He’s also recently been better at face offs. I’m wasted but I am such a petey fan and hope he keeps improving he is my fave canuck and even if we blow it up I hope he stays

I said it before, and I’ll say it again.
Petey having a lot of blocks is not a good thing.
First of all, it means your team sucks and gives up a lot of shot attempts. Second, it means that if he is blocking that much, it means he is lacking confidence in other areas where he feels like blocking is the only way he can contribute.
ok .. if u ONLY compare vs his past 3 seasons play
but vs the league …… atm he isn’t even in the top 50 pt leader board – that says everything
he is 8th highest paid (extensions don’t kick in till next season) he a minimum should be top 20 pt leaders but he isn’t
Neither of these are fun facts. Not sure why this fan base is so hung up on our supposed star forward being the best shot blocker in the league. Not really something an elite forward should specialize in.
We really need Blueger back and hopefully we can get this Kampf guy. Petey is being deployed very defensively because there’s no one else. If only we didn’t run out of ti- oh sorry I meant miscommunicated with Pius Suter.
He’ll always be a 2 way demon, hope he can continue getting his offensive game back. Hes shown flashes of that top 10 player in the league we know he can be.
He just needs 39 more shorthanded goals this year and then the fanbase will be happy, right?
He may not be doing what the fans want him to be doing, but at least he’s doing something out there. 😎

Petty is far from the problem. Contract still sucks to what he’s performing at, but he’s still our best forward. But that ain’t saying much. Honestly fuck it I’m watching old school wwe at this point. New wwe sucks too. Saudi Arabia should buy this team. Or Duran Vince

In today’s $$, how much would Pavel Datsyuk make?
I’m not saying he’s there yet, but he’s on a trajectory?
Datsyuk’s scoring stats, other than two seasons of his career were basically a point per game.
If that’s what Petey became, I’d be quite happy with that.
And given that Datsyuk AAVed $7.5 mil in just last contract (ending in 3016), I think we’re in track.
My glass is half full.
He’s been great for the last 10 or so games. Hopefully this level of play sticks long term. I’d still like to see him move his feet more and drive play / be a bit more assertive, but I’ll happily take a ppg player that can play shutdown defensively.
I don’t get why kane shoots so much. It’s not 2005, weak backhands from distance without traffic or someone going to the net don’t go in.
It should be Elias petey taking the shot with kane going to the net. That might work.
Also look at the shot on his short handed goal. It seemed effortless. That’s talent… not whatever kane does 10 times a game.
