ORLANDO MAGIC | COACH MOSE, TRISTAN DA SILVA & FRANZ WAGNER
find a way. How do you like your group’s ability to put some of those early turnovers behind them and and find a way down the stretch to come away with a win tonight? I mean, the fourth quarter is what what did it, you know, plus 11 in that quarter. Um, you know, down the backstretch, the defense, it carried us, you know, obviously we did not take care of the basketball like we should have. And here’s the thing, you got to give Brooklyn a ton of dag on credit for how they played and how they guarded. They disrupted, they switched, they grabbed, they held. All those things, you know, helped them, you know, disrupt what we were doing and and we have to continue to find ways not to let the offense and what teams are doing to us impact the way we defend throughout the night. What does it say about Fran where, you know, he he starts one for six from three and then hits two of the biggest shots for the night. He’s a he steps up to the moment. That’s what it is. I mean, those guys were making winning plays. Like Fran hits the big shots. Desmond dives on the floor full court. You know, I think plays like that, you know, Jaylen attacking the basketball, having five fouls and still not f, you know, not not fouling out. Those little things, those little plays, they add up. And again, this was not a pretty game. This was not magic standard basketball. 19 turns for 21 points. But like you just said, in this league, you have to find a way to win the game. How how important is it, especially kind of for this team, to to be able to kind of take take those hits and and maybe fight through those frustrations to find a way to win a game like this? It’s huge. It’s it’s part of growing and part of getting better and understanding this league is they’re coming at you every single night. I I have to give Jordy and his group a ton of credit for how they played. Like they were disruptive, they were aggressive, they were physical, they set the tone, and as we continue to move forward, understanding how we need to play each and every single night. Coach, you talk about players stepping up by committee. Uh Tristan was inserted tonight, five of nine from deep, 22 points, was part of that 110 run at the end. What can be said about his growth at this point? It’s just how we’ve asked him to play, you know, coming from, you know, being this year winning it over there with the German team. His level of confidence, you know, grew and that’s what we’ve asked him to do. Not afraid of those big moments, not afraid to make plays and that’s what we’ll continue to need from him. the the swagger that he plays with. We’re going to continue to need that from him. Po gets to the line pretty frequently and it shows in the box war that you’re not getting to the line as often as you are when he’s on on the court. How do you adapt from not having him on the court and creating those opportunities for you? You know, I think you just got to continue to find ways. You know, you draw two, you got to find the open man. And I think those are parts of, you know, when as the defense collapse, you’re not trying to rake up to get fouls, but you got to go in there aggressively physically and if they blow the whistle, they do. If they don’t, you got to continue to make the right play and go in to finish whether you get in contact or not. Tyus was scoreless again tonight. I know it’s not all about scoring for him, but what would you like to see from him offensively moving forward after he’s, you know, kind of What I liked from Taius tonight was that he, you know, was able to run that second unit in in in good in a good portion of it. It doesn’t have to be about scoring every time. It has to be about making the right play. Transition break, he probably had two behind him, could have gotten the block, he kicks it back out, we make the play. Like that’s a winning play. So whether he scores 2 10 zero, he’s trying to find ways to help this team win. And that experience and that leadership for our team is going to be very important as we get go down the stretch. You me you mentioned before the game that that you guys are playing for the process, not the results. And you mentioned earlier that that this was not up to the magic standard. How do you how do you kind of show that or or how do you how do you kind of square that with with this with this group as as you guys aim for for something bigger this year? You go back and you look at all the turnovers. Uh you understand how how you did it, what it’s coming from. Is it coming from spacing? Is it coming from holding the ball? Is it coming from not taking the shot? Is it just errant passes? You have to continue to look at all those things. And when we don’t turn it over, we’re a really good team. When we sit down and guard like we do in the fourth quarter, we’re a really good team. And I think you have to go back and look at those things that that’s what that’s the part of the process. How do you do that on a consistent basis? Thank you, coach. Thank you all. Appreciate it. Tristan, sometimes in this league, you just have to find a way, you know, how did you like your group’s ability to overcome some of the early turnovers and come up with plays down the stretch to come away with the win? Yeah, I mean, it was a it was an ugly game in the beginning for sure. um you know, a couple guys that got going on their team. Um didn’t really get too much stops in the beginning. So, I’m I’m really proud of the effort that everybody put forth and and kind of having the mindset of, you know, turning the page in that in that last quarter and um holding them to 16 points or something like that. Uh yeah. Um cuz that’s that’s that’s where we’re the best if we get stops and get out running. What what do you guys talk about after a game like this where you get the result you wanted, but you mentioned the ugly start? Yeah, I mean um not not our standard, you know, that’s that’s what we got to focus on is uh still learn from this, still get better. Um make sure that we understand we got the win, but it’s not, you know, we we didn’t play the way that we want to. Um and just grow from this. Um understand there’s obviously games that are important that that you kind of have to win ugly. Uh but at the same time make sure that we you know keep improving. Just kind of on that point, you know, you talk about about the the the standard, what does it say about the character of this team that you’re able to win a game like this ugly, you know, fight through all those mistakes and and be down four and be able to pull pull away and get the win in the last two minutes? Yeah, I mean, uh a lot of grit, a lot of toughness, uh especially mentally not giving up. Um so I’m I’m super proud of of everybody that stepped out today. um and kind of made sure that we, you know, secured this one even though it was ugly. Uh Tristan, uh Brooklyn is notorious for giving up a lot of points in the paint, but they were throwing bodies at you guys on the perimeter. Nevertheless, you were five of nine from deep. What were you seeing in those coverages that were giving you so much confidence to shoot that shot tonight? Yeah, I mean, most of the time they they were uh shown with the big, so you know, that’s that puts them in rotations off the bat. So, um, you know, on the on the back side of it, you kind of you kind of got to find pockets. Um, and you know, credit to my teammates for for finding me and, uh, trusting me with those shots. And, you know, I was just I was just in the right position to to knock him down, being shot ready. Tristan, you found yourself with the ball in your hands on a handful of scramble plays where your ball control was really showing off, able to just drive through the gaps and and attack the rack that way with the the finger roll finishing at the rim. You you stepped into that pull pull up 32 that was really smooth. How confident and comfortable do you feel with the ball in your hands? And do you trust that scalability factor in your game where you can play a whole different role any night for this team? I appreciate you saying that like that, man. That that sounded good. But um um you know, that’s that’s part of part of the game that I’m also working on that I’m trying to expand. Um, obviously, you know, I’ve I’ve I’ve shown a lot of my catch and shoot capabilities, but I feel like, um, off the dribble is something that, you know, is is going to help this team even more. Um, being able to create, being able to to create for myself and for others. And, um, yeah, I’m going to I’m going to keep working on that. And, you know, I feel like that’s going to that’s going to be something that’s going to develop over the over the next couple months and years. Tristan, you’ve got a quick turnaround with Houston on Sunday. I know it’s just after the game, but Kevin Durant and Amen. What are what are your thoughts going in that matchup? Yeah, I mean that’s that’s going to be one where where we can’t get away uh with a win if we don’t play our standard. Um so we got to make sure that we ready that we learn from this game and um you know ready to ready to come out and and defend. Thank you. Appreciate you. I’ll be back. Fron in this league sometimes you just have to find a way. How do you like your group’s ability to put the early turnovers behind them and come away with a victory in the fourth quarter? Yeah, I thought uh except for the first first quarter, our defense was really good. Um, obviously turnovers were a problem all game and uh I think they stalled us stalled us out a little bit in the in the second half. So, we got to do a better job in the next game with that. But, um, obviously good effort at the end and you know, always good to get a win. you you played with Tristan last season in the Euro basket, but just what did you what can you sense about his confidence this season and especially tonight starting? Yeah. Um he’s playing great. Super confident off the catch. Um I think he’s that type of player. I think we need him to be aggressive and um not always shoot the ball, but just be aggressive and and play his game and play exactly like he like he did tonight. And um also sometimes little deal with mistakes and and play through them. So, um, no, I think obviously you can you can see the potential and, um, I think he’s gotten a lot better already, um, compared to his first year. So, um, super happy for him. We’ve we’ve seen we’ve heard coach talk about the need to play to this team’s standard. Obviously, I think you you you agree that that you guys didn’t hit that standard in a lot of ways today, but what does it say that you’re able to still kind of gut a game out like this and find a way in in the last two minutes with that 110 run? I mean, it’s good. Um, no, obviously winning close games is really important, but um know we we have a lot to clean up even in the last couple minutes. Um, sometimes you you know, luck is on your side and I think you create your own luck a little bit as well. So, I don’t want to take that away from us, but um I think we we’ve got a lot of stuff that know we got to improve if we want to win the next couple games as well. I’m sorry. you’ve you’ve proven that you’re able to hit those big shots before, but with with Palo out especially, did you did you feel a need to to make sure that you make sure or have the ball in your hands and and make sure you made those plays? Obviously, maybe Lux’s on your side a little bit, but to make to make those plays and then I and make sure that you guys got the win. Yeah, I think I think it was just um just the way the game was going. Um yeah, the second one obviously I have to switch late in the clock just try to make a play and um no nothing special too. I just try to help the team out and we’ll kind of read what the game is, you know. Fron, we noticed you were laboring a little bit there in the first quarter before going back to the locker room. Uh just kind of take me through what happened on that play and are you feeling okay now in terms of your leg or whatever it was that occurred? Yeah, I don’t really know what happened. Um a little bit discomfort. We’ll check it out, but obviously it was was good the rest of the game. Speaking of your health, you know, this is the second game you’ve played with the mask. Is there a little bit more comfort now that you’ve played another game and doesn’t seem to be affecting your performance too much? And uh how much longer do you anticipate playing with it? Yeah, just I just want to wear until um no the bone is healed and um know just at least doesn’t hurt when I touch it um after a game and stuff like that. So, um I don’t know how long that that’ll be, but it’s I mean it’s it’s all right, I guess. Um just try to play through it and um no, pretty pretty good technology. So, uh that we have these days. So, I’m not complaining. Change the style from a clear to darker mask. Just what went into that and how’d that help maybe if at all? I think it’s just that that’s kind of what I’m referring to, just a better mask. Um a little bit less in my vision, stuff like that. What what’s the team’s mindset going to Houston now with with three wins in a row? Um I think know it’s good to get a win but um know we we kind of want to have another game like we had in New York where we play our branded basketball and know share the ball really well. So um especially against a really good team. So, um should be a really good challenge for our group and um I think that that should be our mindset to know take another step forward and um not get too lost in and wins and losses. Fron, one one play the team found some success with on offense is double drag pick and roll. You hit go with a lob alioop out of that play. Is that a set that you feel the entire team is very comfortable running and that kind of puts the team in a good position to create good shots? Um yeah, I think I think it depends on um usually that’s a set that you can play also when the game’s going a little faster and you can get get into it pretty quick and especially the way defense is guarding um or I guard that play these these days. You know, that’s one one good and easy way to get into the paint. So, um obviously we’re not the only ones running it, but I think he’s a really good player for us. And uh reports came out that you and Mo signed with Adidas. Uh, can you uh share any details on that deal and talk about it at all? No, I cannot, but um yeah, we’ll get to it. All right, thank you everyone. All right, I think that’s it for tonight. Thank you.

Is franz ok? he sounds exhausted and sad π
Can this team please find a way to clean up the turnovers? π‘
Great game tonight, looking forward to seeing New York next weekend.
Keep it up πͺπΎ guys πͺπΎ
Still not very good, not much room to move either with all those picks for Bane and big contracts on the way
Da Silva's confidence is the lift Orlando needed this season. Let's Go!
1:01 still not f***ing up π
I always said donβt sleep on Da Silva. I hope Magic never trade him because he is one of those players that once he knows is shot fully he will be deadly from 3 plus he goes to the basket at will when needed
These must be so frustrating over 82 games…its always the same questions and same answers lol
Jonathan Isaac has to get a few post up possessions ran for him! We gotta get him going, Jonathan needs to be aggressive and tell the coaching staff give me the MF ball! He's too talente π€
Da silva has to play like that
